Hello,
I have a 3.5mm audio cable male to male that I used perfectly with several phones, Galaxy ACE 2; S3 ; Galaxy 3
I just plugged the cable in my phone and set my stereo source to Aux and the music plays correctly, but with my new Nexus 5 it's not the case, I hear nothing , Nada !!
I checked the cable with other phones and it works like a charm !!
Could you please help me?

Have you tried any other listening devices with your headphone jack like earbuds? Could be a hardware defect.

The only thing I could think, other than the volume being all the way down, would be that it's not fully inserted. Are you using a case that might obstruct the plug from going all of the way in?

Nope, all is correctly plugged , and volume on max level
Aux male to male definitely works with my Nexus5... I use it all the time. Try a different cable...

Agreed. I had a cable that worked fine with every phone I tried except my N5. Then, as a long shot, I tried another cable, and it worked.

I try 3 cables (nokia, sony and galaxy s) and nothing, maybe a differente 3.5mm jack??? I also try my SGS head phone and work very strange, but the original one works well. I try the same in other device, with the same result.

I made a tv-out cable myself from a spare headset ;-) but I found out that the video polarity is reversed.
So audio L+R are PLUS, but the video cable is MIN.
This would probably cause the other model cables not to work.
If you'd reverse the wires on the yellow video cable it might work fine (no guarantee, cut cables on your own risk)
I'll try and find my wiring scheme for you, must have it somewhere.

Hi.
I found at home a jack to RCA cable and it works pretty well.
Only one is interestning, video line is RED, but normally in cables like this YELLOW is for video and RED/WHITE is for audio.
Reverse the wire, how?
Thanks

nope didn't work...
the yellow gives stereo audio and the red and white cable do nothing... i have inverted the cables on the red one and tried that but it didn't work. going to invert the white cable today. i will update soon
Before I cut my cable, did it work?
Breakthrough for video output
here is what i found out about video out for i9001 s+ , all you have to do is invert the video wire shelid and which i am talking about nokia cable of n79, i just cut the cable and reverse the wires, which yellow pin sheild to be video and video to be shield, thats it!!!!!! so simple,
Samsung i9001 s+ Pin
Number Pin
Name Description (may be empty)
1 Tip Audio Left
2 Ring1 Audio Right
3 Ring1 Shield (ground)
4 Sleeve Video
Anyone really like my post, dont forget to press the thanks button
Thanks!!!
I destroy 3 cables, but finelly works.
Thanks
I succesfully made this cable according to this instruction:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/713/s8530wave2.jpg/
Its instruction to wave 2 but it also works with galaxy s plus because of the same tv output. And I modified in the same way originall samsung cable (AATCX10CBE), not nokia cable as on this picture
So there is no need to completly cut all free wires, just only the yellow video cable. In audio cables (white and red) you only need to cut silver wires
And if somebody is interested I asked samsung about cable to this phone and they gave me the model of compatible cable ECC1TX1BBECSTD. The only problem is that its impossible to buy this cable anywhere ...
I buy this one:cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180725667671
Works!!!
Thanks
Hi,
so the Samsung ECC1TX1BBEGSTA cable works without modifying it. Is it correct? Even if Samsung does not declare that it is compatible with DS Plus.
So because I have tried the Samsung AATCX10CBECSTD cable and it does not work, probably the ECC1TX1BBEGSTA cable and the AATCX10CBECSTD cable are different?

hi
by doing the mods stated a few posts ago you will have the following pin configuration:
1 - video, 2 - ground, 3 right, 4 - left, by doing so you will have the classic av cable
that you can buy from any store suitable for you regular video camera, so all you have to do is plug the yellow rca connector into the red rca in your tv and the red rca in the yellow rca on your tv.
It works 100%, i've tried it. By doing that you will have ground also on your audio channels and you don't have to cut/modify the cable.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963998&page=10
at common cable pinouts the "c" version is the right one for galaxy S.
best regards
Same same but different

Perfect!! That's exactly what I'm looking for! Thank you!!
That looks really cool, does the Galaxy simply send audio out via the 3.5mm jack using the micro usb port? I didn't know that was possible.
Ordered one myself thanks, just what i was looking for my car.
"The set cable can be used for Samsung Galaxy s2 i9100 i9220 s3 i9300 which can offer audio out and recharge at the same time ,however for i9300 OS 4.1.2 or newer maybe can not use!before bid pls pay attention!"
This is off of an EBay listing. Didn't get one because of that.
Can someone please verify if it works?
TIA

I have one, and it worked great with my SIII, but it doesn't work with the S4. Why does Samsung have to mess with stuff that works?
Hopefully someone will release one for the S4, but I haven't found one yet.
Finally got it today, no go. Is there any way we can redirect audio to export via USB? This would be clutch as hell for a car setup.

Like I said, it worked great with my Galaxy SIII, but for some reason it didn't work with the S4. It drove me crazy, as my setup was so clean before.
Anyway, I ordered the adapter from Grom Audio. (Look it up). It was around $100, and was somewhat of a pain to install and setup, but I have it working now and it works great. My old setup had some hiss/background noise occasionally, but this one does not. The sound is excellent. I have it hardwired to the back of my stock stereo, so there are no visible wires. I simply plug the USB into my phone on its dock, and it charges and plays music/pandora/navigation etc. through the car speakers.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I have a USASpec unit already...I was using a FIPO adapter on the ipod end but it was kinda wonky as far as having a stable bluetooth connection. The GROM is also a PIA to install as I would have to disassemble my dash just to plug it in. (The USASpec plugs in via the SAT adapter in my trunk, G35).
I have a feeling this is just a software issue, or at least a resistor issue...I'm not versed in android programming enough to figure it out so hopefully someone that is can figure it out for us.

I'm guessing it's a change in the pin layout in the adaptor. Anyway, now that I have the GROM AUDIO unit, I'm glad that I made the switch. I had to pull apart my dash to do the install, but it was worth it. The sound is much better now, absolutely no background noise or hiss.
Hi. I purchased a Star Note i9220 n9000 a few months ago and I wanted to plug in new headphones. The headphones that came with the phone fit the jack perfectly and I can hear out of it just fine but when I plug in different headphones, the plug is too short and the jack is too long. Does anyone know where I can purchase an adapter or headphones with a longer 3.5mm plug? I also posted a picture to compare. Notice how the one on the right is a little longer and has 3 ridges instead of two.

No that is not the picture of the earphones, but if it's made by the same company then they should use the same jack and headphones. I bought my phone off Amazon, just look up Star Note n9000. Normal 3.5mm headphones have plugs that are too short, the headphones that came with the phone are still 3.5mm but they are a bit longer. So I need help finding an adapter or headphones that have the special longer plug. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Update: I changed my mind, i'm not giving up on trying to find compatible headphones for my phone.
normally 3.5 is 3.5, but from the way it looks these are more like 3.6 or 3.7 so it looks like they have their own headphone type or something

I'm pretty sure that the 3.5mm is the diameter instead of the length. So both of the headphone plugs in the picture are 3.5mm. It's just that the one on the right's length is a little longer than the other one. I really need help trying to find an adapter for this or finding some other headphones with the longer plug. I also figured out what the three rings/ridges on the other plug meant. The third ring is for the microphone. So I tried to find earbuds with a microphone, although i am not sure if all earbuds with microphones have a plug that's longer than standard earbuds.

Not really needed.
The short one: 3.5mm 2 (or 3) conductor stereo jack (TRS - Tip ring sleeve)
The long one: 3.5mm 4 conductor stereo + mic jack (TRRS - Tip ring ring sleeve)
So, all in all, just look on the net for TRRS to TRS adapter. Should run you 10$ at most. They're a bit rare but hey you'll be able to use any headphones with any stereo jack.

Does anyone know why my OPO headphone jack doesn't work with headphones / 3.5mm audio connector with only 3 pole (left / right / ground)? It detects headphone is plugged in, but no sound is coming out. If I plug in 4 pole those with mic then it works. I remember my phone did work with 3 pole ones, but today it just doesn't work. I got 2 OPO one is 16G and another is 64G, and both doesn't work with 3 pole, which is weird. My MI3 works with 3 pole one and works flawlessly. Because I need to connect my phone to external speaker so I need it to work. Running on latest / perhaps last build of Cyanogenmod 13. Not Lineage OS.

Hi! Whenever I listen to music, the audio kinda pops randomly for like 1/4th of a second when using type c earphones (AKG). Is this normal? I used the official dongle too and have the same problems with my other earphones.
One last thing, the included earphones is a bit loose on the port. A few hard wiggles and the audio disconnects.

Lol mate what's fast charge or power port got to do with audio channels ? And how are you wiggling the cable ? As mine there's no wiggle ? Sure i can make it wiggle, but i would need to apply lot of force, witch is just asking for trouble!
