I'm not sure I understand. Are you trying to connect your phone to wifi while using your phone as a wifi hotspot at the same time?

I did the exact same thing. In retrospect, I can't believe I was retarded enough not to make a backup of the original file first.

Ad-hoc workaround needed
I have tried everything to get AD-HOC wifi on my phone.
wpa_supplicant 0.6xx / terminal commands / softwares like Connectify etc
Android apps are able to see the AP , but can't connect.
Eagerly waiting for Android to natively support AD-HOC connections , If there is any workaround , pls share it.

[Q] Wifi Direct Apps

Hello mates,
I just want to know which app would be the best for Wifi direct ?
If am not wrong, wifi direct is a concept where we can share the files from PC to phone or vice versa without a working internet connection.(Correct me if i am wrong)
So, which app would be the best to do this ?
I have a laptop and MMX a110.. I would enable my MMX a110 as wifi hotspot and turn on the wifi on my laptop..
Which app you people think is the best for this ?

I prefer you use ad hoc instead of some app. Since you got a Laptop, it would be easy.

FAQ's :
What is Fast Dormancy?
"Firstly a little explanation on what FD actually is.
When your phone is connected via data (not wifi) your phone needs to enter certain states in order to maintain this connection. If your Operator does not have FD support or you have it disabled, then basically your states are just connected or not connected. What this means is that every time your phone connects to data, it will have to go through all of its internal functions in order to achieve the connection and perform the data transfer. This is slow and obviously the more processing that is required, the more the hit on battery."

No sir, data dormancy will be turned off if we connected to WiFi network..so in 2G it will also active..
Then you can apply this way to solve your problem.

In some phones you can disable Fast Dormancy by dialing *#*#9900#*#* and select “Disable fast dormancy”.
I hope it helped.
