Don't worry, you don't have to leave your house
When: 10 AM PDT tomorrow(6/15/14)
Where: In this thread, in #towelroot on freenode, and at towelroot.com
Software live at https://towelroot.com RIGHT NOW!
Please report bugs to my gmail geohot+towelroot or in this thread.
New version will be released later today hopefully fixing them.
Definitely invited: AT&T GS5, Verizon GS5, GS4 Active, Nexus 5
May have some troubles at the door but invited: AT&T/Verizon Note 3
Possibly invited: Every Android phone with a kernel build date < Jun 3
Stay tuned right here for updates. I'm coming for that bounty.
v3 is live! More support. Reboot on your own time. modstrings
What's a modstring?
A way to support your obscure phone!
Since I don't own every phone, you can fix it yourself
http://towelroot.com/modstrings.html
And modstrings have their first success!
On LG L34C use "1337 0 0 0 4 0"
Eventually the server will push these if people find enough
Still no real HTC/Moto support from phones without writable system.
If someone is willing to give me one of these phones for testing I'll add good support.
Same deal for Exynos.
Killed bugs:
Note 3 with kernel 3.4.0-722276 is FIXED! Redownload.
Fixed Note 3 with kernel 3.4.0-636608 thanks to analytics.
Download failed issue should be fixed.
Fixed Sprint Note 3 with kernel 3.4.0-951486
Nexus 5 v2 issue fixed
Known bugs:
Note 3 with kernel 3.4.0-257432 doesn't seem to work. Updating to 722276 should fix.
Newest Moto and HTC don't currently work because /system is write protected.
Detected as Andr.Exploit.Ratc by some virus scanners. It is an Android exploit. Will not fix.
Does it trip KNOX?
Most probably not. My phone says "KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0", but no promises.
What's your paypal?
[email protected] if the tool works for you.
I also have a bitcoin: 1DFhk6fs26AafaNiQyEgdGM7NSaLzVN2VE
What's the hash of the apk file?
towelroot.com has https now!
People having DNS issues should clear their cache.
Will this brick my phone?
Most probably not. towelroot alone hasn't bricked a phone yet.
The stupid decisions you make once you have root are all your own however.
I rooted, what's next?

Don't think that iPhone 5c or .50 cal is remotely related to a Note3.
Too off topic.

Won't you miss all these features from TW?
Don't get me wrong, if this was any other device it would be on CM ASAP but this is a Note and has a ton of features that will not make it outside of Touchwhiz

Not really! I had the note 2 and then went to the nexus 4 because I thought having a nexus would be the best thing. Unfortunately it was pretty boring compared to the notes features besides screen size. Then after using CM it was OK but still there isn't much to AOSP.
But that's me! And my opinion and I highly doubt I will ever flash CM until maybe when the note 4 comes.

Also had the nexus 4. My ROM of choice was ParanoidAndroid and the Hybrid engine, Per-App-Color, and other things made stock android much more interesting (without comprimising the looks). The only TW feature I use is Screen Write, but the app "Ink over Apps" takes care of that. Combine with GMD S-Pen Gesture control and you've got the best of both worlds.

I don't know. I just found my self making my nexus to look like Touchwhiz

Hey guys, was wondering if some one out there in this awesome world of XDA would be a to make a universal themed ROMS that is inspired by the Evangelion franchise.
Several years ago Sharp released a below standard phone with what I can only describe as the BEST looking theme I have ever seen to date... and this was bk in the days of gingerbread!
Since then the hardware has increased ten fold and although some themes or mods have come close, no one has, in my mind surpassed the way this themed ROMs looked.
Please find below a link to a video regarding this, forget it's in Russian but focus on the ROMs.
Anyone out there reading this who knows of any ROM builders that could undertake this?
Again not looking for themed widgets, looking for either a port or ROM.

i would be happy just to have some that work on the duel sim .. you have no idea how frustrating it is not to have it.
Being an Eva fan myself, I find this very relevant to my interests.
However, it seems that your request for a Rom or Launcher port isn't coming until an interested XDA member gets ahold of the phone themselves.
The closest that was gotten can be found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290194
Basically a Chinese Blogger got ahold of the phone, wrote about it, and dumped some System files.
People tried to get them to port, but were unsuccessful, for the most part.
Seems some things, though, such as the official MAGI Widgets were able to be Deodexed and Signed and working on phones.
The thread died in September, however.
QNBT has managed to recreate the feel and performance of the SH-06D launcher using Nova and UCCW.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025464
I know it's not exactly what you are looking for, but it's close for now. (Though I'm sure you are aware of it.)
In this thread, someone found a Japanese blog where someone else configured it through a different launcher called Glaeja.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1666996
So, there you go.
Seems nobody's quite done what you're asking yet.
But perhaps you can find some skilled people to assist the first thread in picking apart the system files.
Best of luck!
Ryo I think this challenge will be unanswered as there's not enough people who think this is worth the effort... :'(

It is not dead...I've been working at this for a few days now..the major issue is the SH-06D has a glass free 3d interface just like the Nintendo 3ds...MAGIhome depends on that hardware..cracking it is proving difficult.

Hello guys,
These past 2 years were some if the must fun I have ever had with a phone. Rooting and installing a custom ROM was a totally new experience and the first time rooting was nerve wrecking. My blaze had survived multiple drops and many, many custom ROMs, but the time has come for me to move on. I have now acquired the LG g2 and wow, this phone is amazing. The same I said when I got our little blaze. I will still check in from time to time and I still have my blaze so I could occasionally do some testing. Anyways guys, I will now be moving to my new home(both in real life and on xda ) thanks for the great time!
Sincerely,
Veliion

New home, new beginning xD (at least in my family, they use that term).

Thank you good sir. Didn't know that was there even after looking I'll admit. So it seems like a lot of other people are having the same problem. It definitely makes dealing with something easier when you're not the only one and saves from having to troubleshoot.
Edit : can confirm its something between XDA and our ISPs.
The problem I described happens on Xfinity Comcast Internet.
However, the problem does not occur at all on LTE T-Mobile.
