I am not able to open recovery mode in micromax a89.
I pressed volume up+power button, but the adroid logo with some buttons on its body and a exlemetary sign on it is the only thing that is displayed. I am not getting any menu or options. What should i do?

If you are using the stock recovery, it will happen every time when u want to boot your phone into recovery mode. for that you just need to press the home key for options, and to select option press the menu key.

just press the home key when you get the android symbol with exclemation sign... It seems you are using stock recovery because CWM or TWRP recoveries does not show these type of symbols..
Use MobileUncle Tools. You can directly boot to recovery from that app.

Hi i just flashed my transformer to this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514658
and now i can't go into recovery help please
Vol down plus power button and when you see words at top left corner you must push Vol up within 5 second.
Alternative is use the "Transformer boot into recovery" app from market.
Btw what is it doing when you try to get into recovery?
Are you trying to get into recovery by an app, or using the buttons as baseballfanz described?
If you cannot get into recovery using the buttons you may have to reinstall the "RecoveryInstaller.apk" for CWM to get it working again.
I can boot into Clockwork Recovery using the app but actually what is the exact button combinations to boot in to Clockwork Recovery?
Thanks.

Turn off. Hold VOL DOWN and POWER for about 10-12 seconds until small text appears. Tap the VOL UP within 5 seconds of when it says to press VOL UP to enter RCK.
Hey guys I have a recovery problem. I rooted my O1 and then tried to install cwm using app from market but when I try to enter recovery it starts fastboot Hopefully normal mode works and the phone boots into rom. So I tried reviving it using this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088046 but still have the same problem. So what do I have to do ????
I have another question: I found in settings of rom manager erase recovery prior to flashing an.I didn't tick it so do I have to tick it???

If your phone isn't stuck in fastboot now can't u just enter recovery by holding power +home +vol down (while switched off) ??? Or is ur problem entring it through Rom manager?

You dont need to tick Erase Recovery.
Press HOME + VOLUME then power.. keep holding them til you see recovery!!
If it doesnt work.. flash recovery again using Rom Manager.
Also try to get into recovery through rom manager if nothing works!!
I'm having the same issue. Just flashed CWM with Rom Manager today. It worked a few times, but now it's not. I cannot select any option on the list. The back and search buttons blank out the screen except for the rom manager logo (also the background) and if I hit them again, the "cursor" has moved up or down, depending. If I press the power button, it also blanks out the screen except for the logo, but when I press it again, the cursor goes back to the top. The only button that doesn't make it blank out is volume down. Home and Menu buttons do nothing.
Also, doesn't matter if I load recovery manually or through RM.
UPDATE: Managed to get it stuck on the RM Logo. Nothing does anything.
UPDATE: Flashed VM670 Recovery with FlashImageGUI and am getting similar results. Now both volume keys allow for selecting, home and menu allow for selecting with the cleared screen, and power, back, and search do nothing but move the cursor to the top. If I hold the power button, though, the screen flashes and the cursor doesn't move.
I had same problem on my vm670 try using camera button to select . Worked for me

Don't forget that the camera button is a 2-step button. You have to press it all the way in for it to register in CWM. Also, I'm running CWM 3.2.0.1 and the Volume buttons work for me just fine.
And for the one who couldn't get into recovery, have you tried booting normally, connecting it to your computer, and running this at a command prompt?
adb reboot recovery

Just turn off and try to boot into recovery mode with combinations of volume +/ volume - / power button. After, wait sony logo apears and click again in these three button combinations. If you have rooted your phone, try to install a custom recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696987.

The key combination is " Volume - " and "Power" pressed together. but before that you need to flash a custom recovery.
As soon as you press this combination, SONY logo will appear and device will vibrate, leave the keys at this point.

If you are rooted and installed Super User you can go to Play store and download Quick Boot then hit "Recovery", it will allow you boot to recovery without holding buttons.
Thanks Bro, As I have already rooted my phone, can I just copy the font in SD card and install the font from SD from CWM mode?????

How are you entering recovery? What steps? Do you have custom recovery TWRP installed or are you talking about stock recovery?

Im talking about stock recovery...
Googled it and found the steps.
1. Volume down + Power key.
2. Then with volume key select Recovery mode.
3. It shows 'no command' with red exclamation Android logo.
Now comes the steps I was missing...
4. Press & hold the power key, then press the volume up button once holding the power key & then release the power button.
5. It boots to the stock recovery.
Are these steps correct or is there any other way ?

- Enter recovery.
- When you see the "no command" with the android red exclamation, hold power button and press volume+
-Hold both for a second then release power.
- You should see the recovery menu now.
