Venstar2050 boot issue - General Questions and Answers

I got a Venstar2050 off of ebay (Chinese made tablet) I had it a couple of days, and it was sluggish. So I preformed a factory reset on it, I did it through the android OS, within the system settings. It worked, booted fine, until a reset. I now get a "no command" dead android logo. There are no combination of buttons that seems to pull it into a recovery mode. I've read that there is no recovery mode on some Chinese made tablets. If anyone is curious, there are vol+, vol-, a back button, and a power button, on the device. I did some searching for a couple of days and I could not find much info on this tablet (I had a feeling I wouldn't find much), or any way of adding a recovery to a tablet that may not have one. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hi there!
I searched XDA and found nothing in your device. I will ask a moderator to move your question to our general Q&A section, found here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help
Otherwise, you could try contacting the manufacturer about flashing original firmware and for the files.
Good luck! ?

Thanks for the reply! I've attempted to find the manufacturer for the device, but the only "venstar" I found in Google, with a legitimate website, didn't appear to be the correct manufacturer.
From my understanding of these Chinese devices, they are mostly all built off of the same motherboard.
I'd also like to add that my device is a 10.1 inch screen. That might make a difference between the motherboards.
if someone has got into recovery mode on a newer Chinese tablet that has the same button layout as mine, I could try the same combination of buttons, or whatever used to do this.
Also, is there a way to force a factory reset through usb to pc using software, like adb?

Has anyone found a way to get into recovery mode on this tablet?
Or any other information on how to fix my issue, maybe some simple things I could try?
I should also mention, I have found a little "reset" button on the tablet. But all it seems to do is just do a basic reset of the tablet. Not a factory reset. I've also tried using that, in a combination of other buttons along with the power button to get into a recovery mode, but nothing seems to work.

HELP !

[Q] Bricked Android Tablet, Please help me.

I accidentally installed the wrong version of cwm on a softwinerEvb A13 model android 4.1.1 tablet. (I know dumb mistake - I have a few different versions I downloaded for different devices and I accidentally grabbed and flashed the wrong one with flashify app. Now I'm bricked as far as I know. I rebooted and it booted normally fine. Then I tried to boot into recovery (at this point I hadn't realized it was the wrong cwm version). The tablet just went to the boot screen and sits there. I held the power button to power down. devices turns off. then I tried booting back to normal and it gives me the same boot screen and sits there. I've tried every button combination and it just sits on the boot screen.
Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thank you very much.
ADB won't recognize device. It just says "error: device not found".
Of any mobilr bricks there are two ways to repair, one is from adb and other is from recovery, but in ur case these two are not working.
Somehow try buttons combo and enter the mobile, such that ur pc recognizes the device, thats it problems solved...
SENT FROM MONSTER ! ! !

sounds like you're in big trouble man , just search and you'll find answers , if booting and restoring is no use idk how lol.
BRICKED 7inch Irola Tablet...PLEASE HELP
I am in DIRE need of some help with my tablet. I received this irola dx752 tablet bricked and cannot fix it for the life of me. I am able to hold power and volume up and get into recovery system version 4.2.01. I Have tried a factory reset and a wipe system cache and the tablet just reboots to the green robot with and exclamation mark. If I press volume up, it brings me back to the system recovery. Now i am not very versed in ADB but I tried to sideload just about every firmware I could find for an a13 allwinner a8 cortex 7inch tablet, since the irola website has taken down its firmware. Also, fastboot will not work on this tablet whatsoever (it just says waiting for device) when i enter any command. I have never seen this tablet boot into a rom of any kind and therefore cannot tell if USB Debugging was ever enabled. I also Have tried different drivers but the one that seem to hold is the Android ADB Interface. CAN ANYONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS OR SOME HELP? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

[Completed] ClockworkMod Builder Problem and Bootloader Reboot Problem.

Hello there, XDA!
I'm new here, so pardon me if i post threads in wrong categories, accidentally turn out stupid etc.
I have a problem, two that is.
As of first, my device, which is a tablet PC, MeanIT M754 is not supported for ClockworkMod. So i tried to build one for it using the ClockworkMod Recovery Builder.
I waited, waited, but only what i got is a page saying:
Your build id is:
[build ID]
There were no attachments, files or anything. There was also a link, leading to a "not found error" page, and there was, i THINK, the one that leads to the main page.
I tried typing the build ID in the link, but nope, nothing.
I really don't know how to make it work.
For the second, bootloader.
It's kinda obvious EVERYONE wants to unlock their Android's bootloaders these days.
I tried some apps, but when i granted them root access (forgot to mention i'm rooted), and clicked Reboot Bootloader, all i got was a black screen, going on and on unless i keep holding the Power button and reboot it. I tried waiting, but...eh, it did nothing.
I even tried every button combination possible (except Power+VolumeUp, cause you know already):
Power+VolumeDown
Power+VolumeDown, but when it goes to manufacturer logo release Power button
Power+VolumeUp and VolumeDown, which for some reason, lead me to the recovery mode
Power+VolumeDown, holding them both.
I also tried to power it up, then hold the VolumeDown button. But all i got was Safe Mode.
About the ADB, it just can't recognize the device although i have proper drivers installed.
Can someone tell me what's the problem, or how to fix it?
One more information. I have Windows XP on my PC so if there's any program for bootloader unlocking for Windows Vista/7/8, i'm limited, but also doomed.
Thanks for your time.

From what info you provided your device is a Meanit Promise Tablet 7" M754 corect ? At this time there is no specific Forum for your device. I would suggest posting HERE to see if anyone else has the same device, and some info for you. As to building CWM for your device. You should check out THIS, and also HERE.
Thanks.

[Q] can you list reasons tablets wont boot?

Hi, I am new to this, but I am learning fast. I have a RCA tablet (rct6378w2) that will not boot. It powers on, but hangs on the RCA splashscreen. I am able to access the recovery system. Wiping the cache and factory reset doesnt seem to fix the problem. Because the tablet powers on and the screen works okay, I feel like there is still hope for the device. I was wondering if someone could list all of the common reasons why a tablet will power on, but not boot into android. Extra credit if you can tell me which possible problems are fixable and which ones are not. Thanks!

1. ROM is wrong for the tablet
2. Tablet has no ROM installed
These are the issues possible for you as you say you wiped and factory reset the tablet but did you re-install the ROM afterwards ?

Thanks for the response. Well, to give clarity as to when the problem began, this is what happened. I was doing normal things on my tablet, and it seemed to lag really bad. As I tried to press the home button once or twice, I saw some strange lines on the screen as it faded (kind of like when a battery dies). Then the device restarted and hung on boot. After rebooting a few times, I then tried to wipe the cache with no success. After this, I did the factory reset. I know that it cannot be the wrong ROM, but I wonder if somehow the files were corrupted or if the storage unit could have failed. Anyways, according to various instructions I have seen online, I thought that doing the factory reset would restore the original factory rom image? Am I incorrect?

Depends, if it's a custom recovery it could wipe everything

Thanks for the response. I have only used the regular stock recovery that is preloaded on the device (I think it's called Android System Recovery 3e. To my knowledge, I don't believe there are any working custom recoveries for this device. It seems that doing the factory reset is normally the way to go to fix OS issues on this device. However, when the factory reset process is successful (as far as going through the process is concerned), but it does not fix the issue, it makes me wonder if the factory recovery image is corrupt or something. Any ideas? Also, if the device turns on and I can navigate through the recovery options and even use ADB, do you think the hardware is still good? If so, then it would be a software/firmware problem... right?
I would simply like to get the device working. I don't care whether its a stock recovery or custom recovery, stock rom or custom Rom. I just want to use the device again and not have to throw it in the garbage. Do you have any ideas how I can get it going?
One other thing, I just don't understand why it's so difficult to restore a tablet. A PC is ultra easy to fix by using a self-booting recovery disk or a live linux iso. Perhaps someone can explain to me why it seems to be impossible to find a working rom anywhere for this device.

Unfortunatley because it's not a common brand of tablet not many developers are working on creating ROMs for it

tf300t bricked

Hi all,
I registered in order to ask for some help 'cause I'm almost desperate
I (read as: my brother) bricked my tf300t, now I basically can't start it neither in recovery mode or other.
When restarted it just turns back to the asus start screen and doesn't move anymore. :crying:
I read a lot online but i can't find a solution, does anybody know some sort of magic very very (very) hard reset (I would't mind an hardware reset if this is a thing)?
Thanks all.

I'm assuming that it won't go to the bootloader menu when you start it pressing vol down and power. unless you have the NvFlash blobs for APX mode, then there is probably nothing more that can be done

Acer Iconia One (B1-770) - How to reset to factory? (no recovery and forgot pin)

Hi All,
Doing a favour for a friend whose son keeps changing his pin on his tablet and has been changing it so often (to keep parents out no doubt) he has forgotten the pin and cannot get into the tablet.
His father doesn't really care to lose what's on the tablet as it's the kids own fault and has asked if I could restore it to factory.
In trying to do so i have encountered a litany of issues which i will describe below:
1. I have tried holding Volume Up + Power - This takes me to a screen that just says something to the effect of "Fastboot mode" and nothing else and it essentially just hangs there until batteries run out or I hit the reset pin.
2. I have tried flashing it over ADB using my laptop but also no luck as the device is "unauthorized" since I can't get in to the device with my laptop connected and hit the "authorize" button that comes up when you connect to an ADB interface.
This also means I cannot root the device and flash a recovery on to it.
3. They did not have a google account so restoring via the google account is also a no-go.
I'm not sure what other options there are but I find it very odd that there is no way to get around this. I do realize it's a form of security, but this is a legitimate scenario where one needs to flash the device and there is no way to do so. In any case, i know this is a hairy topic so just my .02, dont want to have a debate lol
Is there any way for me to reset this device to factory or at least flash some form of android os on this tablet?
Thanks to all who read and especially to those who assist!
Still no luck, any thoughts, anyone?
for the life of me I cannot put this device into recovery mode.... i've tried all combinations of buttons but at most it always goes into safemode.... i don't feel like there is recovery on this device even though that probably doesn't make sense.. i simply cannot get INTO revovery.
Has anyone been successful getting into recovery on this device model?
Have you tried on fastboot mode? fastboot -w
