RUU? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

If I flash an RUU does that make me S-On and relock my bootloader? If so where can I find one? If it doesn't relock or do S-On can I get some instructions? I just see instructions on how to root etc but not vice versa.
Thanks

No it will not make you S-on or re-lock your bootloader. What are you trying to achieve exactly? Return to stock?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727831 for RUU, that'll take you back to stock but not back to s-on or locked bootloader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699065 you can try this tool to relock the bootloader, you don't need to re s-on though. apparently it's very risky on the Verizon m8

back to complete stock

With all the bootloader unlocking and flashing up to different RUU's, etc..
Will there be a way that someone might be able to come up with a procedure to revert back to complete stock?
Just wondering if you get going flashing roms and encounter a problem where you will need to exchange or take back your phone, a way to get it to stock form.
thanks
1.change you cid back to your original one.
2. relock your bootloader.
3. flash a ruu..

Has anyone came up with a way to change the cid back to stock
and I thought if you were on 1.85, you simply couldnt flash a prior ruu

one you have unlocked your bootloader, your phone will either say unlocked or relocked. There's nothing that we can do about that. even if you changed the CID back to the AT&T one.
SuperCID means you can flash any RUU you want

So I guess the best we can do is flash the stock ruu at the time and relock it and hope for the best.

you worried about returning a phone? It's been my experience that they don't look.

[Q] Return to full stock

So, I have done a lot of research and I am hung up on one bit.
I have the stock RUU file on my PC.
I also have superCID . I am rooted with S-OFF
Think i used Revolutionary etc. Currently using ARHD 6.8.0
I want to return to Full Stock with S-ON. I looked at this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
But it doesn't say if I need to change my CID back to VODAP001 before or after (Or at all) I flash the Stock RUU. <hope that makes sense?
Could anyone help me?
I basically have the RUU. and need to know about the CID. Does it need to be changed?
Thanks
Just seen this actually
I can confirm SuperCID is successful as i just flashed a Tmous Rom (1.25.***) to my EU unbranded device to check. (added t-mobile tv and other carrier stuff to my apps list)
Does ^ this mean I can run the RUU with my SUPER CID?
Then just S-On once done??
thanks again.

Hi,
If you are returning your phone for warranty purposes, you need to return your SuperCID to normal.
This should be done after running your RUU,but before going back to s-on.
Look HERE for more information.

Cool, well the RUU I have will need the VODAP001 *** (I think it's that, will check before I attempt lol)
So I flash the RUU then I can use this:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid ******* Replacing the *'s with the CID I need.
Once done, can then return to S-ON

also about S-ON read carefully what it is saying about bootloader
your bootloader must be LOCKED, RELOCKED or UNLOCKED otherwise don't do S-ON

Was just about to post. Successfully flashed the RUU and changed CID to VODAP001, phone boots and works fine!!!
But in bootloader it doesn't mention, locked, unlocked or relocked.
Previously to the Update, it said ***LOCKED***
Now I got just this:
Pyramid PVT Ship S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.17.0006
RADIO-10.11.9007.09_M2
eMMC-boot
What do I need to do to S-ON???
Thanks

if your bootloader says locked now(as you are mentioning) then you can continue with S-ON
edit:what to do for S-ON?

but i think it is a simple command and then you are done

Sorry, I actually mean, before I restored the RUU it said locked. Now it doesnt mention anything.
It no longer says that, or unlocked / relocked.
So I haven't proceeded with the S-ON command.

Hi,
No.
If you ran a RUU,then, everything would have returned to stock.
S-off is not affected.
So,to get back up and running, you will need to do all these things again.

HTC One X relocked security warning and now won't do anything but boot into bootloade

Hello
I have a AT&T HTC One X, and i have tried to relock the bootloader and unroot the phone. I have only relocked the bootloader. It had the stock rom in it. Now, whenever I try doing anything to the phone, it goes back into bootloader. I tried going into recovery but no luck. Need help.

HBOOT 2.14.000. S-OFF, and I'm new to this, so I don't know
You have a custom recovery on it, I assume? Once you relock, you have to run a RUU or unlock. It won't boot up on a custom recovery after you relock.
basically, just ruu. youll be stock while retaining s-off.

It's S-ON, not S-OFF
Wait, no. If you're s-off, that shouldn't happen. You can boot on whatever when you're s-off. But running a RUU will get you back to stock regardless.
Edit: That explains it. When you're s-on, you have to RUU after relocking.

Alright. Please guide me on what to do.
Check your CID first. Running a jelly bean RUU with SuperCID (11111111) will brick your phone.

Wrong order. RUU first, then change the text in bootloader, then go back to s-on.
Also, no need to flash stock recovery, the RUU does that.

and if I want to relock the bootlader...the order will be
1. RUU
2. lock bootloader
3. change text
4. s-on
I mean... is posible to relock the bootloader and THEN change te text to locked instead of relocked
Is that correct??
It should be fine in that order seeing as you're s-off.

You'll have to spoof text before relocking you can S-ON after though or spoof it when you spoof the locked.

Back to Complete Stock HOX AT&T

Hi, my AT&T HOX has unlocked bootloader, S-OFF and CID CWS_001 , HBOOT-1.14.0002 , RADIO-0.19as.32.09.11_2 and it's rooted. I'm on stock AT&T 4.0.4 ICS and I have twrp-2.6.3.0-evita. I would like to get the phone completely back to stock. I mean I would like to remove *** TAMPERED *** banner and take from unlocked to LOCKED. I would also like to have stock recovery and update it to latest AT&T update RUU. Please tell me the steps I should take to leave it original and back to factory settings. In a few words, I would like to leave the phone as it had to go to carrier's warranty Thanks!
Just run the 3.18 RUU. At&t don't care if the phone has been unlocked, even for warranty. If you really want to change the "relocked" flag to "locked" there's a thread explaining how to do it in our forum somewhere.
