[Bug Report] Hebrew subtitles displays punctuation marks in the wrong direction - MX Player

Hello,
Hebrew subtitles displays punctuation marks in the wrong direction, sometimes breaking the sentence structure. This is probably caused since Hebrew is RTL (right-to-left) language.
Pictures and .srt file can be found on this the bug report from the old forum:
https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mx-videoplayer/zrv4wIA0tE0/nyaIqoDyyt0J
The answer I got back then was:
This is an issue of Android text drawing system.

So please note that XBMC for Android displays Hebrew subtitles properly. Perhaps you can take a look at how it's done on XBMC, and fix it also for MX player.
I realy like MX better than any other player, and I wish that this problem will be fixed soon.
Thank you very much in advance!

Hi ajeet,
thanks for the effort, i noticed some bugs on my htc desire (oxygen rom , android 2.3 )
it skipped the first 30 seconds of my video
audio/video wasnt in sync (maybe cause of the skip? )
subs didnt show up
some infos about the video:
video: MPEG4 (H264) 712x480 29,97 fps
audio: AAC 48000Hz stereo
Subtitle: Advanced SubStation Alpha
//edit:
forgot to extract the mplayer subtitle folder ><
subs are working now, even though the progress bar makes it impossible to read them ^^
best regards
Kemo
Great job, I tried an MKV BDRip with MPEG-4 video and AC3 audio. Works flawlessly on my [email protected]
However, in the subtitle there are "á é í ó ő ú ű" letters and instead of these, there are some weird symbols shown. I tried this with SRT and SSA subs saved as UTF-8, but no luck.
Atm, this looks promising, so keep it up.
+1
Edit: please, for heaven's sake, avoid RapidShare. But if you like RS, then use multiupload. Thanks
Option key will hide the statusbar/seekbar
i try avc + aac mp4 (640*360 + 44Khz/128kb) on my milestone eclair
it too slow so not sync and i try the stop the play it crashed
Nice work. I only have flvs on my phone right now, but they play very well. quite responsive too.
Could the controls hide on screen tap as well as menu button?
Also, how mplayer is this? I realize that the frontend is going to be original work, but wonder how much porting you had to do for the player itself.

You can use option key to hide menu(s) . I have used sdl ported by Pelya(commander genius) for audio output and written video driver for android from scratch.

So due to some bug neon acceleration is not working with this version. I will fix that then you can watch h264 w/o any issue.
screen shots would be cool and if you can get some of the gpu/cpu accelerations combos working on higher end devices like Hummingbird and Powervr.
Very nice it works even on the archos tablet and without any stutering or delays. Keep up the good work.
This is the first non stock media player that works good for general use.
Sent from my A101IT
great player, best i've found on the market yet.
It's perfect for my Legend ! the best player for the video quality.
And subtitles work fine. The only "problem" is that I always have the interface at the top and bottom of the video. So, I can't read subtitles.
I tried to open settings but it does't exist.
Great job anyway
The best working video player on my X10. Just one problem I am from Slovenia, any chance for Slovenian, Croatian,,,,letters support.
Thanks
OK, I have tested streaming from an URL (Mpeg-TS-stream - dreambox)
1) on my HTC HD2 running HD Desire: works although there are some delay/lag. Also problems with syncronization of video/audio
2) on my Samsung i5800: I get pictures and then it pauses for 2-3 seconds and I get new frames and then it stops again and so on. Audio works without breaking. Perhaps its processor is not fast enough to handle a stream with a ratio of 1:1?
3) the preferences button seems disabled.
I look forward to next releases.

can somebody tell me what does it mean to stream a url? help
Streaming from an URL means playing (therefore sending) a file (be it video, music...) over the net on a remote device.
(Trying to keep the definition simple).

Works great on evo
Sent from my EVO using XDA App
Installed on my Dell Streak. It works for playing AVI. I'll try with other file types and report back.
same problem.

[Bug Report] Bug with m3u8 streaming after 1.7.31

Hello , I have an app which uses MX Player to play different kind of streams. After an update some streams don't work anymore . For example : http://1015.cdn.aplay.ro/liveorigin01.aplay.ro/zu_4sbEp/400.m3u8 works perfectly in version 1.7.31 , and never loads in version 1.7.34 . Sorry if I posted in the wrong place, I am not sure where to post. Thank you!
Like it said in the thread instructions, post all bug reports in their own new thread. I've moved your post for you.
So, this seems to be an issue with m3u8 playlists linking to .ts. Does the problem also occur if you have playlists with other types of streams?

There are some server side restrictions. It doesn't allow all IP ranges & reverts with forbidden message.
Regarding your issue,
It looks like UA string is causing issues
Goto Settings | General
Add "MXPlayer/1.7.34" (without quotes) in Http user agent
Now check again.
I have tested myself with working ip...? ?
Already informed to developer & hopefully will be fixed on the next version.

[Q][android tv] mx player can't find subtitles

Hi there
I installed mx player on my android tv box (freebox mini 4k) and when I watch video I click on search online subtitles, entering movie title and it shows nothing...
I configured languages preferences in the app settings (french + english).
Am I missing something ?
I am watching movies from macbook using plex media server if it's helpfull...
Thx by advance
opensubtitles.org protocol looks like being changed or broken somehow.
We will contact opensubtitles.org.
I warned you about it in a previous contributions, and no one answered. I hope you manage to fix it soon. This feature I often used.
thx for the reply so I understand it's about the opensubtitles api
I do not think there is a problem in Opensubtitles.org api, because other applications have already corrected the loading of the title. I got the MX Player buy and support the developer, but 4 months on the application did not reach anyone. 10 days no response to gmail or here on the forum. Hmm .- (

The developer is busy with the major upgrade 1.8.
It's almost in final stages. He may start the beta testing anytime soon.
Be patient.

Thank you for the answer. I will look forward to a new version comes out, perhaps as soon as possible, because I drive searching for subtitles of your application often used. Among other supports as the only search from opensubtitles.org Regardless of the name of the video, which seek out other applications by inserting video, but when I have a video that is: 448548sdssda45545sada5sd45.mp4 so I do not find in others. That was not the case.
Anyway, if it is possible to add the possibility of a larger set subtitle line and also searching always have the latest version according to the searched word. I should be if I was looking for: The Simpsons S27 E02 showed it to me always locate the latest headlines.
ps: please do not have the possibility to make action on the MX PLAYER and data necessary to apk for $ 1? You would have bought your application more people. Thanks for your time and service.

Do you get any messages?
Can you specify what you are searching for..?
I regularly get the message "error occurred during communicating with opensubtitles.org. please try again later" but the main issue is for 3 days now when it dose work and get subtitles it get a long list of subtitles that has no relation to the search text.
infect I believe the returned subtitle list is the same regardless of what the search text I enter is.
lets say for example I enter "haven s02e03" in the search for subtitles I get the same long list of irrelevant subtitles.
the online subtitle is unusable now at all.

It might be temporary issue on opensubtitles.org side. It's working on my device as of now.

Can't download subtitles with Xiaomi Mi Box

Hi,
I'm using MX Player with my Xiaomi Mi Box and I'm having some trouble with downloading subtitles.
While the video is playing, I go to "Online subtitles" and press on search. Then I mark the "Enter your search text" checkbox and there I can't open the keyboard in order to modify the search line, sometimes I need to modify it in order to get the right results.
No matter what I do, the keyboard won't open. I can't modify the search line. This issue makes this download subtitles feature for the Xiaomi Mi Box users kind of useless.
Is it possible to fix the issue?
Thanks a lot ?

[BUG]MX Player TV app does not consider language preferences

NOTE: Reposting as independent bug report so that 1. I can track and mxplayer team can acknowledge it 2. saw after posting that direct post on feature request/bug list thread is not allowed thus creating this independent bug report post.
Using MX Player TV app on my android tv box. Version 1.3.1(latest). There is a bug(was same in 1.3.0 also) that prevents language preferences to take effect. For e.g If I select Hindi, English, Gujarati in my language preference then yet, I do not see Gujarati Web Series, Movies, TV Shows etc which we can see on mxplayer.in website or on android mobile app. The Language preferences seem to take no effect on MX Player TV app. I also tried Hindi, English, Bengali/Tamil etc and same effect. I tried only selecting Bengali(expecting to see only Bengali TV Shows, Movies etc ofc) but it shows Hindi, Tamil(which I did not even select), Pakistani, Turkish Series etc. Can you please fix this bug so that Language Preferences are respected even on "MX Player TV" app just like it does on regular website/mobile app?
