Recommend a lense kit and other accessories? - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

I've been looking at the
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DUQGJ7E...TF8&colid=2JH17QLE2P960&coliid=I3IM4QUO5J7V4T
I'm liking the reviews and all. But, I'm curious if anyone knows of cases that can go with this that are a bit more aesthetically pleasing? Also, curious if perhaps there are other sets out there that may be better than this?
Any other accessories you'd recommend feel free. Getting an S4 soon for the ST LTE.

I have looked at thousands of these on ebay and the net. All the ones I have seen with a magnifying lens above 2x have either a special case that the lens attaches too or the lense is fixed to a bracket & stand. There don't seem to be any variations in cases for the 8x lens.
There are fisheye , macro and 2x telephoto lenses available that can be used via a magnetic ring that is stuck around the camera. You should be able to use these with a case of your choice as long as the area around the camera has enough room for the ring to sit properly. Im not 100% sure on this but what I have read so far seems to be the case.
There are a couple of high quality custom setups available where the case looks a bit nicer but they cost like $100 or more and will only suit a particular phone.

I bought a smaller lens kit on Amazon a couple of weeks ago for my Droid Rzr Maxx, haven't tried it on my S4 yet. For $10 they work pretty well.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F5TCA4A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you take a look at youtube you'll notice that most of the zoom lenses have a really noticeable blur around the edges. Some even block the edges around scope of view so the edges will be black.
The best ones I could find where made of aluminium instead of plastic. This of course increases the price but the bad lenses will only make you cry if you look at the photos or video on a big screen.
Edit: the macro and wide angle lenses seem to work well.
Edit2: Here's a review for the same lens that is being sold for S4 as well:

The photos look so bad that I wouldn't buy it.

Incase book jacket (iPad) - Fits like a glove

I had one of these for my iPad so I tried it on my TouchPad and was surprised at how well it fit!
Power and volume buttons, headphone jack, speakers, charge port, and the camera are spot on! It also has the elastic strap to keep the case closed, a feature missing on many other book cases including the HP one
Did some searching and found an awesome $9.99 price, with fast $.99 shipping.
Order took about 1 week to show up at my house in full retail package.

Yes please!
I assume this case doesn't allow for the touchpad to lay in "typing mode" with a small angle, or even stand up at all for that matter?

I will try to throw up some pictures tonight for you
You are correct that the typing mode angle is very low, but it does stand up just fine.
Nice.
Can you post a video on youtube of it? Or photos. How do you like it so far?
Pictures? Let us know!
The TouchPad fits really well in this case. It's made of leather on the outside and felt-like material on the inside..I think. It is a pretty snug fit, and the cutouts seem fine (at least to me anyway). I don't think anything significant is covered....the only thing that is inaccessible with this case is the microSD slot...I think all the speakers are exposed. I really like how the front flap is secured by the elastic band. Also, the stand seems pretty stable to me.
I also believe they sell a white and blue version of this case. It's like $10 on eBay as well....so it's cheap
I wish it was thinner, but I'm happy with this case. I have attached a bunch of pictures. Hope this helps!!!

krusell or other similar quality pouches.

cant for the life of me get a pouch/case that fits perfectly anywhere. i have got one of these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Leather-...ccessories&hash=item5d33f5eaeb#ht_3585wt_1115 but it doesnt cover all of the screen or camera due to the lower cut one the front.
has anyone actually tried the krusell pouch/case for these or one of similar quality. i saw some today in a way too small size, but the quality looked really good. any opinions appreciated.
also, what is the general rule with the magnetized clips on cases these days. do they have any damaging effects to either the screen, battery or sim cards etc. thanks.

little rant...
What really annoys me about this and many cases is the lack of thought around the camera on the back. They leave a slot for it on the back peice of the case which is great, but when you open it up to actually take a photo, you need to hold the case like an open book as there isnt a slot on the front peice. I dont intend on using the camera much but having to hold the front flap out of the way of the lens while trying to get composition, focus and release the shutter is a pain in the bum! If I could flip the front all the way round to the back and hold it flush with the back, that would be far more convenient.

+1!
What also bothers me a little is the slit in the front flap of the case... for US owners, it looks like a mistake since we don't have that speaker there. Other than that, very happy with the quality, low profile and details - rubber footings for landscape upright position, magnet to hold front flap as prop in "keyboard" mode. A little expensive but I did the round about with case buying with the tab 10.1 and ultimately liked the official book case most.
Cases are available at BestBuy and B&H.
Picked one up at Best Buy last night. Absolutely prefer this over the Moko i just got. Only thing missing compared to other cases is a loop for a larger stylus and it's not heavy enough where it needs a handstrap.
I don't care about a camera hole on the front flap (to take pictures when the flap is folded over) as rear camera on this is more vestigial to my tablet use.
I do have issues with trying to stand it up the tall way with the cover - it sometimes wont hold the stand form and flips the tablet down.
This may get easier as it breaks in. There is no clasp magnetic or otherwise that holds the screen cover closed so it will fly open at times.
The tablet is protected on 3 corners (except the one that holds the stylus, obviously), completely covers the plastic back except for camera hole and front flap is thin but should protect the screen well enough in a bag. I like the clean design and it does raise the "premium" feel of the tablet in hand by covering up all the plastic.
I think if you care about adding the least bulk to the unit while still having a means of protecting it a bit, I think it does well.
BTW, if you had the 7.7 and the OEM cover for that, this cover is almost exactly like it - except this front flap is even thinner than the one on that one and can fold to help it stand. The 7.7 form fitting case that Samsung made could only stand by reversing the case flap and it would always fall over.
I bought it from Best Buy as well, it's not my first choice of cases, but it's probably the best out there now. Just too expensive, but I need protection for this unit. I'm hoping Seidio makes a case but I don't think this tablet will sell that well. I hope I'm wrong but it's fairly expensive. I think it is worth it but I have terrible judgment and love electronics.

Just curious, what colors are people getting? I picked up a white one at BB, but thinking about exchanging it for the black...
Every portable device I've owned since my first Walkman, with the exception of my 3rd gen iPod in 2004, has been black, so the white device and matching white case is a welcome change for me.

I couldn't take it anymore and exchanged for the black, lol. The all-white look was burning my eyes.
Picked this up today and it's going back. I do like how thin it is, but I notice the cover has a habit of bowing just enough to wake up the tablet and it's just close enough that it keeps waking it up. Case would be fine without the sleep/wake feature. Anyone know of a good knockoff without the magnet?

You might like the STM Cape. It is a bit different, but appears to be very good quality, and it is less expensive and fairly light weight (judging by specs as I don't have one yet):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251888
I asked them and they confirmed it does not come with a magnet for wake/sleep. Personally that has disappointed me, but you provide a good example of where it can be a good thing to not have wake/sleep.
I've asked STM a few more questions that I'm waiting to hear back on, including what kind of padding is embedded in the front cover. Something that has concerned me about the official Samsung Book Cover is that the front cover seems so thin that I wonder how much protection it would really provide (particularly from any impact). The STM Cape appears to have some kind of stiff material (padding?) in between the outer layer and the soft inner lining. I'll post in the Cape thread whenever I hear back about that.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I don't mind thin. I never do anything that would damage a device like a phone or tablet anyway. Mostly I just want it for scratch protection since it could slide around in my briefcase and what-not.
I'm ordering this case from ebay. Looks more stable then samsung case.

If you haven't already ordered I'd recommend having a look at the following thread that was a bit negative about the KLD:

The MoKo Ultra Slim Lightweight Smart-shell Stand Case mentioned in that same thread sounds more promising (in my opinion).
I have just ordered this one from ebay:
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121107475861
(I cannot post links yet, you'll need to copy and paste in your web browser)
It is cheap and looks slim and similar to the KLD one and it has a magnetic tab to keep it securely closed.
According to the description it supports "auto sleep and wake up when close and open" but I am not sure if I believe it. I can always open a dispute if it is not true

This does look like a winner. Not extremely please about the Samsung case, regarding the inability to stand it up or keep the flap closed.
If you ordered this let us know how it goes.

I have not, but that is an intriguing product. I wonder if you might get a sense of the quality by looking at the reviews for the below version which I would guess uses the same keyboard (but with a different enclosure)?

Clip-on lenses for Nexus 6P

Hello, everybody!
Anyone tried clip-on lenses for the 6P?
I'm a semi-professional macro photographer and I'm thinking about buying these additional lenses (just to use them when I haven't my DSLR with me).
Do you think these ones will fit the rear camera of the 6P: VicTsing Clip-On Fisheye Fischauge Objektiv + 12X Makro Objektiv + 2... http://www.amazon.de/dp/B0155X4DJA/ref=cm_sw_r_other_udp_awd_HkCAwb7KEVJN5
Second question: Will it fit with a case on, e. g. with this one: Huawei Nexus 6P Hülle - MoKo [Kristall Durchsichtig Serie] Ultra Sli... http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00NTQ2NNE/ref=cm_sw_r_other_udp_awd_vmCAwbJGB3845
Thanks in advance!
They look adaptable enough. Considering the hump, you'll have to use the clip horizontally for a better stability, but I see no reason why it should not fit properly.
With cases, things will get more tricky. Even if they are stable enough, you are taking the lens away from the camera. As you may already have thought, that's not a good idea, but maybe you could still take reasonably good pictures (or even perfect, I can't say that much without actually testing those)
TL;DR: If you want to take the risk, I'd say it will be worth it, but don't trust me without hesitation, as I'm no expert in this.
I have 6p and lenses you're getting. They work grt. Macro blew me away. Got a close up of a dead flys head with an eye missing that looks awesome. Fish eye lens works fine. Going to try and get wide angle lens to complete the set

Do you use an case with the lenses? I'm interested in buying an 6P with tripod and maybe lenses as my main camera. So it would be great if they work with an case.

I got this set (I think this is the same one...) for Christmas. The fisheye works OK, definitely makes it wider, but does show a round picture. Macro lens requires you to be VERY close for photos to be in focus.

I only played around with it a little but, but I found it tough to get close enough and have light on the subject. I was not using photography lighting, just normal room lighting, but the phone got in the way of the light often.

Moment Case for OnePlus 6

Hey guys
just received my Moment lens case today.
So far so good, I talked to the owner and the 6T cases will be out sometime in February.
This case seems really solid and the wooden part feels like actual wood (not sure if it is or not)
I'll keep you guys up dated as I play to use it this holiday a lot with the family.
Do you know if the lenses are compatible with the Rhinoshield adapter? The mounting system looks the same.

Yeah I'm kinda curious bout that too, Moment took their sweet time releasing this case and I couldn't wait for some "timeline" so I jumped on rhinoshield, the mount does indeed look very similar.
I like moment's lens selection, especially that anamorphic lens, I may just buy a lens to see for myself and if I need a case, I'll get it

I can't find a real review of the moment lens on the oneplus 6. I've been googling reviews everyday.
What's it like?
I've personally been waiting for years for Moment to make a OnePlus case!
I was on my OnePlus 2 when a friend got his first lens for his Pixel...
Moment lens are quality, they start to be pricy when you start getting them all considering it's for a cell phone, but at the same time, it's cheap when comparing on getting the equivalent on a DSLR... So it's a little mix feeling.
Really thought, your phone is the best camera you almost always have with you and much compact to carry around a couple Moment lens then a camera bag.
I used to be a full time photographer so it's not going to replace any of my gear when I really want a quality photo but it's definitively a fun tool to carry around.
I just received my black case and the wide angle. Looks and work very well!
Here are some sample shots I today with and withought the wide
Cheers
The distortion of the wide 18mm is driving me nuts. It looks like everything is slanted away from the lens.
Bought a moment wide 18mm v2 for my OnePlus 6T. But since the case isn't it yet, I also bought a Sirui 60mm (direct competition to the new Moment 58mm tele) with the same lens mount... and that comes with a clip-on style.
So I put the clip on my 6T and mounted the Moment wide lens on the clip. And no matter how I mounted it, there is a HUGE amount of blockage in the corners of my smartphone viewfinder.
Curious to know, how close does the moment oneplus 6 case comes to the OnePlus 6 lens? Because the sirui clip is not more than 1mm thick and that thickness is already causing the lens to block part of the total image.

I bought the Sirui set that includes wide (18mm?), macro and portrait (60mm) that came with the clip. Then i got the moment case for the OP6. Withe the moment case, i get a small but noticeable dark corners with the wide. The dark corners are barely noticeable with the 60mm. See pics attached (wide, no lens, portrait, in that order).
I should mention that i can't get fingerprint unlock with the lens mounted. Perhaps it would work if i redo the fp with the very tip of my finger.
Pics of the mount please! Shame I can't find a case with 17mm or best, 37mm standard lens mount so that we have a bigger selection.

Not sure what you want to see... Here are some pics of the moment case with and without the sirui 60mm lens.
These lenses are large enough to block the secondary camera on the OP6. Not sure how that affects IQ.
the case looks really beautifull on the backside it also protects the camera, however does it has decent lip to protect the screen ?
