Does anybody know if the Nokia Qi Charger DT-601 for Lumia 920 works with N4? - Nexus 4 Accessories

Does anybody know if the Nokia Qi Charger DT-601 for Lumia 920 works with the Nexus 4?
I read something, that cheaper Qi chargers have no trickle charging, which is quite essential if you dont want to kill the battery.

Nokia chargers aren't really cheap but Qi is Qi so it should work

No, it doesn't really work. Positioning the phone is very difficult since there isn't a magnetic locator in the base. My N4 kept slipping off. Was a total cluster. I sold it and got the official charger and haven't looked back.

Anyone having trouble wireless charging on N4?
when I place my N4 on lumia 920 Qi Wireless charging Plate or Maxwell Qi Wireless plate, it will displaying charging then not charging.
I thought I can use any Qi Wireless charger to charge my N4 but doesnt seem so on my case.
Any Suggestion?
No problem on my lg charger. Check to see if NFC is on, on your phone.

People have reported this as well with the lumia wireless charger..

Also keep in mind once the battery reaches 100%, the pad will stop charging until the phone reaches a certain point. Where the LG and I think the Engergizer/Maxell ones re-start charging when phone reaches 95%.
Also with the Lumia charger, there have been reports that this pad needs a power cycle then it will work. Meaning it's like putting a pencil in an old school carburetor to get it to start. I personally have the LG and Energizer pads and both work.

I have both the LG charger and the Lumia charger. The LG one works perfectly, but the Lumia one just charges on and off repeatedly. No matter the position, I couldn't get the Lumia charger to work with the N4.

not even going to go there. i guess if you need something in a pinch...
the lumia charger runs at like 300ma or maybe its 500. but i think its 300. plain and simple... that is not enough. the people that have zero issues are running qi chargers at 1000ma.

good to know about Qi charging

I e-mailed WPC and asked what Qi charger to use. I got this good answer
The current version of the Nexus 4 can be charged wirelessly with all Qi chargers, except the Nokia DT-900. We expect that this problem will be fixed soon. In the mean time we advise to use a different Qi charger. For example the ZENS charger:
http://www.amazon.de/Zens-ZESC01B-0...=sr_1_1?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1355703562&sr=1-1
Or Qi chargers made by LG and Energizer.
Thank you.

Good
LG WCP-700
And the Energizer single and dual pads -Similar to the Maxell pad.
Also using a Maxell Air Voltage, great quality, charges fast too!
Re: [REF] Known Good Qi Chargers
The energizer single position inductive pad works great for me.

I had the ZENS charger and it was quiet good.
Just the noise/brumming was very annoying next to me on the table...so I sent it back :/

Second that, it does work but slower than using the original N4 cable/charger.
We should have a third category of "neutral" for chargers like this - not exactly a waste of money, but not the best use of it.

[Q] Touchstone vs Touchpad vs Qi Style Charging (Not working)

I have 2 Touchpads, and 2 Touchstone Touch Pad Chargers
I also have a Pre Touchstone (Like the hockey puck style)
I put a pre touch charger on my Galaxy S3's backplate.
This: http://www.fasttech.com/products/1154/10001946/1149700
S3 + Pre Touchstone = Charging
S3 + Touchpad Touchstone = Nothing happens on either one. (Even by moving all around)
What am I doing wrong?

That site says the backplate is a Qi backplate. The TouchStone isnt a Qi charger. And it wouldnt work with the Touchpad's charger. I've never seen that before. Hopefully you didnt get scammed.
EDIT: After reading more, the site says that it is made for it and not Qi compatible.
"This wireless charger is not Qi-compatible:
The included back plate is custom designed to work with the Galaxy S3 on the Palm Touchstone charger.
It is compatible with Palm chargers (included) and is not compatible with Qi chargers."
I dont really know anything about that product. Sorry. Maybe they sent you a Qi backplate by mistake.

No the touchstones are original factory.
The backplate uses the touchstone standard (and it works on the touchstone)
What doesnt work is the touchpad touchstone. at all.

Oh. So the Pre Touchstone works. I missed that part. The Touchpad touchstone wont work. I believe the charging connection in that Touchstone is on the very bottom lip. Not the back that stands the Tablet up. So to charge on that, the connection on your phone would have to be on the sides of your device.
Hey
I'm a little confused, but recently got a Touchstone for my touchpad,
Was wondering if there was a way to get my Galaxy Note 2 charged by it ?
If I understood it right from this topic, no hope ?
Thanks
Hi Guys,
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but just wondering... does the Palm Pre Touchstone (hockey puc style/shape) work with the HP Touchpads...? Or is it different technology??
My HP Touchpad is dead, and I dont want to buy the official Touchstone if its not gonna make a blind bit of difference, where as the Palm Pre (puc style) is like half the price...
I wasn't even aware the Touchpads were wireless charging capable...?? What type of technology is the Touchpad wireless charger?? I have a wireless charging pad from another phone here, and wondered if that would work?? I will look out the model of my wireless charger later to see if its compatible....

Cheers, Lister
If you want to wireless charge the TouchPad, you need the official wireless charger. It works well. It's the only reason I still use the touchpad... no idea why other companies don't make something just like it.
Hwy guys i have a touchpad lying around and there seems to be no chargers or touchstone available in my country to buy,i was wondering if there's an altenative for the touchstone ? will 3rd party wireless chargers work ?

There is no alternative for the Touchstone, just the barrel charger. Get one rated for at least 2.1 amps. .

Ignore it. I've been charging my Touchpads with generic chargers for years. Just make sure it is output rated for 2 amps (2000 ma) or greater @ 5 volts

What amp charger does the Note 4 have?

Is it 2a?
I pre-ordered it and wish to have backup wall/car chargers ready to go for next week.
Tnx
It's a 2A Quickcharge 1.0 unit. Quickcharge boosts the voltage (to ~9v from 5v) when the phone is less than 50%, so you can't get just ANY 2 amp charger and expect it to work as quickly.
If you care (or are willing to wait) Quickcharge 2.0 wall plugs should ship in ~2 months. That boosts the input to 15 volts (IIRC) and will supposedly charge from 0% to 100% in about 45 minutes.
yeah I guess I can wait. I can always keep an old 1a plug by the bed for long overnight charges.
Does samsung sell oem chargers at release date?
9V 1.67A and 5V 2A is what it says on the charger
9V 1.67A is the rapid charging part
it's a dual voltage charger. 5v @ 2.0A and 9v @ 1.67A
For some unknown reason, I have a 2.1 amp car charger and cheap 1 amp ac charger. My HTC One M7 charge slow but the Note 4 charge much faster using the same charging device. I dont know what it is, but I like it!
So the charger on Samsung's website is not the same one that came with the Note 4?

Not sure it has anything to do with the Fast Charging hardware. The Fast Charging works with the provided charger, which is a dual voltage one. I used my iPhone's/iPad's car charger with my Note 4 and didn't notice a speed-up in charging time.
On a tangential note: I can't find anyone who sells the Note's fast charger separately yet and I needed another one for use with the Note 4 at the office. So I used the Asus charger that came with my original 3G Nexus 7 (which remains forgotten on a shelf). It works pretty well. I noticed that the Asus charger charged all my handsets (HTC One M8, Nexus 5, Z2, Oppo Find 7) pretty reliably -- the M8 and Nexus 5 seemed to charge faster compared with their stock chargers.
Anyone who's held the Asus charger knows it's a little bit bulkier and a few ounces weightier than the usual chargers that come with smartphones these days so there may be a hardware component to it. Whatever it is, it's probably the best standalone charger I've had the cables connect via a USB port so you can use it with your iPhone too.
If you can find at a garage sale or some random tech shop, you should pick one up. Works great with everything.
