I have a friend who has this phone. The problem is I inputted the data setting for their service provider and it worked for a while, now though it doesn't work. Enabling or disabling the data settings doesn't work and on checking the Testing Menu the phone has not GPRS service and the Roaming shows Roaming also it shows that it has 3g. The 3g symbol shows up in the notification area yet it wont connect however Wifi works and Calling and Sms work as well.
I would factory reset the phone but my friend doesn't want to do that. Is there anyway to fix this.

here's the issue: when I'm not connected to home network, wifi won't transmit/receive data. I have /!\ sign in the taskbar with explanation "data disconnected because your phone is in roaming network". No matter what I do, data will not work over wifi. The same wifi AP works perfectly when in home network... anyone have this problem? any clue how to solve it?
Try enabling data roaming. Setting>Wireless Networks>Mobile Network Settings
Check "Data Roaming" Connect to data services when roaming
Having a similar issue. I'm about 300 miles from home (Chicago) in Door County WI. Weak Edge signal here. Data works over WiFi, but not over Edge. I continually get a notification saying "You have lost data connectivity because you left your home network with data roaming disabled". I now have it enabled, but the message sounds like I am SOL because I should have made the change before leaving.
To clarify, I enabled roaming 1-1/2 days ago, restarted several times and confirmed the roaming box is still enabled. But I continue to get the lost data notification.
Are you kidding me ATT? Is there no way to fix this without returning home?

after the last Droid Ultra Update to 4.4.4 I've started having this weird behavior. I'm a T-Mobile, locked bootloader.
When I'm connected to a WiFi network, the phone status bars shows signal strenght + the LTE or HSDPA symbols
When I'm NOT connect to a WiFi network the LTE or H(SDPA) icon goes away... I can do phone calls but mobile data is indeed disabled. I've double checked all the settings menu entries and data should be enabled - also the APN settings are fine ... even so the LTE/H icons appears only once I connect to WiFi.
It' driving me crazy.

When you turn on hotspot 4GLTE logo shows up, right? Unfortunate for everyone. It is some problem with the system which Verizon has populated the build.prop to disable the data outside of Verizon. Nothing could be done, as far as I could tell, until root is achieved (bootloader unlock).

The data roaming doesn't work. If I use data locally - everything works, but if I go abroad - then not. I spoke with my mobile provider - they said that my device is not supported for data roaming. If I use the same SIM on a different device - then data roaming works. This shows the problem is with my X2
If I go to Settings>More>Mobile network:
..I can't get inside that menu, nothing happens when I click on it
..my mobile operator symbol disappears for a second, and I get the following message in the notification area:
"Data roaming
You have lost data connectivity because you left your home network with data roaming turned off"
Is there any way to enable data roaming on this device?

Good morning all. Out of the blue my phone became unable to send SMS or calls. When making calls the dialer says "No SIM" and SMS fail immediately. It will receive, however. It's on LTE only mode as LTE/Utms and LTE/CDMA are completely unable to connect to Verizon at all. *#*#4636#*#* Does not show my number and voice network as shown as unknown, but the dialer and status bar say, "CDMA_less-Vz" which I have been told is correct. VoLTE is provisioned and enabled, though the IMS Service shows Voice over LTE as being unavailable.
I have tried a new SIM, network settings resets, many reboots, factory reset, and several fruitless conversations with Verizon. I wonder if part of the problem is the retirement of the CDMA network, but to my understanding everything should be routed over LTE. Internet data works just fine though. Any guidance will be wildly appreciated!

As the title states, i didn't make any change to the phone but now i can't get data or phone calls even tho it shows i'm connected.
I've tried:
Resetting Network settings
Clearing cache on the dialer and a few sys apps
Clearing cache on the system level from recovery
Swapping the sim to another device proved that it's a problem on this device alone
Looking at the phone info menu from *#*#4636#*#* shows that i get LTE but then it drops to UTMS on voice and HSPA on data when i get a call and after it drops, any new call isn't being received and the phone doesn't go to LTE without resetting the radio signal
I also checked on another identical phone and it's the same only that one goes back to LTE after the call..
I've tried to switch the preferred network types but it either didn't help or it didn't work.
Wifi works fine and so does BT, data works fine sometimes and sometimes it doesn't, voice just doesn't work almost at all.
I'm still on Oxygen v9 and so are the other phone which work.
Any other ideas to try apart from reinstalling\updating?
