[Q] How much would you rate your xperia C out of 5? - Sony Xperia C

Hi guys, firth of all thanks for the wonderful community here. Helped me a lot of times with a lot of my phones.
Right now I'm thinking of buying a new phone and I like this very much. However, the dealer said that this phone is pretty old now and not worth the price it offers. So I would like to know the users opinion on this phone and if you have suggestions for a better phone by sony or any other brand (other than micromax) at a similar price bracket or lower, please do help me out.
Thanks a lot in advance

3.5

Already bought the phone and pretty happy with it. Thank you, this is solved now.

3.5 to 4 / 5

-1 for the built in storage
-0.5 for the front camera
So yeah, I'll also give it a 3.5 :good:

Chinaecarts

Hi there,
I'm considering buying this phone: chinaecarts com/samsung-galaxy-s3-12ghz-dual-core-48inch-mtk6577-android-40-16gb-phone-p-3095.html
However I've never bought from them before. So, has anyone else had any experience with them before? Are they safe to buy from?
Thanks in advance.

Ok, thank you very much!
This device rocks! I'm sure!
Anyway, did you pay the device with Moneygram or with Bank money transfer?
Please write more info, thanks!

Unfortunately I decided not to order, because I looked at other reviews and many other people said that they got scammed by Chinaecarts. Also many people have mentioned that they are unable to contact their customer support at all once they have purchased(/been scammed).
Moneygram specifically say on their website not to use it to pat for items, and that it could indicate a scam.
A real shame because Chinaecarts appear to be the only seller selling this phone. I may still buy a MTK6577 device (now I'm looking at the Haipai X710d) so long as it is the best I can get in my budget of £190.
tl;dr: I wouldn't recommend buying from them.
The general rule of internet is usually, if it's too good to be true, it is. I guess that even if they would send something (which I doubt) you'll get a "fake" replica or something like that. I'm glad you decided not to order there, since it would be sad if you'd lose your money.

Hey guys, this site and the users that are on it have brought me a long way in phone modding.
I would have had some expensive paper-weights if it weren't for you guys being so generous and unselfish.
I just wanna say you guys are awesome, and I took two hours going through the list of people who've helped me to click your thank you button, but you deserve much more
Thanks again,
Rodpgfx :victory:
I too would like to add my thanks to the XDA community! I am now free from the Matrix (the iPhone) and love my new found power!

Should i buy it to start developing for it?

Well i've been considering going back to developing for a few months, however a few things have been stopping me from doing this, but to keep it short: for now i'm going to do it as a hobby so i'm not planning on buying an expensive phone (as i don't own an android phone right now), my contract ends this week and i can get a new Moto G for around 72 euros which i consider is a great price. So here are my doubts:
Is the community good for this phone? I've wandered around its forum a few times and so far i have a good impression, but i'd really want to know the users opinions
Do you think it's worth it and i could take advantage of this phone? I personally think its a great phone for this as its pretty much stock and for what i've seen support is quite good, but i just want to make sure
Thanks a lot, and i know this questions might seem stupid but i'd really use some help

Yes, do it!
The community is big and nice, and the phone is very nice!
A big advantage is the nearly stock android.
Have a nice day!
The phone is in Germany always out of stock. I think many people bought this phone all over the world. So the forum will grow!
Do it! Please
The more developers the better
There are a lot of people with the moto g and if you can get it that cheap I really suggest you buying it.

Yes my friend! Do it!
Its a great phone with great support!
Yes please do! This phone is amazing for the money. It's a snappy beautiful device. More roms would be fantastic!
Should be arriving next week or so, i guess i'll give a try at making a rom after a few weeks, really looking forward to this =) Quite an amazing phonee for the price
Great to see another developer getting onboard.
Really looking forward for your contribution.
Good choice! The Moto G is a nice phone for a low price, and one of the reasons I bought it is to try to develop for it as well Compiling CM11 for it as we speak.

Hehe, don't expect too much from me though. I'm a software engineer, but this is my first time developing for Android. I wanted to look at the code because my Moto G suffers from the dreaded RAM bug, and I have an idea what the problem could be. Hopefully I can contribute to getting it fixed
It's a great device for the price and it would be nice to have more and more developers going for it!

I dont recall mentioning donations at all, and if you knew my previous work on the Galaxy S you'd know i started without even the option to donate which i added later on after a few users asked me to do it, wouldn't have put a donation button if it wasn't for that, i don't do this for donations. I do this as a hobby because i find it fun, and it's quite satisfactory reading nice comments on work you've done (not that i have done any for the moto G yet anyway). I find it more "hilarious" you're calling a thread hilarious for such reason, if i wanted donations don't you think i'd go for a high budget phone where you could expect greater donations? The only reason i did this and i chose such phone is because i think for such price, a great base (aosp) i can learn a lot.
Not that i care about your comment anyway as it's based on bs, and saying it's hilarious says a lot about your sense of humour which i'm sorry, but i don't share it
Just wanted to clarify a few things, to avoid confusions, and i'm sorry if i offended someone with the answer but i just answered the same way as the way in which the post i'm replying to was.
yes plz we need more dev

Again don't be mean I know it's a silly question!
Actually, its an android forum! And if u want to unlock ur phone, then maybe Google can help u! Or go to some nearby hacking shops, Those guys will make it for few bucks!

This is an Android device form but in this case let's put that aside. As @lionelsuyog had suggest. Its best to get your device unlocked at shops. It not expensive and its worth the bucks.
Thank you guys so much for responding! I didn't realize this was android only I apologize! I have seen online there are unlock programs that don't charge much. Does anyone know if any online unlock programs work or are good? I so much appreciate your help

How to know before buying new out-the-box S6 if it has Sony or Samsung camera sensor?

Hi,
I'm saying good bye to my trusty old S4 today & buying a brand new S6 (920F) out the box. Did some research on S6 last night & discovered that some models ship with a Sony camera sensor (superior) and some with Samsung camera sensor (inferior).
I read that those manufactured in Korea are more likely to have the Sony sensor as opposed to those made in Vietnam which are more likely to have the Samsung sensor. It should state on the box in which country it was made, right?
Can anyone confirm this or advise otherwise?
Impossible. Case closed.
And you're better off with the new HTC 10 or you could always wait for Nexus 2016.

I'm picking the S6 up for cheap on a contract. Nexus has very little features compared to <insert manufacturer> in general & doesn't get sold in my country. HTC has no support in my country and is terribly over priced too!
I'm happy with an "old" Samsung Galaxy S6 and (for all its shortcomings) I will mod it till it's perfect.
So you say it's impossible to determine beforehand which camera sensor I'll be getting just by looking at the box and seeing where it was manufactured? Life certainly is a box of chocolates!
But on the contrary, I always believe "impossible is none" - just ask Nike!

My S6 has the ISOCELL sensor. I do not experience any problems with it. You need not worry about it.

In case you have eye defects or missed it; there's a 'Thank You' button beneath most comments/posts in a thread on XDA for a reason.
Contact a moderator for clarification on its use/purpose.

And i know xda very well i don't need your clarifications , let's stop this Off-Topic now.
