It's not the .IMG you have to flash, it's the .TAR, or .TAR.MD5 wich contains the .IMG file.

Try this and follow the instructions in the youtube video somewhere there in the post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2682722

And regarding flashify, it works but on first open of the app, it says recovery partition not found. Here's the solution: Open the app then reboot into recovery, then reboot back into system and go back to flashify and it should detect your recovery version (in your case, stock recovery).
Press the thanks button if this helped you ?☺

Try flashing this with Odin, you'll have CWM without pushing the custom recovery file to /bin

Thank you! I'll have to wait to get to a computer

I had the same problem getting this to work. I tried a lot of times before I finally got it to work.
The only thing I did differently to finally get this to work was to download the files to my computer first and then transfer them to my phone. When I downloaded directly to the phone the file had a .bin extension added to it. Just deleting the .bin extension didn't work for me.

Thanks a ton.
you need the recovery file in system/bin AND the update.zip on your sd card root for cwm to work

I'm in big trouble again
I rooted my phone with PDA_BCK_CWM_universal_beta15.tar first and installed busybox there after I got into a problem. My phone keeps on restarting when superuser starts, Then i tried with this one PDA_BCK_CF-root_universal_beta15. this one too showed the same sign. finally I tried to restore my phone with the stock firmware I9003DDLF2_I9003ODDLF2_INU. It starts to reboot even without entering into the home screen...
Again doing with PDA_BCK_CWM_universal_beta15.tar helped me getting into the home screen..
Now i need help at least to restore my phone in the it was before rooting..I need a stable PDA ... Please help..

I resolved it. Just by flashing it with the stock ROM, It didn't get its success. But after flashing with the Kernel CWM. It came back alive.
The main problem is caused due to the installation of busy box. This thing makes my phone to reboot in a loop.
Before install busybox you have to know which is the correct location to install it ( sistem bin,xbin...) . depends of the rom and kernel you have.

[Q] trying to root need help!!!

Hey guys. Im trying to root this thing and i have followed these steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439 and I used odin to flash the VRALEC Bootchain and then the TWRP recovery. odin said everything went fine. now when I try to boot into recovery it goes to the generic recovery mode. its not the TWRP recovery. from here i cannot flash the SUPERSU + unlocked bootloader. everytime i try i get a signature verification failure. can i try to flash TWRP or CWM? will it mess anything up since ive already flashed TWRP once? What should I do? Thank you
If u r rooted I suggest downloading GooManager from the play store. Open the app click the menu button and choose install openrecoveryscript. This Will install TWRP automatically. After that choose reboot recovery in GooManager. Remember you must be rooted and GooManager must have root.

Also if you aren't on VRBMF1 just go to the stickies and grab the flashable zip.

Sadly I am on VRBMF1 I've really only flashed the VRALEC Bootchain so i dont think I am rooted yet. I think flashing the SUPERSU is what actually roots. I just checked with a root checker ap and I'm not rooted yet.

but the problem is, I cant flash it. everytime I try I get a "Signature Verification Failed" I think TWRP didn't flash correctly. So I'm wondering if its safe to just try to use odin to try to flash CWM recovery over the TWRP

Okay so the weirdest thing. After I flashed CWM over TWRP I booted into recovery and TWRP started. I flashed the SUPERSU but it didn't ask me to disable recovery flash. Everything seems to be running alright. I have root access now but will not disabling recovery flash turn out to bite me when I try to flash a rom?
What is recovery flash? Is that a CWM thing? If you are using TWRP then TWRP doesn't have that option. You will be fine. Also can u hit the "thanks" button so I know I helped you

odin uses .tar files not zip files, Try unzipping the .zip you got, be sure its for your device only.

What recovery are you using? This is usually fixed by installing the latest recovery. I recommend TWRP 2.7.0.1
DO NOT flash any custom roms via ODIN. Odin is only for stock roms.
So, flash the latest TWRP for your phone via Odin and try to reflash the custom rom from TWRP.
And don't worry, as long as you can boot in recovery or at least download mode, you're fine
Edit: I searched a bit for a newer recovery for your model and all I could find was this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/kernel-blazing-kernel-v16-t2275275
Try following the instructions from there to get a newer recovery
i m using CWM recovery v.5
from where i can download latest version of CWM recovery..
i tried it...
but unzipping doesn't convert the zip files into rar files instead it shows two folders..

V5 is too old to work with the latest roms. Use the information from this link to flash a newer recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/kernel-blazing-kernel-v16-t2275275
