[Completed] [Q] Building Kernel For CM - XDA Assist

Hi,
I want to build a Kernel for the GT-I9300 from source for CM, I've tried doing it on Samsung based ROMs,
but what do I need for CM based ROMs? Drivers? Specific tweaks?
Thanks in advance.

There are several Kernels Built for the Samsung Galaxy S3 International from CM Source. You may visit the Device forum. As to CM is concerned, they have a nice Wiki on this topic.

[Q] CM Kernel

When looking for a CM ROM for my Galaxy Tab S i discovered that there is a CM Port Kernel. So what I don't understand is what that kernel actually allows you to do? Can you install CM if you have this kernel? What do you need it for?
Thanks!

[Q] Are Cyanogen devices tree compatible with AOSP ?

Hi all,
I've a question for you guys.
I've a SG3 (i9300), I'd like to know if using the cyanogen device tree for my device (located here) is possible to build AOSP source code.
if yes, then it looks like that would be possible to compile Lollipop AOSP for my device.. am I right ?
Thank you very much.
Cyanogen IS AOSP... Lol. Its AOSP with added features. If that's not an Android 5.0 lollipop kernel source, then it won't boot out of the box. Your best bet would be to get some Android 4.4 kernel source and do ramdisk edits and what not needed to get an Android 5.0 ROM booting. Alternatively, if your device is CM supported, I know they were talking about releasing CM12 soon, you could just hold out to see if your device is supported. Outside of CM, many custom ROMs (AOKP, Pacman, etc.) Take it upon themselves to release ROMs as well. Example: PACman had a 4.4 custom ROM out and in circulation, even before cyanogenmod, so u never know!

Hello, thanks for your answer.
I'd like to know this only for learning purpose, I'm not going to compile the AOSP
What I don't understand, is why adding the device tree to the lollipop AOSP is not sufficient to boot out of the box, can you please explain this in details ? Many thanks.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Plus

Lollipop Rom for sgs+??.
Does any of you think there's gona be a lollipop rom for sgs+
Does our device support ART?. Ive used it on CM11 but it consumes lots of memory.
The sgs has a lot of cm11 nightlies so wont it have CM12?.
If so, will the ariesve team port Cyanogenmod 12 for sgs+ before 2015?.
Should we search for another rom instead of waiting for Cyanogenmod?.
These are a lot of questions which needs thoughtful answers.

[Completed] No CyanogenMod in CUSTOM ROM CENTRAL

In "CUSTOM ROM CENTRAL" there are OmniROM, PAC ROM, Paranoid Android, SlimRoms, AOKP but no CyanogenMod. Why? CyanogenMod is one of the most popular ROM. Then?
Hi there,
CyanogenMod is massive, so there is a website which even has it's own forums.
I think that's why they don't bother having one here.
Thank you

[Completed] Looking for a guide on custom roms or for porting roms.

I own OPT. I am currently setting up to build CM for OPT using sources from few awesome devs who have finally made a bootable CM13.
Right now i am looking for a guide which can show me how to build other custom roms using those CM sources or other available sources.
Like if i want to build slim rom. There is no slimrom source based on marshmallow. So a guide regarding this.
I tried searching but all guides that i found were on how to build roms which were already available.
