Hi,
Am new to Android and the Social Organization that I am a volunteer want to use donated cellphones for only GPS aps.
Researching how to root Android phones, I found the Bin4ry rooting method at "How to Root Your ICS or Jelly Bean Android Device Using Bin4ry Universal Method"
Am posting this because I could not find a data base listing all the phones that Root has been successful using the Bin4ry rooting method.
Is there something like this?
I would also like to thank Bin4ry for sharing his Android Rooting Expertise!!!

can I root my thunderbolt using a mac computer? Also can anyone recomend a website for reading up.on how to root my device and how and where to get cuatom roms?
i find it kind of odd that you're asking such a question on xda ....
(look around, it's all right here. check out development and q&a to learn how)
Short answer - yes
Information on rooting and custom roms can be found in the "Thunderbolt Android Development" forum.
jcase has an excellent step by step thread on the rooting process titled "[ROOT] MR1/OTA PermRoot + Unlock Bootloader - Safer/Easier 5/12/2011"
You will need the Android Debug Bridge (adb) shell installed on your mac in order to use jcase's process. Google something like "how to install adb on a mac" and you will find all kinds of helpful information. Downloads and manuals are also available at developer.android.com.
DemoManMLS has a thread on thunderbolt roms and kernels titled "The Official Thunderbolt ROMs & Kernels Listing v2.0 (Updated 5/28 9:45 PM CST)".
Hope this helps get you started.
There is also a thread in Android Development for OSX (say that 10 times fast). I don't know if it's the "easier/safer" method, but I know it'll get you the platform tools you need.
Hello,
I buy a tablet JMI T970 Tab
It runs on android 4.0.4.
Do you know how I can do for the rooter?
I tried SuperOneClick and it hangs during boot on ADB server.
I tried Unlocker but it always asks me to download a driver (I did install the drivers android debug).
I essater z4root but I can not find a version that works (my antivirus tells me a warning).
Thank you for your help
z4root contains a exploit for the rooting to work so it was correct also z4root doesn't support above 2.3

go to slatedroid on the rk3066 threads
superoneclick 2.3.3 works for this kind of device. You need the corresponding driver to have your tablet recognized by soc. Everything is explained in the n90 or cube u30gt topics.
I have a tablet similar to jmi tech

It's good,
I followed the handling of this topic

It may be a l ittle late, if anyone is interested I've prepared a custom firmware with root, writable /system and extended space (1.5 Gb) for apps.
This firmware is based on latest firmware from JMI (08/26):
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum...0-custom-fw-root-writable-system-1-5-gb-apps/
I have found many many guides and documents regarding many different devices for rooting. I was wondering if there was some general method of rooting a Android Device that would be universal for all devices?
This application exploits the Exynos bug to root a phone. I think this is only for ARM-based devices.
If that doesn't work for some reason (or you are using an x86 based device), you can use Recovery mode to flash the Superuser ROM available in ROM Toolbox Lite, select "ROM Management" and download an appropriate ROM. The download will be in /sdcard/romtoolbox/downloads/downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com

Hello to all Pipo Max M9 users and generaly Rockchip RK3188 processor users.
I tried so hard to find a way to root my Pipo Max M9 after the last upgrade firmware, from original Pipo support site, that was not rooted. Until now (even with the stock firmware) in every android device I had, I was making the root with "Unlock Root" software for windows with one click. At this time It was not possible to do the root via this software.
After a hard try I found the right and easy way to make my tablet be rooted without install other firmwares or custom roms as other solutions needed.
I post it at xda developers cause I trust it very much and it is the first place that I look to find solutions on my problems. I think that many users do the same.
The easiest and "clean" way is describing at:
blog .geekbuying . com / index.php/2013/03/14/how-to-root-rockchip-rk3188-quad-core-device-like-cube-u30gt-2-pipo-m9/#.Us_XzdJdUYs
(Delete the spaces. I done it that way cause I have not already post 10 posts to be accepted to present links)
Happy Rooting! :victory:
This work is not mine.
I re-posted here from Geek Gadgets Blog and from the post of Eric
All thanks to him that helped me too!
Hello all!
I am really strugling with the rooting of RK3288-based Pipo P1 3G Tablet.
Tried virtually every method -- Kingo Root.... Towelroot... Vroot... Unfortunately there is no CWM for it (yet) so I cannot try to root it from the recovery...
Do you have any experience / ideas how to root the RK3288 -- KitKat 4.4.2 based devices ?
They come with Android 4.4.2 KOT49H and kernel 3.10.0.
Thanks !!

Try to ask on freaktab forum, there are other owner of pipo that maybe can help you
Inviato dal mio LG-D802 con Tapatalk
Just for the sake of all PIPO P1 users -- Credits go to Fouk who mentioned this method.
Just follow the link, download the "chineese rooting software - Root Genius" run, enable USB Debug. and click Root. Done.
P.S. It doesn't install SuperSU/Superuser -- it installs Kinguser, but the functionality is the same and you will have full su-access.
Download Root-Genius.

To ask the service personnel of ainol-novo.com, they are engaged in tablet and smart phone business for many years and offer good after-sales service. they have specialized technical personnel on smart phone and tablet.
Thanks for the advertising... but no thanks -- as already described -- there is a working method and there are already custom pre-rooted ROMs out there.
For other users -- you can search for CrewRK Tablets or RileyROM. Personaly using RileyROM now (with some fine tuning) and I am quite happy with it.
Hi,
Can you confirm that it really works? Aybody tried this method with success?

There is no cwm recovery for this device so how to install new rom?
giaur -- check the RileyROM thread. There is TWRP recovery and the whole flashing process is described there.
No need to post here since no Pipo-Dev seems to use XDA Forum.
I won't reply to further questions here. Head to freaktab forums.
Ok I already asked them, most important if this rom is multilanguage
i did some search on RK3288. and i'd love to know how Pipo P1 doing with gaming?? 3D games??
All games run smoothly. I tested Asphalt 8 and Need For Speed Most Wanted.
