Hello,
This all started when I got my first smartphone. I had three HTC Incredible 2s due to WiFi issues. Fast forward to my macbook, white spots on the screen. Upgrade time, I went through 4 repairs on a Razr HD due to dirt upset the glass and burn in. Sold it, bought an s3. Uneven colors and dirt again. Traded to a droid DNA. Had dirt under the screen. Sent out for repair like 10 times. Dead pixels, stuck pixels, blue dots, broken ports, etc. sold it for an LG g2. The g2 had multiple white dots from pressure, so I sold it and went back to a different DNA. this one has a really dark backlight on the lower left corner. My first iPod had white dots, the second one had metal shavings under the screen. Sold it. Went to the iPod touch 5, had random dark banding, new one is fine. MacBook pro has dirt under the glass but not much, and it can be cleaned. Tried out the nexus 7 2013 and both had dead/stuck pixels and banding. I got the Xperia Tablet Z and the first one has a green piece of dirt or plastic under the glass and uneven screen tint. The second one has 7-10 stuck pixels and severe backlight bleed. My old LCD tv had stuck pixels, my new one I went through 3 before getting one without severe banding, but it has lots of clouding and backlight bleed. My monitor has a stuck green sub pixel. Am I just unlucky? Seriously wondering this. I'm debating on giving the Xperia tablet z one more exchange...

Does anyone else have a screen that has a slight yellow tint on the top? It's noticeably obvious if you are on an all white (or mostly) screen like the google website. It's not uniform with the entire screen as the middle to bottom would look white while the top would look yellowish white. I don't wanna bash but I'm really tired of HTC qc these days. I have not encountered a flawless G2 (returned 4 times) or myTouch 4G (returned 3 times). If it's not a really loose hinge, it's the dead pixels, dust under the screen, and now yellow tint on top of the screen. Not to mention the off-centered ffc which I don't really mind. I think I'm gonna go to HTC and ask for a replacement once enough time has passed production has settled down.
I had one like that, returned it and got one with dust under the screen =/

Yea it's always one defect or another with this phone. Getting tired of it.
Hi waiaung1,
Can you take a short photo for the yellow tint issue?
hello,
Are you satisfied with the tf300t screen quality? I think the black on mine is a little uneven with really faint lines when the screen is completely black.do you think it is normal?
thanks
It would be way better if it weren't for the large areas of light bleed around the edges and corners! Other than than, I'm satisfied.
I get loads of backlight bleeding on mine. The screen as a whole (including the glass surface) seems a step backward from the TF101.
I just started noticing light bleed on the left and right sides of mine. Nothing major, only really noticeable on the loading screen and to a lesser extent, my primarily black wallpaper (a style I tend to favor).
Other than that, I have no complaints. Although, if I fire up Angry Birds Space and put it right next to my girlfriends iPad 2, it definitely does not look quite as nice.

My old Prime had some noticable bleeding several places around the edges, but that was only visible when displaying black and at a high brightness.
I've always hated light bleeding, and also uneven black-levels, but I always get devices with these errors no matter what... I've had 6 different LCD-TV's, and every one of them has had various problems with light bleeding / uneven backlight / black levels - so i started to think it wasn't possible to get it perfect, and that it was only me who was being too demanding.
However, my TF300T seems perfect - guess I'm lucky with this one
I just bought this tablet and there is one spot (about the size of my thumb, in the lower left quadrant of the screen) that shows up lighter against a dark background-- for ex. when it's booting up.
It's bothering me but I haven't decided if I'll attempt to get it exchanged (I could get a worse one?).
well,I just found a tiny little dot on the screen. It doesn't seem to be a dead pixel but a tiny hole in the polarizer...
On my second device. Traded my 16 for a 32gbversion when they first released them. My 16 screen was perfect out of the box, no bleed, no dead pixels. My 32 looks like a shop light when booting but i don't notice it during use. Watch out,the screens scratch soooo easy. Definitely pick up a screen guard, this isn't gorilla glass.

i can confirm this as well although it doesn't bother me at all, the scratches are light so you don't see them when the screen is on. i'd rather have a few light scratches then a screen protector since i always get lint or dust stuck under the protector, even when i'm extra carefull and this bothers me more than scratches.

Ok, on my cliq, half the touch screen isn't working. I popped off the battery and the white circle is only slightly pink. I don't know exactly what happened to the phone, but im pretty sure it's liquid damage. When the phone is off, there are no visible marksmon the screen, but when it is on, there is light purple line extending from the bottom of the screen to almost the center. The parts on the line work fine, but anything to the left doesn't work. I was wondering if I should go with a digitizer, or lcd replacement?
Thanks!
Dude that phone is as old as Android... It would be cheaper to replace the phone with a more modern one on CL. Even a phone much more modern than the Cliq will be cheaper than buying parts for the old phone and hoping that fixes it.

Looking for opinions.
Ordered my 5 on day one. It had a stuck pixel and a little bleed. Probably should have RMA, but wanted to wait a bit. As luck would have it I cracked the screen before I got around to it. So I replaced it myself with this:

After 2 months use, the screen has rapidly deteriorated. I can even notice the defects in TWRP and on the boot screen. Doesn't TWRP kind of load it's own kernel? That kind of rules out any kind of software problems. Any suggestions for where to get a more reliable screen replacement? I sent the following to the seller:
Hi,
I carefully read the reviews on this product. Some claimed that the screen may not be OEM equipment and was not as pictured in the display. It seemed like a risk, but I needed a screen.
I have replaced many screens several of my devices and my children's devices. The swap was effortless. When I booted my phone with the new screen, it appeared to be a major success again. There were no dead or stuck pixels and minimal back light bleed around the edges. The only noticeable issue was a very bright area around the soft keys. Particularly on white pages.
The screen was installed in early April, and recently I have noticed it become gradually duller with an increase of bleed around the edges. Then yesterday, things got much worse very quickly. I noticed greenish bleed/band around all edges. The bright white around the soft keys is brighter. There is a 1/8 inch band around the top of the screen that is very dark. It is not very bright and the colors are dull. From previous experiences, I know that these are signs that it will only get worse.
One of the reviews talked about a similar situation: Looked great at first, and deteriorated after a month or so.
I would like to request a replacement screen for my Nexus 5.
Thank you.
I've had 3 nexus 5s till date. First had a yellow tint and when compared to the two Nexus 5s my friend has, mine looked flushed and dull. The second piece had a little lesser yellow tint (but it was yellow) but the front camera lens wasn't aligned and looked aesthetically defective. The third, again, had a yellow tint but also had a dead pixel. Got a DOA, the shop keeper is willing to give me another phone. (p.s. - All three were from different places, so it's not the stock which is defective)
Should I settle for something like an s4 or note 3 neo? :/ Or should I give N5 another try (Also, is the yellow tint very common or am i just unlucky?)
Maybe you have cataracts?
The yellow screen will go away with use. It's the adhesive between the digitizer and glass and it will cure with time.
