SD Card ejected? - HTC One S

I was about to flash from CM10 to CM11, but before flashing a new ROM I was manually removing all my apps so I wouldn't forget anything.
Now, after a phone reboot I'm trying to access the SD Card via ES File Explorer. But it says my SD Card is ejected... How do I fix this issue? Tried booting into Recovery as well, but it just boots into CM10... Did I mess up something?

Did you flash the correct hboot of cm11? Should be the 2.15 (official) version.
Did you flash CM11 with the correct recovery? 2.7.0.8 if using TWRP.

I haven't flashed a new ROM yet, I was about to. But my SD Card can't be found anymore. About the HBOOT version, is it really required to have HBOOT 2.15 or higher? Because the CM wiki says:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_ville
Firmware compatibility:
CM 10.1-11.0: HBOOT 2.13.0000, 2.15.0000, 2.15.4444
EDIT:
Forget about the HBOOT, I'm running 1.13.. So yeah I will have to update, but first I need to get my SD Card back..

All the latest nightlies for CM11 require flashing through TWRP 2.7.0.8 or higher. 2.7.0.0 simply will not work.
I would start there.

Make sure to read the entire page, including the paragraph at the bottom. Download the non-dm version.

ADB only works for me in MTP mode...maybe with your SD messed up, MTP mode is unavailable? If you type adb devices and get none found, that means your adb is messed up, not recovery.
Dumb question, but when you go to settings/storage, and scroll down...can you mount sd?

Settings of what exactly? I can't boot into recovery, and my previous CM (CM10.0) is stuck on the logo as well. I almost feel like flashing a RUU, and start all over.. This seems messed up to say the least.
Since I can't get into recovery nor boot into my ROM, I'm not able to select MTP mode.

Told you it was a dumb question. Flashing an RUU is a pretty good idea anyways...start from a clean slate with all the correct firmware in place.

Have you tried to enter recovery via bootloader? (vol down + power)
Sent from nowhere over the air...

Or just fastboot flash the correct recovery and then format data and internal storage via recovery.
This sounds a lot like the corrupted data partition caused by a bad update to 2.16. Something similar could be occurring here given the fstab updates in cm11.
You made it sounds like you are not on 2.15 or 2.16, is that correct?

Remember you really have to mash that volume down button on some of these phones. I have to take mine out of the case.

I never tried updating to 2.16 yet, so that can't be the problem.
Right now I flashed a ICS 4.0.3 RUU and everything is working great again. I just rooted the device again, went successful. After that I flashed recovery with fastboot, it said it was successful as well.
But when I access PWR BTN + VOL DOWN, and select Recovery, it simply turns black screen and boots my phone normally. Something else must be wrong, what could be keeping my phone from flashing into Recovery?

It seems that it doesn't matter WHAT recovery I'm trying to flash, none of them work. The phone simply boots itself, instead of booting into Recovery.
I will try your 2.15 RUU, does it work for any HTC One S (ville) device?

Something is really ****ing up things.. I just tried to run rumrunner_HTC_0.5.0 to get my device S-OFF, at the very end of the process it said my device is not rooted. I'm 100% certain I followed the steps exactly written at http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions/ it even said: successfully unlocked..
EDIT:
Makes sense, UNLOCKING is not the same as ROOTING, doh.. well I need to boot into Recovery and flash the SuperSU to get rooted, but since Recovery isn't working I'm quite lost here..

[Q] Bricked HTC One S

It started off with me rooting my phone and unlocking to bootloader to install a rom. The rom got stuck in a loop at the htc logo so i tried using the recovery in cwm to bring it back to the stock, only my sd card wasnt being found. Ive been reading random things and different parts from different situations and im not sure what ive done tbh.
So the current situation is i cant access cwm i get some weird symbol with a phone and some red symbol across it. I can access fastboot though. Ive tried the ruu thing but i get an error of it not being able to update, from what i believe its because the rom is a higher version than the ruu and ive been unable to find a higher version. The version i have is for 1.84.531.2 and what is on my phone is 1.84.6 something. Not sure where to go from here, any help is appreciated
Edit: Ive also tried flashing the stock boot.img using fastboot flash but i get a signature error or something.
Re-flash recovery, then install ROM. Then fastboot flash boot boot.IMG!

[Q] [RESOLVED] Is my phone bricked? Please help

Okay so today I was tinkering with my phone when I accidentally deleted a system file that was crucial. So I went to bootloader and wiped phone (I know that was the wrong thing to do, now). So I have no ROM on my phone. I was able to ADB the ROM I need to my phone on internal storage (not /sdcard) but the problem is whenever I try to flash it, I get the following error over and over in the code area in TWRP "E: failed to mount /sdcard (invalid argument). I've gone to the mount options screen and when I try to select sdcard nothing happens, I can't select it. If it's any help, the ROM I'm trying to flash has the official page here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804223 and the ROM I was on before this whole thing is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868236 . Any help is greatly appreciated, I really need this phone fixed!
EDIT: Alright, so I flashed stock recovery, relocked, and then used my friend's PC (thanks man!) and now my phone is in perfect working condition. Just re-rooted and re-unlocked the bootloader in like 10 minutes, which is funny because it took me like an hour and a half the first time. Anyways, thank you to all the users on this forum for helping me. Appreciate it!
NEVER Factory Reset or Clear Storage from bootloader it'll screw up your storage inside of twrp. I tried formatting storage afterwards in twrp and in windows and it still didn't help twrp see it. I ended up running the ruu again.
easiest thing to do is run the ruu again, reunlock bootloader, flash twrp and flash rom. then never factory reset or clear storage in bootloader again.
if you find another method let me.

And youll have to learn some simple adb commands tto relock your bootloader..or it won't work someone correct me if wrong
Hi guys yep you'll need to do some adb work to relock for ruu. However... if you still have recovery? You could try flashing a clean ROM. Then flash the cm10 over that. Of course youll need to delete cache,s before flashing cm10. I'd give that a shot first.
(Edit) I just noticed you having the mount issue also... ignore that. Just check you PC it should still show up. And it may ask you to format the drive? Your OK to do that fat32.

Easiest way to fix is to connect phone to pc, then select mount, mount usb in twrp and windows will prompt you to format.
Then once that is done you can copy your rom of choice across unmount and flash.

s-off!!! After you ruu before reunlocking or anything are you still bootlooping? I have had that happen before, I fixed it once with a factory reset in bootloader. Make sure you only do factory reset in bootloader completely stock or you will corrupt sdcard. Running "fastboot erase cache" in fastboot after flashing custom recovery or even stock could help, i always run this command anytime i flash something in fastboot. When flashing a custom rom make sure to do full wipes, i always go to advcanced in wipe tab and select everything except sdcard.

I booted into recovery and tried a "full wipe" said it failed. screen shows a lot of unable to mounts...

very useful and easy to follow thanks for the link, however adb commands don't seem to be working as when I try any of them nothing happens. even adb devices just says list of devices attached and there is no list and no devices, adb shell does nothing etc. I tried a factory reset from bootloader and it just rebooted into twrp...when from feeling like a king when I finally got su on there to such a dumbass now, and the wife is enjoying telling me I should've have messed with it in the first place.
If you can get into twrp do it then mount your device to pc, copy a ROM of choice to filesystem, unmount phone, do a full wipe, then flash the ROM.

If you can't do a full wipe then just flash the ROM without it then if it works you can reflash if needed

On the other hand formatting to fat32 will fix your mounting issue I think

ok so I re-formatted it and was about to enter twrp and mount the drive, I downloaded the latest updated rom from htc.com and tried to load it with twrp that didn't work so I tried to use htc's tool and that didn't work either.
You need to slow down and do some research before trying all this stuff which you have no clue about. You're on a fast track to actually bricking your phone. All you need to do is install a ROM in recovery, reboot to bootloader, flash the boot.img from the ROM via fastboot and reboot into the ROM. That's all you needed to do from the very beginning because you're s-on. Unfortunately the people who were trying to help you didn't identify this and kinda sent you on a wild goose chase

Well he had a corrupted that wouldn't let him mount the SD so my advice was to format it to fat32 then install a ROM from the forum.
Sent from my One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The corrupted sd card wasn't until later in the thread. You don't need adb for that anyway, you format it through Windows. All he had to do originally was flash the boot.img via fastboot.

Sorry that I didn't lead him to exactly where he needed. There are a lot more experienced people on XDA than I am to lead him in the right direction. Just trying to tell him tell him not to be intimidated to learn some adb. Could be helpful in the near future.

You should be able to just Google adb/fastboot. The traditional way is to download the Android SDK and get it from there but that's a huge download. I know there are sources which will supply you with just adb and fastboot but I can't remember where.

Problem installing carbon rom 4.3.1 over maximus hd

Hye. I installed maximushd rom few weeks ago. Now i wanted to install carbon rom but each time i flash it from recovery it fails.
I also installed miui rom. It flashes fine and boots. But i cant access my sd card. Only internal 48mb can be seen. Is there any solution for these problems?

Sure just flash the old firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322755
bootloader clear storage
fastboot flash your new custom recovery
Then load whatever rom you want and install it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
or another way, I did, just to see if I could go back if I wanted to
flashed stock recovery
factory reset from bootloader... waited for it to do it's thing.... when it rebooted to phone I held down the power button to reset it.. held down volume down to get back into bootloader.
made sure it was in fastboot usb mode
ran RUU
But that was kind of overkill.

Sure, it's not going to get rid of Soff or anything.
That only happens when you use the ****** (fastboot command that will not be named, because someone will use it and have a paperweight)

Thx for your advices !
By doing the 1st or the 2nd method, then I'll have to re-unlock via HTC Dev ?
I ask that because I want to restore with RUU and I see everywhere that I have to relock the bootloader before doing this.

You don't have to relock bootloader to run RUU on s-off device.
Just reboot to fastboot, make sure your pc can see your phone and execute ruu*.exe

Yes, that is the important bit, clear storage in bootloader when you have the STOCK recovery.
The stock recovery fixes the issues. (from what I have read on our forums)

its a bit late but i would like to tell you that it worked
Um back on miui v5 :good::good:

[Q] bricked it

So I took one wrong turn and bricked my htc one x.
It was in a restart loop, and I hadn't changed anything before that. I let it restart on charge for a couple of days hopefully it works one time (it did once but happened again the next time I shut it off)
So I had no luck with that, so I backed up all my data with twrp. I went to wipe and I accidentally pressed "system" too.
Now the phone only gives me the bootloader and not even twrp.
Tampered
unlocked
s-on
What can I do?
If u can access bl,ur not bricked

Luckily you're not even close to being bricked, all you've done is wipe the system. That's easily fixed by flashing a ROM again, you're s-on so don't forget to flash the boot.img with fastboot afterwards. Check out the Evita FAQ thread and the How-To Guide For Beginners thread in my signature, you'll find them really valuable. I'd also strongly suggest you get s-off, it's very easy and is pretty much a necessity these days.

can you guys give a more detailed explanation? I ****ed up once already and am a bit scared lol
So I flash twrp again, then install a rom? Does it have to be the original or can I go custom at this point?
Recovery depends on the ROM type. Some Roms require a fstab or selinux, and sometimes a modded recovery . Always read the Roms o.p..
Happy flashing!![emoji14]

Did you read the How-To Guide For Beginners thread like I suggested? It contains detailed instructions on anything you need to do right now (flashing recovery, ROM, boot.img). You might as well use the latest TWRP recovery (2.7.1.0), as it should flash anything. You'll find it here:
http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/evita
As long as you have TWRP recovery installed, you can flash any ROM you like, as long as it's for this device of course.

was not letting me mount, so I formatted with the pc
put PACMAN's 4.4.4 on it, which sucks so far. Doesn't open play store.
I might put on a different one. We'll see.
Thanks for the help guys
Did you flash the correct gapps package to go with PACman? You need to flash the appropriate package to match the Android version of the ROM.
