[Q] Still not getting the 4.4.3 update! Moto G dual sim variant india - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Moto G dual sim india still hasn't seen any 4.4.3 update. Been checking regularly.
Are there others as well with the same issue?
Edit Scratch that. Saw some other threads about people not getting the update.

1: It isnt an issue, it will come eventually dude calm down. its not a major update why so much hype?

Nope..! The update is not yet available for India. Recently, it has arrived for Brazil XT1033, maybe we are next.
The update is "Minor one" but still a big update for Indian XT1033 due numerous issues related with network and relatively lengthy discussion ongoing in Motorola Forums over HERE

motorola is now buy by lenovo thats y its so late of updates
1. so y nexus in india got every updates but not moto g .but in the start when flipkkart give mobiles at that time motorola told every one that its mobile products will get updates first,it is late now bcz at that time its in the google hand and now in lenovo???????
2. i dont think if motorola phones will not get updates by then it is a not good deal and also not worthy.i just purchase it bcz google told this mobiles will get latest updates.if updates are not come .this phone is worthless.people buy this phone bcz of google n there services.which now lack.

That's what Verizon says in the ad and on their website.
However, I have been burned by Verizon before when they promised Gingerbread
on a couple of Samsung smartphones. (again, in the ad and on the website)
However, the update never materialized as of today. I have long since gave up
hope or bothered with them.
Just wondering if it's possible for Verizon pull this again with a flagship phone
like the Moto G. (flagship in their prepaid phones)
If they have guaranteed you to upgrade then you have to believe this....or also not.
But as far as i have read the rollout started already.

which one is better?

i want to buy moto g but its hard for me to find which model is better?
single sim or dual?
google play version or not?
i mean which one have better xperiance?

tnx bro
what about roms? which one is better? motorola or google play version?
generally nexsus are more better.cuse better support .but i dont know motorola
which one have better support for updates and what difference did you seen in motorola rom and google ?
Currently most ROMs only support single SIM variants with very limited support to dual sim devices or none at all, but this can change later.
The moto g runs stock android. Its not a custom skinned rom like HTC and Samsung like to do. So really, the only difference is the GPE doesn't have the 3 Motorola apps (migrate, help, and the better moto camera app). Also, the GPE will get updates a couple months before.
My suggestion is get the normal moto g because of the camera app is better. Though, really in day to day use, you'll never notice if its the normal one or the play edition.

3 actually usefull apps and also Regular Moto G has an F2fs file system which was first used in moto x and promises faster random data reads ( faster read performances )
And about the updates....You can be sure that as soon as Moto G gpe would get any s/w update...it will be ported soon enough to regular one too

>Dual vs Single: Dual SIM
Why?
Because you will have space for one extra SIM if some day you need it, no harm in having two slots while if you have only one you might need to buy a new phone just for an extra SIM.
>Google Play vs Moto Version: Google Play
Why?
You will get unlocked Boot loader with warranty which you loose out in Moto Version in case you unlock your Boot loader.
Its like they unlock the boot loader for you with the warranty intact.
This will allow you to play with different ROMs without loosing out your warranty.
For software support, Google ROM support will always be better than Motorola any day.
Further, in case of Hardware issues you shall be contacting Motorola in both cases so you aren't loosing out nothing
by buying a Google play edition.
Verdict: Dual SIM Google Play Edition :good:
Edit: as mentioned by @jaspreet997
Such phone is not available and also I have checked up the same.
So then opt for Simple SIM GPE untill and unless a dual SIM is very very important to you.
Are there any dual sim gpe being sold anywhere? I think not
tanx again
generally single sims have better development(i dont know about motorola).if its true on motorola.its more important than one sim more
in my country motorola havent eny office and the waranty isnt meaning here!
i think moto version will get updates as soon as the GPE got
so the motorola one sim looks better
thank you all

Reading this I again realized how different we people are. Because I would vote for a single sim regular phone instead.
- Why single sim? Because of the fact there are much more roms supporting only the single sim variant. Of course there will be dual sim roms, but when? I dont know? If in a month, then thats good. If in six months, thats bad ... many of us dont usually keep devices like this more than a year and being without flashing half of the time - nope, thanks!
- Why regular? I like what (little) Ive heard abou F2FS. And I dont care about warranty - I already have no warranty for my phone because I screwed up the purchase ... but thats another story
So, my advice - unless you need dual sim (or are going to need it soon), get regular single-sim.
Or not, it doesnt really matter lol ...

Good points.
Regarding f2fs, how hard can it be to format a partition? I'm actually wondering the answer to this, as I have the GPE and it seems CM11 for the Moto G just went official. But like you said, it looks like the GPE and the dual-sim owners will have to wait longer.

I sure hope so. I have 5 of these phones in my family. This update has been too slow comming. It seems the the CDMA version has been overlooked. I have been told the Moto g was Motorola's top seller of all time. Maybe they are having second thoughts of planned obsolescence. Does this matter to anyone else? It is alredy June and I was hoping for my lollipop in Februrary

Lollipop at last

Hi Guys.
I've got a sim-free Note3 and I'm using an O2 sim. Yesterday the Lollipop v5.0 was pushed to my device.
Does anyone know if that means that I'll get a further update to 5.01, 5.02, 5.x sometime soon?
Thanks.
Steve

If its an O2 phone you get the O2 update .
Sim is nothing to do with updates .
O2 Android 5 has been available for weeks .
Thanks guys. I've no idea what 'csc' is?
It's not an O2 phone, it's sim-free, I just happen to use an O2 sim with it - does that make a difference?
It might have been available for weeks, but it only got pushed to my phone yesterday.
Thanks
Steve
I highly believe we will get Android M update, officially.
@OP: Just enjoy the 5.0 update. There won't be any 5.0.1 or 5.0.2, at least not very soon. Cause 5.0 has been available for a lot of countries for over two months now, and there is absolutely no scene of 5.0.1 or 2, so better believe that those won't come. I am just happy to see that Samsung finally pushed an update which got rid of that delay while clearing recent apps, however that was just release for one country, but I am sure a wider scale of the same will be released soon.
Thanks guys! That's just what I feared. Just shame that such a great phone lags behind other, older models. My wife's Galaxy S4 is on 5.01!
A phone has a number of codes ( as shown in Kies )
Basically if its a O2 supplied phone it will have an O2 code and O2 are the ones that update the firmware if they want to .
Generic non branded as in UK BTU may or may not be in advance or delayed .
Who gets the upgrade first is very varied and over the years its varied from country to country getting first releases . Usually the non branded gets released well before the branded stuff .
Thanks. I'd read that sim-free unbranded phones were always LAST to get updates. It's confusing!

update old droid ultra

I have a droid ultra with 4.4.4 software. last update was 2016. I want to update to at least 5.0 because some of the apps I want require it. The phone says I have the latest update. I want to keep the phone because I live in the country and this phone gives me fairly good reception. Three other phones in the vicinity have bad reception. Verison says I can't update it. It this true? Thanks
