LTE is back online, please follow steps at the bottom of this post to get everything back in order.
*If you are in a 4G area it is advisable to make sure you switch to eHRPD to avoid bad hand offs between 4G and 3G as well as allowing simultaneous voice without hiccups. I noticed my GPS was not working last night so it is possible eHRPD settings will affect your gps or it could have just been due to the network issues.
As most are aware both the LTE network and eHPRD are down (a special version of 3G for the Thunderbolt only). To get 3G data back you just need to change your settings back to the normal 3G network. Here are the steps:
Dial ##778# and hit send
A pop-up window named EPST will show up giving you 2 choices: View Mode and Edit Mode. Pick: Edit Mode.
Enter the Password: 000000
Go down to Modem Settings and pick “Rev A“
You’ll want to choose enable and click OK, hit the menu button and then press “Commit Modifications.”
Restart your phone and you should see 3G is working
last step (may not be necessary)
dial *#*#4636#*#* go to phone info, then set preferred network type to CDMA auto (PRL)
I hope this helps anyone that is left in the dark by this outage.
If you are running a non-stock dialer or a rom that included a dialer it may prevent you from entering settings. Flash this zip to go back to stock dialer
http://www.mediafire.com/?9yf09ri4t2mip4z
For those that want instructions for after LTE is back on
These 2 steps will put you back on LTE and then put you back on the correct 3G for the Thunderbolt, when its back up.
dial *#*#4636#*#* to get LTE, go to phone info, set preferred network type to CDMA + LTE EvDo auto
Dial ##778# and hit send
A pop-up window named EPST will show up giving you 2 choices: View Mode and Edit Mode. Pick: Edit Mode.
Enter the Password: 000000
Go down to Modem Settings and pick “Rev A“
You’ll want to choose eHRPD and click OK, hit the menu button and then press “Commit Modifications.”

Isn't this selected by default? I changed it to "enabled" let it reboot, and 3G is back on.
By default we are setup for the eHPRD 3G network on the Thunderbolt because it allows faster switching between 4G and 3G. Since both network features are down you have to switch your settings to the 3G network used by all other Verizon phones.

yea but in your instructions you said select eHPRD, which is already selected.
Yes enable, sorry I was too fast in typing out my instructions and goofed
one more step guys, if you are on auto cdma/lte settings, you might have to go in to
*#*#4636#*#* and select phone info and then select EVDO only to get 3g under preffered network settings.
It would be nice if you could add this to OP wakestrong. I think people in 4g area have cdma/lte auto option enabled so in the phone settings the phone is still trying to pick up the older cdma.
So this has worked for everyone? I tried this earlier with no luck and just did it again with no luck either :/

Look post above. You might have cdma/lte auto enabled under phone info menu so it is still searching for 4g and older 3g.

Thanks a million! It worked. Good night, I was on 1x ever since I flashed the stock rom. I thought for a while it was an error on my part. Talk about bad timing.
I love all the nifty little tricks we find on the internet
Thanks OP.
First the PSN is down for a few days, and now Verizon's new network. Wth?

Yea I could see how that would be a stressful situation. Glad it worked out for you.
I followed the instructions like another thread comment said to do but for some reason I couldn't get it to work still but after playing around I was able to get it working.
---- Instructions for enabling: (thanks eyecon82) ----
1. dial ##3282#
2. then click edit (need MSL code) (I used SPCUtility.apk as nothing else worked on my S5)
3. then click LTE
4. It will show LTE ( also known as Band 25), Band 3, Band 26, Band 41 ( I unchecked marked all of these but the LTE option leave that check marked to on)
5. Disable all bands leave LTE check mark to say on.
6. Go to the main directory by hitting back key and choose More at the bottom
7. Choose HDR/1X Selection and choose LTE only Mode. Click OK to save
8. You can either reboot or I just turn on airplane mode and turn it back off to reset the connection.
9. LTE should be working like mine did. But you will not get phone calls until you turn back on the HDR/1X Selection to LTE + CDMA +EVDO Mode but you will get text messages fine.
The items that are underlined in Red are the stuff i added.
---- To tell what Band on: ----
1. ##debug#
2. enter passcode 777468
3. go to LTE engineering menu
I hope this helps because all the other stuff I read would not work for my Galaxy S5 I just bought.
Thanks
Does anyone of you know the secret code to dial in the dialer to access the network settings. I remember using it once in my old android device and theres is an option for LTE only. In the setting the option is LTE/WCDMA/GSM therefore I can not force LTE only
Dial *#2263# and then click band selection then LTE then LTE all when you want to change back just click band selection then automatic

No, it works without Root.
Go to the dialer and enter *#0011#.
Click on the menu icon on the top right and press Back.
Click on the menu icon on the top right again and press Key Input.
Type in Q and press okay
Then repeat step three, but enter 0000 this time. Wait until the Main Service Menu pops up (it can take up to 20 seconds).
Go to UE settings and Information -->Setting-->Protocol-->AS-->Frequency Lock-->LTE Cell Locking
Select the LTE band that you want your phone to lock into.
Reboot

I have a feeling this may be my problem with my Galaxy s6 as well.
Doesn't anyone know how to force LTE then? Or just even how to switch between the options of LTE/GSM ect
I'm having the same issue with my international version of my S6 too, no possible way to force LTE only bands?
Same problem here. Only way for me is to to toggle WCDMA and Lte
Skickat från min Nexus 5 via Tapatalk
2 ways to do this.
1. Root your phone and install Advance Signal Status in playstore. Once installed, open the app > go to Additional Info > Device Information > and look for Set Preferred Network Type dropdownlist. You can choose LTE from there.
2. You need Root + Xposed Framework. After installing Xposed, Download Intelli3g module and from there, you can toggle Fast And Slow Network Mode. Just be sure one of them is set to LTE only.

So Im going to bump this due to the fact i had ran into this problem exactly. I bought my s6 edge out right from the only store that would do that at the time which was wind mobile. wind your supposed to get 4g max is what the icon says but after using the Advance Signal Status apk with being rooted and all that showed to be working was 2g/3g everything else was n/a. **** you wind your a horrible company. Anyways after millions of dropped and echo filled calls that didnt drop or the turtle like so called high speed internet. i went to telus got a sim card and a plan and put in the sim card and i get a 3 g signal and the apk shows the same thing. i called tech support and this guy went above and beyond the usual script those idiots read over and over when they dont know what they actually do there. at the end of the call he says im sorry my coworker is saying if it was from wind you wont get lte on that phone with us. i had no way to choose lte through my phone settings and it was driving me crazy. so after a little research and a little playing around with the band selection by going *2263# first selection in the list. i tried going straight to lte only and it went over switched from 3g to 4g+ aka lte also verified by the advance signal status the only **** active was the lte section... so i thought yes i did it so i try a call and wtf immediately the phone would end the call every time and incoming went to voicmail every time. so i then started to try the different lte combos and to save someone time i ended up with the lte+cdma(prl) and after that it stayed with lte band and the phone calls work.
just because some tech support told you you cant run some sim cards on some phones unlocked or not because of frequency's of the carrier, but thats noy true and i proved that to my self today. have some patients and make sure you have a back up ready and waiting just in case at all times ive learned the hard way too many times saying this flash is a quickie im good lol nooope ...anyways i will also be getting a wind sim to work on the s4 wind says it cant be done but i say other wise i will post my findings on the appropriate pages.
i hope this helps some people

Both the code doesn't work on my Dubai Galaxy s6
you can going to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83536505&postcount=5
When I first got this phone back in March I bricked it the next day playing around with it. @petermg posted the firmwares for this device on July 24th. Luckily I kept it. Big thanks to him for sharing them.
This method also works on the Boost Mobile LG G Stylo LS770 which I have tested on AT&T, also.
Downloaded the files from the Sprint LG G3 SIM Unlock guide.
You will need:
a rooted device
Shortcut Master lite (in the Play Store)
Root Browser (in the Play Store)
files in attachment
1. Go to Settings/About Phone/Software Info and hit build number 7 times to enable Developer Options
2. Go to Developer Options and make sure Enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging is checked.
3. Root with Kingroot
4. Download Root Browser from the Play Store
5. Open Root Browser, go to /carrier/apps and delete everything in it.
6. Copy the files from the attachment below to the same folder /carrier/apps. Make sure the permissions are set correctly. 'node.db' needs to be set at rw-rw 0660, 'node.db-journal' needs to be set at rw 0600. You can use Root Browser. I had no issues.
7. Now to go /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases and delete everything in it.
Now would be a good time to go to Settings/Mobile Networks/Network Mode/ and put it on GSM/UMTS
8. Power Down phone, put in your GSM SIM card, and boot on up.
9. Open up Shortcut Master lite and do a search for 'apn' without the quotes. We are looking for one that says Hidden Menu com.lge.hiddenmenu.ModemProtocol.ApnSettings. I attached a pic. Once you select it, you will need to hold down the recent windows button and choose New APN, or just select the one already there from Sprint/Boost and edit it. Your choice...
Once you are done adding/editing APN, don't forget to hit the recent window button again to save APN. If you just hit the back button, you will have to redo it. Once saved, then make sure it is selected. Your data should show up.
Things to keep in mind:
You might not get LTE. Sprint has different bands/frequencies than GSM.
You will get HSPA & HSPA+. I did a speed test on AT&T Go Phone SIM and was getting 12mbps easily.
I did a ##72786# BEFORE I did these steps. Every reboot it tries to do a Hands Free Activation. It doesn't mess nothing up, but just annoying. Also I get a message saying 'can't complete init setup due to GSM network' You can ignore that also. Also, since my device wasn't activated first, my hotspot options disappeared. I haven't found a way to put it back yet.
Signal Meter only shows 3G, but Settings/Status shows HSPA or HSPAP (+) (see screenshots)
I think the SIM card you are going to use has to be active? I tried a T-mobile SIM and didn't get no signal. My AT&T SIM was. Let us know, please.
To undo what we just did, just dial ##72786# in dialer. My Tribute 5 is bad ESN for Boost Mobile, so I can't activate it to get rid of the HFA or get the hotspot feature back. I'm sure someone here will figure it out.
I did do an extra step with Shortcut Master, but I don't think it is required. Its just another way to set the Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA/ when Boost Mobile actually gives us the option without leaving it out. Since it is a 'Global' Phone
Post your screenshots of some Speed Tests. Lets see what this phone is capable of.

Hii Guys
Why?
"i brought a second hand mi a1 and when i inserted my sim cards in it and used it for two days, i was able to notice that indoor network is not sufficient (only one or two bars) and very much network fluctuations are there, While my Other phone with same sim cards is having 4 bars of network Then i have done some research about LTE Bands And Fixed it"
This Worked Me For AIRTEL & JIO
What i Have Done?
1. Enabled the LTE Band 8 ( which was disabled by default)
2. Disabled the LTE Band 40 & 41
LTE Band 8 is Used By Network providers for indoor network ( Like Airtel and Jio in India)
After This My Internet Speed Is Increased indoor and Outdoor also Not any Issue And Network Fluctuations are Fixed Completely
So i Am Sharing This Step by Step Guide :
Requirements:
1. Mi A1
2. Data Cable
3. PC/Laptop With QPST And QXDM Latest Version Installed (Links Below)
Step 1. Connect Your Phone With PC in Diagnostic Mode
To Enter Diagnostic Mode:
Rooted Devices
Adb Commands
Code:
adb shell
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
Non Rooted
Dial *#*#717717#*#* ( Not Worked For me )
Step 2. Open QXDM Professional And Select Communications From Tools Menu-
(You Will be able to see your device if it is connected properly)
Select Your Device Port And Press OK
Step 3. Select NV Browser in First Dropdown Menu And LTE in Second Dropdown
Now You Will See A File " LTE_BC_CONFIG" Select it And Press READ button
A value will be displayed in Lowe Half Double Click on it and Copy it and save in a notepad
Step 4. Enter 148 Instead of That Value and Press Write Button
Step 5. Restart Your Phone And Enjoy ! :good:
( Restore Original Copied Value or Use LTE Band Calculator For Restoring Fectory Settings)
I will try to Provide links But You can Also Download QPST,QXDM and Qualcomm Drivers Manually By Searching Easily Available on Internet :silly:
Sorry Unable to Post links Because this is my first Thread
Didn't know airtel/jio uses band 8.
