Can't install WhatsApp after downgrade - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I updated my tablet to the latest nightly (the one from 06/06), but I faced some issues about camera and decided to go back to 4.4.2 (05/06 nightly). But now, when I try to install WhatsApp, I just get an error. When I try to install it using Terminal command 'pm install /sdcard/WhatsApp.apk, I get "INSTALL_FAILED_UID_CHANGED". That's strange, since I did a clean flash (formatted system, data and cache). What should I do? I need WhatsApp :crying:

Look in your phone with a root file explorer and find the data folder associated with whatsapp and delete it.
That should fix it.

It should be in like /data/app-data/com.whatsapp or something.

There's the WhatsApp folder over there, but only backups inside.

Try this : I signed it using zipsigner

Seems like I solved the issue. Right after I finished setting my Google/CyanogenMod account and stuff, I immediately switched to ART. Now I did a complete reset and tried to install WhatsApp, this time being successful. Any idea about why ART blocks WApp?

7.5 gigs free, cannot install an apk due to no space?

So I am truly confused.
I am trying to install an apk that is 6mb and I keep getting an error that I have insufficient space.
Problem is, 14 regular market apps updated just fine.
And I've 7.5 gigs free space.
I've rebooted into cwm recover, and fixed permissions, cleared the cache, still no fix.
Any ideas?

Yes sir.
The only thing done was a root. Other than this I'm stock.
Meaning I am not running any custom rom.
I have installed Google now... But that's it. That's the only mod flashed and it's been there two days before this problem manifested.

Custom roms for Rogers customers

Any Canadians out there able to flash a custom ROM on your S4? I was able to put TWRP recovery on the phone, but haven't been able to have custom recovery boot up. Anyone else had any success? Am I missing something?

Wanna lite ROM for gt-19505. Works for 1337M using it for more than two weeks, very stable. Get that bloatware off that Rogers loves so much. Research it's all over the board.

Plug and play when you flash ROM don't wipe just flash over sick ROM will come with Adam kernel for battery savings. Gonna have to format your sd card to fat 32. Delete a few files use xplorer from play store to get rid of security message. You will get it after you flash.

I was messing around with some roms, make sure you don't flash anything that says LOKI'D
It will boot loop you.
As for TWRP, just use GooManager and open it, hit menu install open recovery script and hit yes a few times.
It'll install fine.
Thanks a lot everyone. Haven't formatted the disk yet and everything seems to be working fine. However, I'll give it a whirl anyways.

The other option I would recommend would be to root and flash a custom recovery, then flashing the dalvik cache. If that doesn't work then installing a custom ROM, but before that's an option I want to make sure we've used all other possible ways to fix it.

Hm, did you move any files to that nexus from a previous device that had Whatsapp installed? If so(or no, either way doesn't hurt to try), go into your internal storage and look for a folder named Android, then go into the folder Data. Look for the folder named com.whatsapp (or something similar) and delete the entire folder. Then try again.

There's lots of different ways people have solved this. May just have to dig through Google but here's one I found on xda
From the Home Screen, goto*Settings*>*AppsSwipe to view*ALL*and select*Google Play servicesSelect*Clear dataSelect*Force stopPower Down the deviceRemove battery (you can probably be fine with just a battery pull rather than power down & battery pull)Power up the deviceOnce phone has completely booted up verify if the issue is still present or not by going into*Google Now

The question marks aren't an issue. You should just be able to open hosts in a text viewer or editor.

Not sure if you can find this anywhere else but http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...lications-rely-not-supported-your-device.html
Check your date on the phone, otherwise there's something in this forum that links to a Google play services file but I didn't login to androidcentral.
