[Question] how to replace glass lens? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hi, i've cracked my phones screen and it looks like it is the screen lens. Ive been lookong around on how to repair it and i found out that its quite hard since it is glued to the digitizer. I know i have to use a heatgun to repair it but i need to see if somekne has done it with this specific phone. Anyone know how or know a video about it?

A very detailed post can be found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...cct=/showthread.php&__utmv=-&__utmk=235520898
I know, this process requires buying some tools to get the job done right, but take it from me, it is way safer to go this way than to try with just regular home tools. I spent over $300 trying to fix mine because of a mistake I made when trying to do it without the proper tools. Besides, it still winds up being cheaper than spending ~$110 to fix it with a whole new screen assembly!

Oh, so you only need a video??? Would a descriptive picture guide be helpful? I've torn my Skyrocket apart quite a few times, so i know its insides very well. I could put a guide together for you. Can't YouTube it though, since i have a pretty poor internet connection.

Custom Skins, pics now up!

Needed to start my own thread so I can update it and what not
These are controltac, I use them to wrap vehicles at work it is high grade stuff. The skins wrap the phone to give it clean lines and prevent something catching it, see pics. Unlike other skins out there these actually fit the way controltac is supposed to and they have cutouts for the front camera and sensors. I am a graphic artist and I work with the stuff all the time.
Buy from me I own the phone and know it fits since I use it too.
A controltac skin will help protect your phone without adding bulk and you can give it your own personal touch.
I can design and put anything you want on them, just throw me some images or an idea and I will make it happen.

Yeah, thanks for editing my original design. You made it look a lot better. If you stuck with my design it would look so boring. But then again I wouldn't have your design to compare it to. So thanks.
I'm wondering what the other skins look like applied. Post some pics, guys.
Here are some pics people have sent me
can u remove the skin and then put them on again or its just for one time?

I could, but I would need the phone to test it out on. When I build a template I use a skin from another company to start with and none of them fit right they aren't actual wraps like mine they are basically glorified stickers so I wouldn't wanna just build one off of one without testing first because I don't like putting out garbage lol.
I was thinking that I could open a contract, skin the phone, and then bring it back within the 30 day period but it's gonna be a few weeks before I can test that out

Thanks for the reply and willingness to help. If you have a G2x that is even in pieces, but can salvage the antenna jumper cable and connector ends, that would save me. I found the replacement plastic housing part from a cell phone repair and sales place after extensive research, but Ebay doesn't have anything. I even emailed a bunch of Ebayers that are selling other internal parts for the G2x, but no one has that particular part. Again I appreciate your reply. My email addy is: [email protected] if you want me to send you a picture of the exact plastic part or antanna cable. I can't post links yet as a newbie.

Mobile phobia ( need Help )

well i am having a mobile phobia thats why i am keep changing my mobile phone like after a week the phobia i am having is .. when there is a minor or even unoticable scratch fade aur even a dot on the mobile i get frustrated and then i want to buy a new phone ... i am tired of these things but my phobia wont let me stop .. what do i do ??
This is an expensive phobia...
So even if you've got a case or screen protector on there?
You're using one of the most technologically advanced device ever created in the 200,000 years of human existence. And you're bothered by a scratch or a dot?
Get over yourself.

Look at yourself in the mirror. See the imperfections? You live with them so do the same with your G2X.
If money is not a problem for you, then enjoy the phobia. I am the same way when comes to car. So I feel your pain man.
G2x 2.3.4 root March baseband
I wouldn't say phobia... this is more along the lines of OCD.
You'd just have to force yourself to deal with minor imperfections. No one can help, it's all up to you to force yourself to ignore the faults and try to force rational thinking as to why you want to keep the phone...

alrighty got it its installed on the device im going to use for gps tracking.
Found a chest to use for it already cut down the lip of the chest so it can be sealed airtight. Cut 2 holes in it and wired and threaded the harness Added the weights to stabilize the payload. Its a very simple build tbh. Payload is going to be about 5.5 pounds
Also adding a Casio Camera to this that records in HD format so i can get some other angles.
and as far as helping goes. If we can accurttly project enough where it should land if theres anyone else that lives in california that would love to come help even if its for recovering it when done that wold be great .
looking at seeing if this will work and not interfear with the recording

To move a dry screen protector, apply it using two 'handles' made of tape. Lift it and move it to your heart's content. Or use the hinge method.
I'm not saying the protector you got is any good, we might never know. But your review is kind of pointless. It's like painting a car with a paint roller because you're used to painting ceilings, then saying the paint sucks because your car looks like **** now.

'You're doing it wrong' isn't very harsh. OP doesn't help the situation when he says 'I know I'm doing it wrong, that's why this thing sucks.' Definitely the wrong foot all around.
