Hello... I am a new ( noob ) in THE XDA forum. So if I do a things that I'm not supposed to do, told it to me. ( I speak french so I will do my best I can )
Now the real things:
- I flash my GT-S5830"D" to cyanogen 7,1 ; 9, official, unofficial... What ever, with no * succes. (I dont now if the "D" is important)
The wifi always crash ( need to close and re-open it ), my ACE wont receive SMS or share it "sometimes" and the DEL brightness always change ( the screen become black and after it come like normal )
- I'm with Koodo ( TELUS ). I think that Koodo are the problem, because they make our Android OS and bla bla.
- If you cant help me for CyanogenMod, try to restore of my first OS.
-->I backup it with CWM 5, but it wont install it correctly. ( boot logo stay on the "Galaxy ACE bla bla..." )
Very big thanks.
P.S. if you help me and it work, I will work to help programing Galaxy ACE! I promise.
try restoring it via CWM recovery.. if no success try flashing via odin.. hope it helped

Yes I've try full or not with Odin and the firmwares install with no problem. It is when I open the phone problem start. I can rarely share a SMS or receive.
So I'm relly thinking that a need a special Koodo firmware or a developper who can create me a special firmware.
Okay,
First thing, CM7 will work with your Ace.
Second thing, you cannot use CWM to restore a backup of a stock ROM.
Third thing, check your APN settings. You are going to need to manually create a Sp.koodo.com APN with all the settings detailed inside.
Did you have any problems flashing?

Yes you cannot flash your stock ROM with CWM, flash it with odin instead.
About installing-uninstalling thing nope it will not break your motherboard and it has nothing to do with it
Just flash a different ROM via CWM 4 or 5. My favorite is the Myth, it's based on stock with a couple of nice performance mods. It works great on the Ace.
PS. Don't listen to Koodo, they don't know what they are talking about...

You may try flasing tj_droid Stocklite v6.. based on the latest firmware DDKQ8, Pure stock bareboned + Scripts - will definitely makes your phone smooth..
Try a new one
Well if u do wanna switch to cyananogen then why are u trying CM7.1??
Go for 7.2 and best try Miracle v4ROM on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583871
Just follow the simple instructions
Remember to adhere strictly to the instructions otherwise u can get into problem
After installing u will not see your messages..so in that thread some files like <All System Apps> are given..unzip them and put on ur SD..
then using any Root explorer paste those files (like mms.apk for messaging service) in /system/apps
Thats all...u will see a great ROM...extremely fast with ICS layouts..
Don't forget to hit THANKS if i helped..

Ok my problem seem to be resolved... On the internet I finally found a Koodo 2.3.4 galaxy ace firmware to flash with ODIN. So I flash it, but I reinstall CM 7.2.0 FAT KANG and it seem to work now!! But Cyanogen doesn't detect Koodo carrier, it just detect Rogers, Telus (Telus=Koodo) and an other like 3016...

To answer your question or anyone else's, you'll have to change the CSC to Telus/Koodo. But first make sure you're on a full-package DTLKI4 firmware
First, write down your IMEI that you find in About Phone > Status
Then go into your phone dialer and punch in *#272*your imei#
You'll have a list of CSC codes to choose from, and hopefully TLS/KDO will be on there.
Changing your csc WILL do a complete factory reset on your phone, so be prepared to do that.
Great thanks

HELP
Hello everyone, I am a noob that needs some help here. I have the samsung galaxy ace s5830D and I can't install any custom roms. I rooted with superoneclick. But I still can't install any roms. Please help me someone.
I've been looking for a solution for this everywhere. Please, I would be so grateful.
Hey guys im gunna try to keep it short. happen to be browsing thru android Q&A and saw a thread of people trying to get root on a phone so i figured id help em out
luckily sammobile had the stock tar up for it so it was just a matter of grabbing that, unpacking the initramfs. then grabbing kernel source and compiling a rooting kernel.
Kernel
Odin
Drivers
Credits:
Sammobile for having the tar
hallihallo87 for testing my kernel
Like my work? you could always help pay for my daughters college
Instructions
Download the 3 files above
extract odin-1.85.zip
install the drivers
click on pda and select the rooted kernel tar
put your phone into download mode
Download mode is power + volume down + home
once you are in download mode connect via usb
you should see a yellow com pop up in the far left box
click start
congrats
sorry for the vague instructions guys they will improve as time goes on as people who actually have the phone chip in
Works great. Thanks!
Downloadmode is power + volume down + home
Sent from my Sensational phone
Looks great! I'm about to try. Thanks
Works great on my beam. Thanks a lot!!
Rooting successful!
Rooting via Odin with this kernel really ROOT my Galaxy Beam i8530. Kudos to ShabbyPenguin! :good:
Has anyone tried the SIXAXIS tool for PS3 Controllers? it doesn't seem work for me unfortunately.
I've read that the rom probably doesn't have all required bluetooth protocols in order to make it work and that a custom rom like Cyanogen will be required.
Would it be possible to take the Bluetooth Stack from a Cyanogen mod and put it in the Galaxy Beam ROM? Maybe from the Samsung Galaxy S2 Cyanogen Mod as the phone is mostly the same minus the projector.
I doubt there will ever be a Cyanogen Mod project for the Galaxy Beam unfortunately.
glad everyone is having good success with this

We will need to port ClockwordMod, so the cfw will be easier, but i don´t know how to make a dump. I only have a dump from Odin Mobile.
We need to look at "Samsung I9070 Galaxy S Advance" as it is the same phone (without projector) all the specs is the same, not Galaxy S II.
But i can see if i can get it to work tomorrow. I have a Ps3 (3.55 CFW)

I'm also still looking for a way to add usb host mode.
@shabbypenguin Kudos to you !! , you've done awesome. the root is working fine and only thing all us can hope is CWM recovery if you could help us in that it would be amazing, though i am willing to help in development (like beta testing / dumps). hopefully we shall have CWM soon and make use of this awesome phone.

hope soon have custom roms for this projector phone
hi there,
successfully rooted my beam but ever since the focus for the projector doesn't work anymore.
anyone else with this problem or my phone have a hardware problem ?
how can I go back to official kernel please ?
thanks
update:
I installed the latest firmware LH3 from samfirmware.
the focus still didn't work after that so I shook the phone a little bit and it came back to life so I guess it wasn't a software problem.
I'll keep you informed if further development arouse
TWRP?
So.... the guys over at a thread for hacking the i9070 (galaxy s advance):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640757
were successfull at embedding TWRP (recovery) into their kernel. Since this phone is very similar to the i8530, i was wondering how risky it would be to flash that kernel on the i8530. If anybody has any knowlege about this, please enlighten me so that I can have a better understanding about the risk i would be taking if i flash my i8530 with the hacked kernel for the i9070. (e.g.. will the difference in screen technology cause any problems? i8530=tft, i9070=super amoled.

since i dotn have the phone im not going to bother checking on the device files everyday so if someone could PM when new kernel source comes out ill update my kernel

i have read in the forum somewhere that i9070 guys have successfully integrated TWRP (Team Win recovery project ) recovery in their phones, so probably we can have that one because apart from screen and projector all is same, is it worth the mention ?

here is a test cwm build i made, please lemme know how/if it works.
if it boots into cwm then dont flash anything, do a backup and let me know the sizes etc of the backup files. would hate for you to brick your phone cuz you wanted to restore a backup etc

as far as future firmwares are concerned, so long as its GB this rooted kernel should work. when you get an update to ICS i will absolutly have to make a new one for yall. but i cant do so until http://awesomescreenshot.com/0dch109f6 gets updated :/
I take notice that there is little support for the U.S. version of the Galaxy Player 3.6. in the way of custom roms and whatnot. I have manged to root mine and remove all the bs apps. I am looking to install clockworkmod to the device and have not been sucessful in finding a way to do so. Are there any suggestions someone may have? I am willing to use my device experimentally for testing if necessary.

I mean youtube doesnt work, fruit ninja, chrome, firefox, clockworkmod manager, google play shows only 70 apps for free popular apss for that tablet but i am pretty sure there is 500 apps on google play for free. sometimes launcher is not working well. chrome, firefox fruit ninja etc apps tablet says that ''those apps doesnt supported by that tablet '' ... and wi-fi has some problem, even next to router , tablet says that connection is so bad ... I can count so many problems ... I am trying to flash CyanogenMod 10 4.1.1 because it's totaly perfect. it has not kind of problems which i have mentioned before in this post.
Only problem is camera and touch screen don't work. but i can use it by plugging usb mause and it works fine. i hope you understand my problem ... Thanks!

After going back to the stock one, I have managed to follow through the TWRP installation, and now the phone is rooted and running.
Maybe there are different ROMs, so passing through the stock is the way to go around.

I really like this phone for its size and price, it also looks nice, but in reviews it looks like the stock software is not that great. Could somebody make a quick review of it on CyanogenMod?
Does anyone know how to port a ROM to it?
This is an incredibly unique phone in today's market and I'd like to see it be supported by the developer/modder community.
Thanks!

What is the version of the TWRP that you are using?
Run TWRP Recovery and do Factory Reset - Data, Dalvik-Cache, Cache
Then go back to the main screen and go to the section "Install"
Select the firmware in .zip and move the slider and wait for the end of installation
After moving to the home screen and go to the "Restart" and restart the phone.
Can you tell us the details? How did you tried and what were the results? Thanks.
