[Q] Moto G update 4.4.3 problem WiFi - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good day dear users, first of all sorry for the bad English, I'm Venezuelan translating with Google translator.
My problem is that my Moto actualize G 16GB GSM Global purchased on Amazon and sent to Venezuela. Before the 4.4.2 upgrade the WiFi worked perfectly fine, but with this update 4.4.3 WiFi constantly drops every 5 seconds so I this next to the router, and routers and tested two different brands and the problem continues, I a hard reset and the problem continues, are able to stabilize a bit after about 5 times placed in airplane mode, it bothers me a bit since this problem and wanted to know if anyone happens if you open a solution that does not go back to 4.4.2 since the performance of the battery if this better in 4.4.3.
Also I know about 10 other users in Venezuela Moto G happens the same problem after upgrading.
Greetings and thanks, it's my first post in this great forum so sorry if I have any errors in the post or is not the correct area.

Go to adv wireless config and untick avoid bad connection, i was having the same problem with WiFi, after that no WiFi drops for me

Hey man. Well if that problem happens to us in Venezuela with Moto G of North American is the one I have and yet still can not find solution, and it really is quite annoying to have to return to the previous ROM, I'm in search of some solution but nothing that I find .

Well im from Venezuela too, bought my phone on Amazon and is working fine with 4.4.3, also is unlocked, rooted and with custom recovery, one thing i did was flash the 4.4.2 firmware first (had installed faux kernel and philz recovery) then update to 4.4.3, had the WiFi drop problem 2 times, after disabling the avoid bad connection thing, no more problem and my Phone is working fine with wifi

Well then, I got to go back to 4.4.2 and all problems are resolved, a shame really, I hope this motorola resolved soon.

May provide some clarity!

Someone have made a wipe dalvik?
Flash any WiFi modules?

Happening to me aswell but can't say if it is due to different region/modules or due to the 4.4.3 update. I flashed GPE on my brazilian firmware and stayed on it for like 40 minutes, everything was fine. Wifi started dropping after I went to PA 4.4 RC1 and can't manage to reconnect without going on the modem and restart it from there, a reboot on the phone doesn't help.
Any ideas?

Hi,im also using at&t atrix2 and i live in indonesia.
I was experience the same as you do,but now it's better.
Try sc v5.2 rom and then tweak the build.prop as i did.
Hope it works for you.
Last chance maybe you can try fxz to restore to 2.3.5.
In my opinion 2.3.5 has better signal, but i got sd card issue.

Atrix 2 signal
Hi there,
I had the same problem with my Atrix 2 when i updated to 2.3.6 OTA.
I downgraded to stock rom and everything works fine.
I tried a second OTA 2.3.6 update and signal dies several times a day.
I suggest using stock 2.3.5 rom to test the phone.
I don't know if there is actually a fix for this.

[Q] Moto G (XT1031) Boost Mobile [HELP]

I recently reverted my Moto G back to stock firmware since none of the available ROMs were any good in my opinion. However, now that I've finally settled into my stock firmware and have decided to let Motorola be my update provider rather than spend all day trying out new ROMs, I have run into a little problem...
As of right now I am running a Moto G XT1031 on the Boost Mobile network with the following specs:
HW Version: P3C
Android Version: 4.3
Baseband Version: MSM8626BP_1032.3102.56.00R
Kernal Version: 3.4.0-g741c020-00001-gaf940d1
System Version: 14.14.9.falcon_cdma.Boost.en.US
Build Number: 14.10.0Q3.X-84-9
Well the issue now is that I have received an update on my phone from Motorola labeled as version: 173.44.18.en.US or in other words KitKat. I'd really like to update to this, but each time I click download now, it goes ahead and downloads the ~189.0MB file, and then asks me if I would like to install now, obviously yes, and powers off, goes into recovery and starts installing the update. BUT IT ALWAYS STOPS HALF WAY AND DISPLAYS ERROR AND THEN REBOOTS THE SYSTEM BACK TO NORMAL.
What could be the problem? My phone is currently rooted and has its bootloader unlocked. Do I need to be unrooted for the update to take place successfully?
Also, I was running TWRP 2.6.3.1, then CWM 6.0.4.6, and currently stock recovery but neither one gives me any better result.
Any help in greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
David B.

yep, you can't be rooted...bootloader unlock is ok. It sees a file is not correct and it will error out during update.
Cheers.

Great! Thanks for the info.
I can always root it again afterwards, right?
Actually the update still won't take place. I just noticed, using CWM, that the error is being caused because "the update is for cdma" models only and my phone is "xt1031" I have a feeling that this might just be an issue with boost mobile having a crappy network, and this is just a mistake.
I thought it was too good to be true that Boost Mobile had released a KitKat version for the Moto G so fast

they did roll it out fast...
go back to non-rooted stock and then apply update.
(that's what I did and it worked.
btw, I activated the phone w/ Ring+ and still had the update pushed!)
But wait ! I have a boost Mobile version and I can find a way to root. Any help?

Wait, You have a CDMA model..how did you gain root? I thought only the GSM variants were able to have their bootloaders unlock officially and haven't seen anyone take a crack at the CDMA versions.
Verizon is not allowing unlocks. Boost is.

How did u do it. It will be helpful for many, please explain
Thanks
Yes please explain. I have the XT1031(Boost Moto G) and when I go to the unlock page it still tells me my device isn't eligible for unlock.
I have the boost Moto G, and simply following the instructions for all the other Moto G's gave me an unlock, the moto site didn't complain in the least

Need help
I'm stuck and don't know what else to do. Is my phone paper weight now? It also won't charge/keep charge. Both my fiancé and I tried looking everywhere to fix it but it won't work. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it... I miss my phone, had to get a crappy cheap phone.

What problems are you having with unlocking your device?
I've unlocked 3 Boost Moto G's - so I know it's possible. Check this out > https://forums.motorola.com/posts/35e4d3be5c
As far as Mobile Hotspot, yes, it's possible with a few edits.

Made account just to bump this question... have been searching the web for weeks now. From xda to the chinese version of the one plus site to looking through the reppository myself. No answer, not one.
Same here. I even tried flashing the earliest version of android (CM11) I could find because I remembered reading it was not compatible with later versions of android. I think it's compatible up to jellybean and the N5 was released with KitKat
Did fqrouter2 ever work on Nexus 5, even older versions of Android?
Bump
Bump! Have the same problem.

A little advise please

Hi
My daughter has a 1st gen Moto G [XT1032] which is about 5 months old.
About a month ago the stock rom (Tesco uk) wouldn't boot and has she had cracked the screen it wasn't covered under the warranty.
So I rooted it and put on a stock Eu rom 4.4.4 and that seemed ok for about 2 weeks and then similar issues with booting.
So then I wiped everything and put on Cyanogenmod on 5.1.1 I think it was but that only lasted about 3 days before not booting,
I then tried a fresh copy of that again but last night she came to me with it and it was so buggy and jumpy and the home screen wouldn't load and it was massively overheating.
So I searched again for another stock rom of 4.4.4 and I put that on last night.
Do you think it could be a hardware problem that's causing it or am I just choosing unstable roms?
If so can anyone recommend a stable rom as there are so many to choose from.
Thanks for any advise
Sounds like hardware.
Mine was a Tesco phone on 4.4.4 now running optimized stock .br 5.0.2 from the development section and it's never ran better!

Thanks I was thinking that because she dropped it and cracked the screen it's had a knock on effect... Not sure what hardware fault could cause it though

4G band not Working after rom change

Hi all, I installed the nexus experience in my moto maxx XT1225 BR but the 4G signal went dead, 3G and 2G is working perfect and also everything else.
I did a full backup (just in case from the 5.02p) before and the 4G is working fine if I go back but the battery drain is just epic, with the original rom it last 8 hours and with the nexus experience 1,5 day.
Is there any way to extract the radio from a TPRW backup? Because I tried all the radios listed in here but can't get to work the 4G on custom rom
Thank you in advance to all.
