[Q] Restoring HTC One M8 - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Hi guys, I have been a long time apple user that recently switched to the M8. I have used weaksauce to do a temp root and it is now S-OFF with the Harman Kardon flashed on. I want to do a full restore of my phone like it was brand new, how can I do that? Also, will I lose S-OFF and ROOT?

After doing this, you'll still be rooted and s-off but other than that, you should be completely stock. Back to what you had when you bought the phone.

[Q] Question about s-off and revolutionary?

Hi All.
Quick question, I have rooted my sensation and s-off'ed, sweet.
Here is me question, what happens if our friends at HTC update the part that made the s-off possible? Will we get the updates or will only the users who did not tinker with the firmware get them?
Cheers folks.
HTC has stated that there new HTC-DEV site will be where you will be able to S-off your device, its not gonna come in an OTA push, IMO revolutionary has got us S-off, so who care what HTC has coming for S-off....its a little late, besides if you S-off with HTC they want to document who is S-offing their devices.......eff em and just enjoy your no strings attached S-off.
Number 1...It is never a good idea to take an OTA on your phone if you have it rooted.
Number 2...OTA's may contain patches to exploits that were used to obtain s-off.
Number 3...OTA's may or may not s-on your phone depending on how the devs obtained s-off in the first place.
Moral of the story is if you want to maintain root never OTA
i own a sensation device
if i use this revolutionary tool to s-off, recovery and root, is it possible to s-on later? (e.g. to give my phone to htc service to be in warranty)
If i just use the ruuxxxxxx.exe for my device to put the official rom , the phone will be s-on again? or is there any other way?
and wht about official OTA updates? how is going to be achieved?
There is a way to to gain s-on again but it's risky atm. Look for the guide in the stickies in the development forum.
You will not get an OTA on a rooted custom ROM.. end of story!!
So enjoy

Yes it is possible to make you device s-on again just be sure to follow everything to the letter and don't screw up. Also why would you want to. If anything permanently root it and stick with that.

Sorry it took so long you cannot update when rooted. Because of clockworkmod recovery. But just install a stock bases ROM the has the update like I did. hope this helps.

Where to find C Spire HTC One ruu files?

Hello. I have an HTC One from C Spire (Cellular South). The bootloader is unlocked and I am rooted with no custom ROM. I am using TWRP and SuperSU. I had to use the Sprint Version of TWRP and SuperSU in order to root. I have not had any issues but I am stuck on 4.2.2. I would like to get my phone back to stock so that I can update to 4.3.
After doing: fastboot getvar version-main
It returned: version-mian: 2.04.563.2
My boot menu says:
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBoot-1.54.0000
RADIO-1.00.20.0725
OS-2.04.563.2
I'm fairly new to rooting and I'm not sure how to undo this. I know with other carriers it is quite easy. That's not the case with CSpire. The only thing I can think of is to somehow get S-OFF, although I'd rather avoid doing so. I thought I needed to find the CSpire RUU files, but I do not think that is the case. Since I have not installed a Custom ROM can I just do an Android OTA?
Have you had any success as of yet finding the RUU for CSpire ? I too have an HTC One from CSpire. I have gotten as far as unlocking the phone but until I find the factory flash for our device I am afraid to root my phone... Please help me if you know where to find this... Thanks.....

No luck. I took my phone to CSpire since my SIM card was not working. They saw that it was rooted and wouldn't touch it. They wiped my phone and during the process wiped the OS. So the phone was then useless. The guy suggested that since I had purchased the warranty that I should just drop my phone in a pool so that they could replace it. So I did that. Now I have a brand new one. I wouldn't suggest rooting until someone releases the ruu files. :/
I also tried to use Cyanogen Mod for sprint devices but I could not get cellular data with it. So do not root if you ever plan on restoring.
Thanks

Thanks man I will not touch it past this point until more is released.. Shhhuuuuwwwaa !!!!
I just picked up an HTC One this afternoon. I was hoping there would be some development going on but like everyone else mentioned, I can't find any stock files for C Spire. I hope something will come out soon. When the HTC Hero was released, C Spire had all of the RUU files and updates on their website....
Stock Backup
Is it possible to switch to an alternate recovery such as TWRP or CWM without rooting first? If so, couldn't we just make a backup of a non-rooted stock rom and just revert back to that if there is a problem?
I have posted a non rooted backup of my htc one, we also have a working 4.4.2 rom made just for c spire if anyone wants to check it out. Voice, Data, sms, mms all work.

[Q] HTC EVO 3D GSM S-ON, Help

Need Help
I got this phone in September of 2011, and about three weeks later I rooted it with Revolutionary method, and it worked great. The problems started when I tried to unRoot my phone, and ended up bricking it. About six months after that I found a way using Linux to unBrick my phone. Great, except for Security went from S-OFF to S-ON, and I don't know how to fix that without trying to use a rooting program, which almost always seem to fail because it its already rooted, and unlocked.
Any help would be great,
Thanks

[Q] HTC one M8Sw still rooted after falshing stock ruu

Hi everyone!
After trying out a custom rom, I have decided to flash the stock RUU on my HTC one M8Sw (China Unicom).
So far there is no issue with that but somehow the HTC seems to still be rooted as it prompts for approval after launching any app's first time.
My phone is currently S-OFF with bootloader relocked.
My target is to return my handheld with stock RUU and without root access.
Did I miss something?
Thanks in advance for the help

How do you manage to s-off your E8?
I had exactly the same question in mind - did you use sunshine or any alternate method?
I have used Sunshine and paid $25

[Q] Revert back to 4.4.3

I would like to root my HTC One m8 that is now running 4.4.4. I know Sunshine will not work with 4.4.4 so is there a way to revert my htc one m8 back to 4.4.3?
Nope
Only way to revert back is to have S-OFF otherwise you're SOL.
Unfortunately unless you are s-off'd there's not much you can do without risking a brick.
