[Completed] My phone choose to stuck in safe mode! Help! - XDA Assist

Today my asus padfone 2 [rooted] choose to fail on me for the first time.
I am able to go page that choose 'recovery mode' however all the volume button can't work.
I also can't go into the fastboot I'm not sure why... the only place I'm able to access is 'SafeMode' However it's almost useless because the settings & launcher keep crashing which make me unable to go anywhere.
What can I do? My USB Debugging Mode is not activated how can I activate it when the safe mode keep crashing?
When I'm in safe mode I can access the internal storage of the phone though...

You can try to do Factory Reset if possible in the safe mode. Also try Quick Boot app since you are rooted. It will let you reboot to Recovery or Bootloader.

Everything keep crashing in the Safe Mode, it's 'Launcher has stopped' keep popping up non-stop, I try go into the settings same thing... I don't think I can access into the play store as the launcher keep crashing which make me can't do anything.

I don't think ADB will work without USB Debugging. But you can Try. Is there a way for you to wipe Dalvik & Cache ?
Please elaborate on the Volume buttons. Is there a hardware issue ?

[Q] Dead Lenovo A1000L

I have a dead lenovo IdeaTab. It powers up and will hang at the Lenovo screen. The only way out of this is to use the reset button. I have tried to do a wipe/factory reset with no luck. When I tell it to reset to factory default, it hangs up with the android picture on the screen just stays there. Again with the reset button and it freezes on bootup at Lenovo screen.
I can hook it to my computer as a USB drive but is sees nothing. I am at a loss.
Any ideas how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated.
PS I cannot even get to the settings menu to switch to dev mode ... I have Win XP as my operating system so if you give instructions to fix this thing keep that in mind.

Yes It hangs after recovery as well. Data wipe completes then I reboot ... goes straight back to Lenovo screen and stays there.
Up volume + power is recovery mode
Down Volume + power is test mode.
Wifi fails... everything else seems to test good.

Have you tried connecting the pc while in Recovery mode?
If you have go to Device Manager on your pc and look if it sees the device. If it does it will probarly see it as "unknown device"
If it sees it as Unkown Device,
Look for the Lenovo drivers for your phone. Install them.
Reconnect your device while in recovery. This time your tab should be recognised.
If it has install ADB. I recommend this: Minimal ADB&Fastboot
Launch this and type ADB devices. If it recognises your device. Well thats great. If not and your pc has recognised it. Then try messing in recovery. I had this same problem once with a old tablet which was from polaroid and didnt/barely gave any drivers at all.

Ok I have found the device and can read from it with ADB.exe I have downloaded source code in rar file and can extract. There is one primary file called Kernel with multiple files under that. How do I transfer that to the tablet or is there another method through ADB to restore to factory default.
Thanks so much for the help.

Not so fast
If you flash only the kernel you shall achieve nothing.(at least not in this case because you have another problem)
But before I continue. How did this happen?
And are you maybe using a costum or the standard recovery?

As it was described to me by my daughter ... A new game was downloaded and while playing that game or another game, it froze and would only reboot to the Lenovo screen and never get any further.
I have the download from lenovo. Apparently it is the full package but I am not sure exactly what to do with it.

[Q] Nexus 5 crashed and wont boot

Hello,
My Nexus 5 is locked, stock 4.4.4 and I never attempted to root or anything.
I ended a call and it got stuck, so I hard turned it off by holding the power button. Since that it wont boot, no matter what I do.
It doesn't respond to holding just the power button, and I managed a couple of times to get into fastboot, but whatever option I chose there it just turned back off. Now I can't get it into fastboot. When it was in fastboot, it was recognized as "Android", and now isn't recognized at all (because it's turned off). It also doesn't respond to charging.
I am desperate, please help me!
Thanks.

Is it charged?
Just plug in the charger for sometime and try to turn it on..
If above fails, you need to get into fastboot and first take backup of your sdcard using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51694433
If there is no important data on your sdcard, get into stock recovery and factory reset your device from there.
If you can't get into fastboot mode and nothing is accessible, contact Google if you purchased your device from play store or else LG!

The device is charged, it was 90% when it happened. I can't backup it because it isn't recognized as adb device in the cmd.
I managed to get to the fastboot menu again, but if I choose the recovery mode option it just turns off. Is there another way to force reset it to factory settings?

Are the drivers properly installed on your PC?
Had you enabled USB Debugging? (If you remember then good)
If your device is not recognized, then you can't troubleshoot it. If it's recognized, then you can either use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
Or get into recovery any how and factory reset.
Just plug in your charger and try again
If above fails, you need to connect Google and RMA your device.

Phone Crashed in Ultra Power Saving Mode - Now Won't Boot

Hi,
I have a Stock SM-G920F which as per the title was in Ultra Power Mode. I came back to the device and found it virtually unresponsive so pressed the power button which offered allowed me to reboot, which I did.
It then got stuck for ages on the "Starting Apps" screen - so I pressed Power and Vol Down to reboot the device - since then it will just stick on the animated samsung screen indefinitely.
I can get into both recovery and download mode. I've tried wiping cache and also tried flashing the same Stock Firmware via ODIN but to no avail.
Of possible interest, I've tried to get it to boot into bootloader but it doesn't seem to do anything - however I have noted from the forums that this may be typical.
Smart Switch never seems to properly see my device, should it do this at the Samsung Screen, Download Mode or Stock Recovery?
Ive tried doing an "Emergency Initialisation" from Smart Switch but that gives a message of something like not available.
I want to avoid doing a hard reset / wipe at this point if at all possible - even if its just to get in once to back things up / mount and dump off via USB etc. before then wiping and trying to see if any of what I dumped off can be salvaged.
If anyone has any ideas that may help - please let me know
Thanks
Would you have enabled usb debugging mode on your phone? If so you can easily pull your data on your phone. If not flashing stock rom via odin should bring it back to life. The only data you will lose is contacts, messages and any app data. Photos and any other data should be fine. Paste the result of your odin try here....
I think I do have usb debugging on I think. How can I pull the data / mount the device? Is it from download mode, recovery or the Samsung boot screen?
I did flash the latest btu via Odin. It reported it worked ok but it still just hangs at the Samsung screen. I've tried leaving 20mins or so. That's long enough right?
Thanks
ok update.
it did get into android for a bit. it was ultra power mode though.
The settings menu was very limited so all i could do was lug it into my surface and pull off every visible file. i managed to get into ADB however it wouldn't let me do a backup. I was able to run off a bug report and a few odd commands however I wasnt sure what I could do whilst i was in ultra power saving mode.
just in case i can get back into ADB at somepoint -
are there any commands to get me out of ultra mode?
are there any commands to pull up a full settings menu rather than the really limited one of like 5 things?
can i backup anything else in the states i can get to - call log, contacts sms?
ta all

Can you boot into Safe Mode ? : http://gadgetguideonline.com/galaxy...uides/how-to-use-samsung-galaxy-s6-safe-mode/
Turn off phone
HOLD Vol down and Power
Release Power at Samsung boot logo, keep Vol down pressed until the phone is completely booted
And turn off power saving mode ? : http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s5/493028-why-won-t-ultra-saving-mode-turn-off.html
Thanks Merken_
I was able to boot into safe mode. However from there, I could only disable safe mode, which forced a reboot that never worked.
Otherwise the settings are still just as limited and there is no launcher or anything.

Is there any way to enter download mode without buttons or a rooted phone?

Hello, everybody. I have a Samsung Tab 10 1 which does not function properly with the volume lowering button (it is always pressed at hardware level) and it ALWAYS enters the safe mode.
Since the hardware level button fix is very expensive here in my country, it occurred to me to root to the tablet and disable by modifying the system files the volume button. This would never activate the safe mode and control the volume through any application.
The point is that I can't access the download mode, as the volume down button is continuously pressed, the tablet is reset by entering the download mode. So I was wondering if there is any way to access the download mode WITHOUT THE BUTTONS.
Please REMEMBER that my tablet is NOT ROOTEED.
Thank you very much for reading, if there is any other solution to my main problem, I appreciate you sharing it.

enable developer options then go to developer options and enable advanced restart, this will give you the option to reboot into the download mode automatically
Doesn't appear ADVANCE RESTART

Need help with my Google FRP locked [non-rooted] LGL455DL

I made the mistake of Factory Resetting my phone after a few failed attempts at remembering the Pattern to unlock the phone, in doing so I ended up being stuck in the set-up process because I forgot the Google account I was logged into on it before the Factory Reset, had been an account I just quickly made on the spot months ago just to set up an app on it. I'm posting here for help with this since I'm on day 4 of trying to find a way to bypass this and my head is ready to explode. I feel like someone with a fresh mind would be able to point me in the right direction.
If anyone can let me know if I'm doing something wrong or missing some steps that will help me try any one of these, or honestly any advice at all... I'd very much appreciate it and it'd help relieve a huge chunk of this ridiculous headache this has all been.
Thanks in advance!
What I've tried thus far --
- I know for most ways around this, USB debugging needs to be enabled. But since I cannot get past the initial set-up process, I can't access the settings to enable it.
- I also know that for a lot of Android devices USB debugging is enabled by default in Recovery Mode but everywhere I've searched for the hardware combination to boot into Recovery/Download mode, all say the same thing:
Turn phone off > Power up with Vol. Down + Power button until 'Download Mode' is displayed (for boot into Download mode, while holding Vol. Down + Power button plug OTG cable into device)
- My problem with this is that on my device, Vol. Down + Power button, restarts the phone. So instead of 'Download Mode', I'm just restarting the phone over and over again. I was able to get my phone to boot into was Safe mode using the Power button + Side button.
- I've also tried getting around this through a series of steps which involved the 'TalkBack' accessibility feature, but when I try toggling to enable it I just get a message saying "Complete setup first to continue"
From there --
I started looking up Stock ROMs that I'd be able to just flash the firmware. But for the life of me, I cannot seem to find anything for this device. And this is where I'm pretty much at now.
To remove FRP lock you boot into phone's Recovery mode and apply
1. Wipe data
2. Factory Reset
Every Android device gets shipped by default with Android Recovery.

I can't get my device to boot into Recovery mode. Everywhere I look up, it tells me to Power off device, then Press Vol. Down + Power key until the menu appears. But on my device, all that combination does is force the phone to restart.
