10" Tablet (already have Nexus 7) - General Questions and Answers

Hey all,
I'm an avid Nexus fan and currently have the Nexus 5 and the latest Nexus 7.
Now I like the 7" tablet but sometimes I find it a bit small, it's great for reading ebooks. But for browsing and Netflix a bigger screen is nicer.
Now I have been looking @ website of a local shop and there really isn't much choice if you want a capable tablet with android.
The Nexus 10 is old (and to be fair it look ugly), Xperia tablet has big ass bezels.
So the only option that remains is the samsung tab 4 Pro 10.1, tab 4 10.1 and the tab 10.1 note or an Ipad air.
I understand now why so many people have an ipad, there just isn't much choice.

Benefits of Samsung phone and tablet

I'm purchasing a galaxy note 2 from sprint next week. I am also in the market for a tablet its either the samsung note 10.1 or the ASUS infinity. Is there any benefits of having a samsung phone and tablet? The reasons why I want a infinity is for the slightly better display and battery performance, but like the S-Pen functions on the note 2. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

In my opinion I believe the note 10.1 out performs the infinity and if all you want is the display get the nexus 10. I've had my note for 2 months and love it
isnt the nexus 10 have no expandable storage?
No it's not, that can be a deal breaker for some but i figure between dropbox and other cloud services it wouldn't bother me. But back to between the note and the infinity. Screen res the infinity definitely wins but hardware it's a close race. In quadrant standard (take that for what it's worth) i score consistently in the mid 5000's. When it updates to jelly bean it will be much better. (my galaxy s3 went from 5200 to 6100 with the update) i have yet to slow this thing down.
even though it is a lower res screen it still has more pixels than the ipad 2 and HD movies still look pretty stunning.
If you see some of the post in this forum there is a word that N10 has lots of issue specificly with display as far infinity is concerned it has whole list of issues which have been talked about by its owners in this as well as forum specific to infinity but when it comes to note you will find there are some issues with quality but it restricted to display only and most of the actual users (there are many who are fake owners who only citizise note) will only praise not
I agree that there are very few issues with this tablet, and if you have a note 2 then you will love having both devices so similar, it will make syncing them a breeze.
I previously had the Transformer TF101 (the original copper); this Note blows it out of the water. Sure, the display isn't on par with the Infinity's, but I got the Note because I use it for taking notes and drawing stuff. For me, I rather have the stylus over the keyboard (though I am looking for a keyboard dock of a sort) because I take notes in physics classes. However.. I'd go for the Nexus 10 if you don't need the stylus. Although this tablet has better hardware than almost everything out there (or is it just everything?), the Nexus 10 is a great price for a great tablet with a great display, and that's all you need if you don't want the stylus. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 for my phone, but I haven't noticed better syncing or whatever compared to when I used my Asus Tablet..
benefits:
- same apps for special Samsung markets
- synchronization works better on same brande devices
- special S pen application will works perfect on both device
- you need just Kies in PC (if you are using this kind of SW)
- compatibility of accesories

In the market for a Tablet?

Are Tablets that worth it?
I have a nice android phone (HTC Amaze)
A low end gaming laptop (Acer Aspire 5742G-6426)
What exactly do you do on a Tablet that I don't already do on my phone/Laptop.
That Tablet I was thinking of getting is the Nexus 7, but I have heard rumors of a new Nexus.
I am planning on spending round $200.
Other Tabs I am thinking of are the Kindle, Nook?(no), Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.
Others that are not out yet:
HP Slate 7
Archos Platinum
The low price Acer one
Really what I am trying to get to is should I get the Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, whatever else, or wait for a new Tablet.
I was in the market for a tablet a few months ago and after weighing the pros and cons of all available 7 inch models i chose the galaxy tab 2 and i have not regretted my choice once! It has pretty good performance and it has some pretty nice features and for $179 it is a great deal. I have been using it primarily for gaming, internet browsing and, and watching videos, and it handles these tasks beautifully. It plays demanding ghames like grand theft auto smoothly, the web browsing is smooth and fast, and video playback is clear and smooth. Also the sd card slot is a great feature that the nexus 7 doesnt have along with the rear camera. My tab has been great for me, but browse around and decide what you want in a tablet and find the one that suits your needs the best. Good luck!

[Q] Should I get a Galaxy note 10.1 or the new 8.0?

I only have 8 days to decide which one I want.
I always have been atracted to 10.1 tablets the only thing it makes me wonder about getting the 8.0 is that is newer + a little bit more faster.
Can you all tell me how is the tablet? never used it.. Is it good? fast? smooth? Can be flashed to be much better?
At first I was a little bit in between ipad or samsung but I decided samsung, now I'm between theses 2
The speed difference between the Not 8 and Note 10.1 is negligible, you'll appreciate the extra real estate space afforded by the 10.1 for S Pen apps.
The spen on the Note 10.1 is what sets it apart from all other tablets. If you have no interest in using a stylus, then any of the other Galaxy Tabs will give you the same experience.

You do realize 8.0 has the S-Pen, too, right?
Sorry, I for some reason I was thinking of the Galaxy Tab.
So to the original question, I would agree with the other post about the speed being negligible. It really depends on what you are using the tablet for. I use my 10.1 for sketching, and the 10" is a good size for that.
hi
yesterday i got my 10.1 and i did see one more ie the 8 if im right this one is 8 inch then id say its is better to have a bigger screen i was using a 7inch tab and really wanted a bigger one i wasn't all that impressed with the 8 inch one so i feel did the right thing in getting the 10.1 this is just FYI on my decision to buy the 10.1
i also did see other brand in the same size but this one blew me away man yes it was way 2 costly for me but i just fel in love with it and got it and in my country(india) their was a CC offer with 9 months interest free payment yes no processing fee and no interest so i just piked it up :laugh:
and im loving it man:good::laugh::laugh:
I have to think for overall use, the Note 10.1 will trump the 8.0.

I definetely made my mind.
I'm getting the 10.1 Galaxy note mostly 'cause the processor is almost the same as the 8 (quadcore 1,4 vs 1,6) and my main concerned: the size. I'm really excited to watch series on the tablet and with the speakers will be a very cool experience

Want a BIG tablet, anything other than Samsung 12.2?

I want a big tablet (over 10 inches) are there ANY tablets larger than 10 inches other than the Samsung Galaxy Pro 12.2 coming out this year that have been announced or rumored?
Did a search and could not find any rumors or announcements, I want a big tab (had a Nexus 10 for a little while and wanted it bigger so I sold it, have a Nexus 7 that travels with me so the big one is just for the house / watching media and a big back library of comics to read, I am leaning towards the Galaxy Pro 12.2 since there is really nothing else, gaming not a big factor, any advice? Thanks!

Thinking of buying note 10.1

I love the note series and had the original note phone, the note 3, and now the note edge. I love the use of a stylus, so I got the Toshiba Encore 2 Write 8 inch. It's a slim and neat tablet, but I find that I want a bigger screen and would like to go back to android.
So I'm probably going to put the Toshiba on swappa and I'm thinking I can afford the note 10.1.
How is the battery life for the older devices?
How is memory? I've seen 16 and 32 gig, but since it's expandable, I wasn't sure if it mattered as much.
Advice?
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for a tablet now. It is really outdated in my opinion. Screen isn't good, RAM is 2 GB, etc.
I get that you like to use the stylus, but still I don't recommend this. I would get something like the Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 which isn't pricey and is a great tablet IMO.
I'm surprised. Are you referring to the note 10.1 2014? I thought that the screen was pretty good!
Hmmmm
And I'm really looking for a bigger screen. Is the shield just 8 inch?
