So...
I smashed the screen on my Nexus by throwing it. Its a long story
Now when I take out the battery, turn it on, it seems to boot. it vibrates when the power button is pressed, and i hear the boot sound once its finished booting. i need to recover many important files. screen shows nothing and is not touch responsive. volume keys work, and the screen on and off sound also works which is leading me to believe that the internals are ok.
when i connected it via USB, i cant seem to access the SD card. under device manager it shows it connected drive H:/, but nothing comes up in My Computer. USB debugging mode was not enabled.
what can i do to recover this data?
Is it rooted? clockworkmod installed?
pics or it didn't happen.
Hi guys =D

I downloaded Pc Companion, I connected my phone via USB. When it says to unplug my phone, turn it off and then plug it again while pressing volume down key, nothing happens. It flashes 2 times in two different colors. One is red and the other one is green.
Can you help me?

Thank you for replying. I guess I was very clear.
Before it asks me to unplug it, my phone switches itself off. So when I connect it and hold volume down key, two lights flash (a green and a red one) and nothing happens. =/
Greetings!
I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy SCH-S968C(GP), and Installed CWM Recovery. I flashed cyanogenmod to my phone. It had issues so i decided to try another rom. I was attempting to flash GlamourS5 to my phone. I went through the process. When it finished, the phone shut down. It didn't restart like the installer said it would. So i pressed the power button- no avail. It is now thoroughly hard bricked. It does nothing when power button is pressed. When connected to Windows 8.1 via a Samsung Micro-USB cord, The status indicator light turns red, and windows indicates (beeps) that a new device is connected. Windows does not offer auto play options, nor does the device appear in the Devices and Drives directory. When I long press the power button, the status indicator light on the phone turns off, and windows indicates (beeps) that a device has disconnected. However, the phone does nothing else.
My question to you is: Have I ruined my phone permanently, or are there ways I can fix it?
My device is D6603, already rooted in kitkat using giefroot, locked bootloader, "Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.15" installed.
I flashed the " D6603_23.1.A.1.28_Customized_NCB" firmware as "[D66XX]{5.0.2} Flashable stock Lollipop pre-rooted collection & XZ dualrecovery" post instruct, after that, the device restart, and I enjoyed lollipop for just a few minutes, after I open the Setting, the device first become no response, then screen is off, led off(even plug into adapter), no response no matter how hard i tried to press the power button, with vol+/- pressed together, no response at all!!
After one night leave it alone, i tried again, no response at all ,however, when i plugged into adapter, the led light became red, then after a while, it began to blink in red.
Please help me, what should i do with this condition?

You should reinstall your firmware using Sony PC companion. Download it and it will give you instructions how to repair your phone. Make sure you have all the necessary drivers installed. this is official and simple method to repair your phone
Secondly , you can alternatively use FLASHTOOL.

my phone is still bricked. when using flashtool in flashmode, connected to the PC, it repeats the following message:
INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
INFO - Device disconnected
Device connected with USB debugging off
For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
INFO - Device disconnected
and the led light is red on, then off, then on ....
if i try to connect it to the power adapter, the led light is red with fast blink. And I try to use another power adapter (iphone's ), the red light is on, continuously for about 20 minutes, then off, at this time ,if i try to reconnect to the power adapter, the led is still off. after try power button or vol+ button, then the led is back again , but with the same status.
is there anything I can do with my z3? I'm desperate...
thanks a lot !!

did you hold the Vol+ button when inserting the microusb? Also, the device must be completely off (power+vol+)

turn off your device.
Hold power+volume up button and then connect your device via a USB. If however, the device disconnects, you should keep holding the power button and do not leave it.
Lastly, upgrade your drivers from flashtool folder!
Good Luck

you mean inserting the microusb connected with power adapter using vol+button? I tried ,but the led light still fast blinking in red.
I thought maybe the fast blinking means the phone cannot charge in.

Do this , Make sure you load all the files in flashtool and it is waiting for the device.
When it is waiting to flash, hold down power+volume key and connect it. Connecting before means, you will have to hold it for a long time
If it doesnot work, your drivers are outdated which as i suggested upgrade from flashtool folder

no;
when NOT connected: press power + vol+. After that you get two vibrations from the device, this means the device is off.
after that, hold ONLY vol+, and connect it to your PC, with Flashtool waiting for the device using flashmode.
the device will never vibrate, no response at all!
I went to customer service yesterday, they said my device is completely no response to any test and need to change the mainboard....how could a basically flash(just flash 5.0.1 with bootloader never unlocked) will result in such a disaster?! I cannot understand!!
I was restoring a TWRP restore, and it said completed and whatever, but now the phone won't boot or vibrate at all. I've tried plugging into computer, holding volume buttons, nothing works! The only thing that happens is the led turns red when is plugged into charger and power button is being held, otherwise it blinks red. How do I fix the bad restore?

Not currently rooted as I see no need (for my usage) on this phone.
Had a similar issue long back with an HTC One X, it first went in to a bootloop one day and then in CWM it showed internal storage as non mountable and finally ended up like yours where it would not turn on. Ended up being a bad NAND I am guessing as they had to replace the motherboard. I think you just had bad luck, just get it replaced.......
However in one last attempt try charging for like a day and try turning it on could even be a bad battery to be honest... though probably you still want to replace it
Option 1:
Plug your phone into your turned on computer with the USB cable and leave it there to charge until the red light comes on (leave for 1-2 hours, more if you feel it necessary), then quickly put it on charge using the wall charger.
Option 2 (not likely to work):
Plug your phone into your wall socket with the USB cable and wall charger and leave it there to charge until the red light comes on (leave for 1-2 hours, more if you feel it necessary), then quickly put it on charge through your turned on computer using the USB cable.
If neither of these work (as dumb as this may sound)turn off your phone and put your phone in the freezer for 15-30 minutes (This is done to discharge the battery, wont break your phone). When you've left it there for your chosen time, try option 1 again. If that doesn't work, turn the phone off again and put it back in the freezer for the same time and try option 2. If they don't work, i'm sorry I don't know how to help you.

Try the procedure from post #8 from the HTC One X forum above:
Now I have exactly the same problem. Where you able to resolve it?
