Battery - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Can someone give me there opinion of the battery life...I had the original One and got rid of it because of poor battery. I have the G2 but am thinking of changing to m8, only concerned about the battery. Is it much better than the One was?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8
Battery life on the htc one is good but like any other battery it all depends on what and how you use it.
I can get through a whole day with 23% remaining.

closed as dup thread.
Thanks.

Extended Battery?

Does anyone know if HTC will create an extended battey for this phone?
Hardly. Case is solid, there's no space for it.
I found this 1800mAh one. It is not made by HTC but it should support Desire S.

doesnt look reliable.. but its mugen whi makes that battery. dont buy from tha website, go to the official mugen website.
are you having problems with the battery life for desire s?
experience says 3rd party batteries doesn't do justice... eventhough they have a higher rating, they perform more poorly than the orginal lower rated battery.
My battery seems pretty weak, one day of moderate usage, and it was gone, a little bit of everything, wi-fi (no more than 1 hour all day long), games, calls, camera, browsing through the menus, aprox 40-50% backlight only slightly above my average use...
how long should it keep the phone running for?
can't find reliable info on this, too few people have this device, I hope the comunity gets bigger
1.1800mah seen it's not reliable
2.there is one movable charger in markey
any ideea if there is an extended battery for the phone connector? for sos when you remain without battery and desparate need the phone
it will be good to upgrade the battery..very fast one to drain up.
found somewhere samsung gs2 already come up with 2100mAh battery which is very good

Galaxy note, with a 2,500 mah battery!
But a huge 4.5" screen, Like HD amoled scrren, 1.4 dual core..
That will drain the large battry around the same as a standard phone!

I use this one as an emergency battery pack. Can highly recommend it. There are cheaper ones out there, but they usually break or don't meet the claims of their capacity...

Maybe i've got to reset battery controller history?
and how to do this? ))
that's because it probably isn't as good as the original battery. it's from ebay and the fact that it's painted gold just makes it even more hard to believe.
You should always get a battery from a reliable company.
the mugen power is £30 from mobile fun.

ah :/ What is wrong with promoting cheaper prices?
why coudnt the mod just delete the posts? It was a good reference!
I dont know for sure, if this was the reason. It was special offers for limited persons, so this could be...
But i absolutly agree with you!
And as i was a mod in a german board some time ago i think it is a shame to delete a whole thread --> very, very sad...

Anyone care to help?

So I've been lurking on this site, trying to figure things out and I just can't do it. This is my first smartphone so I'm new to this. From my understanding you can reprogram your phones for better use. I'd like a reliable program that increases battery usage because I do not have good battery life as is. Can someone please give me the run-down on how to do this? Thank you in advance.
first you will need to s-off your phone the root it and root it all these things you will find in the development section.

Here's a battery tip most of us do to get better battery life. We ditch the stock battery and buy a long lasting battery like anker or mugen. I'm running anker right now and its really helped. Finally I broke down and ordered a mugen. It's fairly expensive compared to anker but hopefully the mugen will prove to be even better. These long lasting batteries will give you much better results than the stock battery. As for rooting , you will love the freedom and customization available after you root! Your device truly becomes your own. If you don't like something you can simply change it when rooted. It's well worth the effort. I hope this helps and best wishes.

Can you post a link to what battery your talking about please? or pm me a link
Go to amazon, search for 'HTC Sensation battery' buy the twin pack Anker that comes with a deskcharger.
Use the deskcharger to charge one battery while the other is in the phone, when the phone gets to 5% battery swap them over, then repeat for a couple of years until the batteries need replacing.
If you decide to go for a custom ROM then a 'sense-less' version will double your battery life (in most cases).
You can also try mugen battery, just depending on what you want to spend. I finally broke down and got a mugen for myself. It should arrive soon. I'm hoping it's even better than anker! Look at both mugen and anker then make your choice. You can get both on amazon.com. anker is about 20 bucks while mugen is about 80 dollars. I cannot say yet if it's worth the cost because mine hasn't arrived yet but I know my anker has made a great difference!

So I just cracked the screen of my sensation because I'm an idiot. Is there a way to replace the screen, if so can someone show me a link to what is needed?
So I'm trying to S-OFF my phone and it's not working. I got the terminal Emulator and I type in "SU" and it says not found. I'm stuck at this part and it's pretty frustrating. I appreciate any help. It's a HTC Sensation under T-mobile if that means anything.

Hi,
I am not sure which guide you are following, but have a look at THIS ONE

[Q] Whats your next phone?

Just wanted to see what you current sensation users who are planning on upgrading this year have in mind. I'm thinking about either the s5 or m8, but leaning more towards the s5 for the removable battery, camera, and lighter weight. I haven't had the chance to play wit either one, but those are my thoughts right now. I've been a sense user since forever, but would like to try out touchwiz despite all the bad things i heard about it (heard it may have improved in the s5). Would love to hear peoples thoughts. Thanks

I upgraded my sensation in February to the One (M7), however I still cannot put my sensation down for a minute... The development is far too good on this device to forget about it...

I never had an issue with battery life on the sensation. I still use the original battery came with the phone and doesn't matter what rom I use, can squeeze at least 24 hours out of it. However I have to admit I have always drained the battery down to 4-5% and charged it back to 100% without a cut. (That might have helped to optimize the battery?) I experience the same with the One. Excellent battery life, 1.5-2 days with general use and some games. Although if I don't use 3g, it is off. I have no issues with non removable batteries, I think the are made to last. And I do the same with this, drain it till 4-5% and charge it back to 100%.

[Q] Should I preorder? Battery issues still exist?

I was going to pre-order this device when it goes up for preorder on the 27th.
The only concern I have is the battery life. I'm coming from my HTC One M7ul and it isn't getting that great of battery life..
1. Does the OnePlus One have better battery life than the One m7 (for anyone that has had a M7)?
2. Has the battery drain issues been fixed with this phone?
I don't want to get stuck with a phone at has worse battery than my previous. I've only heard of "battery drain" issues from some forum posts.
Some critics say that the battery is "awesome" or "very good", but when I hear it from users that actually use the phone daily, they said it isn't that great... somehow even with a 3100mAh battery... strange.

battery drain = the battery doesn't last very long throughout the day, drains quicker than it should? lol

Ive heard about a few, but in most cases its about the user having unnecessary apps on.

Where are you getting this information? The battery and CPU combo on this device yields phenomenal battery life. It's light years better than the HTC.

From OnePlus One forums and here at XDA...
But yeah a 3100mAh battery w/ a 801 SOC should be pretty good.
Wouldn't doubt it would be better than the m7. Thank you!
No issues on battery life for me. Better than anything I've had before.

Keep in mind that battery drain issues are usually user generated, and are not the fault of the phone or software/firmware. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this device to anyone.

A Cyanogenmod phone is always #1 to me. Especially being only $349 for 64GB model!!!

Share your battery life stats

Hey guys, I figured I'd create a thread specifically for posting battery life stats. Post away. Give some details if you can!
Thanks!
It wouldn't be fare considering I have the Mugen 6200. But I'll post some screen shots once its dialed in.

My battery life has never been great on the G3. I'll chalk it up to the screen. My G2 was amazing and most of the phones I had after that were better than what the G3 is now. I'd say I got comparable life out of my M8 which is not saying much at all. S5 killed this thing on battery life. But overall I like the G3 better. Just means I have to charge my phone at work which isn't a huge deal
