Hi Guys,
Does anyone know the best way to remove the front screen protector from the M2?
I would have thought it would have been fairly simple but can't work it out.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Are you sure there is one? I know that the Z series does indeed have it slapped on the top, but I am not sure that the M2 has it. I tried looking closer on my M2 but can't see it.

If you mean the standard foil that comes with the phone out of the box (back and front) then it goes of very easy. Just gently pull it off. If you mean something else then leave it where it is.
Can you describe more specifics where is the problem with the screen protector? Bcoz i think it is very easy to remove..

Hi all
Amazon UK now have MediaDevil screen protectors for the XZ (front and back sold separately). Just fitted mine, much nicer than the ones that come in the box. Only been on for about 30 mins, but fingerprints actually seem to wipe off these ones! V happy.

did you mean fingerprints are still visible but can be easily wiped?
Yes. They're still there, but nowhere near as bad as with the original ones, and I can wipe them away on my jeans.

I'd just wish they came with oleophobic coating

They look nice but I'd prefer from the UK rather than imported from US.

I e-mailed mediadevil asking if they were planning on releasing one with oleophobic coating, got this response...
"I'm afraid we're unlikely to release an oleophobic version -- some brands do use this material, however it does not meet our standards for several reasons. First, this material often has a blue tinge, and we only sell protectors that are completely clear. Second, it is much more likely to experience the 'rainbow effect', and third, while it does show fewer fingerprint marks, it has also been our experience that the fingerprint marks that do appear are more difficult to clean.
If you have had a different experience with oleophobic screen protectors, we'd be very interested to hear about it, however at the moment we have yet to find a material that does not have these issues."

What is the general concensus on which protector has the best fit? I really don't like the spigen (too much gaps, and lazy cutouts)

I take it the Clarivues are front only. They sound good though from their website. But odd terminology talking about "1 set" but seem to mean "1"

Nope, im using it at the moment, its front and back (x2).. Great price, performs as it sshould sooooo no complaints so far
Ah awesome! They do look good. the front/rear lack of clarity on their wording was odd though. I even read their installation instructions for it and was only talking front.
Did you use that "masking tape" trick to install? Or just really good at putting them on? I'll be trying the masking tape way
Has anyone found any large sets of cheap front and back protectors on eBay?

Nope, just good ole:
1. Clean the screen off (Make sure no dust, lint, etc are on the screen)
2. Don it on the phone and use the cam cutouts as guide.
3. I did get dust and lint after installation, I used clear tape to take off the sp a lil and used another tape to get those lint/dust.
viola..
took about 5-10 mins for me to install perfectly.
Screen protector and water
Hi Guys,
I bought a Krusell Frostcover and had a front screen protector installed today. I don't remember its brand, the shop assistant threw its packaging out. I remember it was sort of blue, and it had a microfiber cloth included...
I never had a protector before and I'd like to know how it reacts to water. I'm not planning to go scuba diving with the phone, but since it's water resistant, it will probably get sometimes. May it affect the film? Loosen it? Or no problem, unless it gets underneath it somehow?
Thanks in advance!

Its fine with a sp, i wash my phone once a week.. And all is well
I've had my Z3 now for a couple weeks, came from a z2.
In my one year with the 2 I had no chips, obviously some scratches and scuffs but no chips.
My Z3 already has two chips on the top bezel one in the front and a smaller one in the back, is this a common issue?
I buy this phone because I hate cases so the dust/waterproofing is the big draw for me.
Sad to see these chips so soon..
Got the same issue here. Very bad though

Protective case is the way to go.
This may sound like comparing apple and oranges...
Imagine your car vs keys...nasty...or rubbing dust-sand on car...that is why people makes-uses protective cases...
Can u post some pictures? I intermittently use a case and sometimes not. I am leaning towards not putting a case on bcos a case seems hiding the beauty but this post bothered me. Do u own the black one?

Actually I think with a protector like that, dust still finds its way in and scratches the phone anyway.

I use a similar transparent case for mine but the feel in the hand with it bare is just awesome. I put it in the case when charging bec people/I might accidentaly kick the wire and send my Z3 flying. Lol

Dunno... My phones are always naked and I never have any issues. There are scratches and what not, but that's what makes it special.
I have foil on the back and not a single spot on the metal body...
I'll never put a case on the I s thing, never did with my z2 either.
tempered glass front and back and that's it.
I also make sure my phones always in a pocket by itself.. Wasn't asking for advice on cases simply asking if this problem is wide spread.
Seems odd these company's change materials from one flagship to the next when the previous one clearly had a more durable finish.

Sorry for off topic...
But nothing in the world happens by itself, if you scratch aluminum (not so scratchproof material) it will show marks. Never heard that on Z3 is used some kind of extra soft aluminum...to put it short...good luck...
I have a Xperia Z5 white with the official Sony SCR42 case in white as well and it seems the features are not working with it and am wondering if I'm doing anything wrong or if this is a known issue.
When I open the cover the screen turns on [Working]
When I close the cover the screen does not turn off and stays on [Broken]
When I turn on the phone with the cover closed there is no smart screen [Broken]
Is there something I need to do to configure and set this up or have turned on? I have the sony smart connect app installed, NFC and Bluetooth on.
Running Android 5.1.1
Build 32.0.A.5.12
Thanks for your help and any insights you can provide.
I'm an idiot please delete.
Need to tap the NFC on the back of the phone to the case to sync them together.
Just ordered one that's good to know

Flapping around yes. The magnet is very weak and close to the left bezel, not to the right.

Is it irritating? Or worth the money?
Sent from my sexy Z5
That's a well made case but what irritates me is the window, I have enough smudges on my phone screen, I don't want to wipe two sides of the window on top of that. And it's not that useful (I use a wrist watch for time)
I'm not using it anymore. And the green case color gets tiring
Sent from my E6653
Okay thanks for your opinion. I love the idea of having a flip case but they're always a damn hassle to use lol. And to be honest the window looks like a useless gimmick.

I love flip case too! Too bad that the official one has a window, previous models didn't have it.
Most 3rd party flip cases are a bit tacky too (reminds me these leather pouches people loved to hang on the side of the belt to carry their 3310)

Yeah I would easily pay 30-50€ for a quality case made from nice materials with great design. The problem is there's none lol
Using a cheap eBay cover on a stylish quality phone kinda ruins the experience for me.

Thanks man! But I'm looking for something bit more robust and shockproof.
So it perhaps should be not flip case. Something like this, I imagine:

Oh yeah that looks nice, but isn't that a rebranded love mei Case? I'm looking for something like those UAG cases, but haven't had any luck yet.
Edit: I flipped it in the thread title.
Anyone know if XZ case fits on the XZS? I'm guessing the camera size on the back is the only difference. I like the genuine Sony cases for the XZ, but no reference as to whether they would fit the XZS.
Has anyone tried?
From what I know most cases fit perfectly, except where XZs slight protruding camera becomes an issue. So if you're buying an XZ case, just observe the area around the camera lens and see if there's a little more space near the lens.
Thanks for the reply. It looks to be the case but wasn't sure. In any regard, I ended up getting the RhinoShield for now and I'm actually very pleased with it. I'd still like to get the Sony Touch Case but I'll see if anyone tries it out first.

I have a question on SCSF10 Case. Is closing and opening the case working with wake up and standby functionality?
And another question. Try somebody Sony Style Cover Touch SCTF10 on Xperia XZs? I really like this cover on my Xperia XZ, but someone stole my phone with it. I hope that intalling Style Cover app will help.
Just get tough armor case since the case is thick . You wouldnt have to worry about the protruding camera lens .
I was wondering if I should get one. Any recommendations?
