external battery showdown - Xperia Z1 Compact Accessories

so i got an anker 6000mah external battery and a romoss 16000mah battery from tmart for review recently and ive decided to do a little bit of a showdown here
A quick rundown of the differences here
Romoss Sense 6--------Anker 6000mah
445g--------------------------136g
16000mah------------------6000mah
35.96mah/g----------------44.12mah/g
I've only had the romoss for a day, and so far the battery indicator hasnt gone down yet having charged both of my z1 compacts.
The same could be said about Anker's Astro 2, i could only get about 1.8 charges(which is 4140mah out of the total 6000mah capacity)
in terms of size, i would recommend the astro 2 over the sense 6, for the sakes of having a smaller battery, the romoss is a lot heavier and not worth it unless you are a tablet user(with a big tablet, 9 inches and up), the 309g really really makes a difference.
features wise the romoss wins out, having 2 ports that charges at 2.4A and 1A respectively, versus the since 2A on anker's astro 2, both batteries can be used to charge the other! The romoss requires the press of a button to charge
Build quality wise both batteries are made of plastic, only romoss has a bit of plastic sheddings on the outside, stuff you can just blow away, id say both are pretty solid considering the romoss survived DHL's horrific treatment as can be seen in the pictures.
they are both currently priced at $30 at various websites

i was just sent this
product link: http://www.tmart.com/ROMOSS-PH80-16000mAh-3-7V-Portable-USB-Mobile-Power-Charger-White_p251832.html
Coupon code is:ROMOSSS6
promote price is: US$29.99

Thx, but the problem that I see with all the external batteries, there is a big lack of longterm reviews.
All this power is worthless if the batteries die after 20 cycles.
Can you recommend a fastcharging longlasting one?

Well I'm using a cheap Primark 2000mAh external battery (UK 6£) and it's still usable after 6-7 months. I believe it's really 1500-1600mAh by now though. But for me the point is to be able to charge from say 15% to 40% when in your car for example so as not to let the phone die completely.

USB External Battery

I am planing to buy an external battery. I will be happy to obtain one full charge for my Nexus 4. In fact, I only get without charge by the end of the day, when going back home, but since I have 1h by metro, it would be nice to be able to use my phone there. But since I am buying, I would like to have as much as I can (and 1 full charge seems reasonable to me).
I am looking these two:
First:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-BATTERI..._Batteries&hash=item20ce1e7c77#ht_3806wt_1346
Pros: it is only 8,69 €
Con: It is 2600 mAh (barely over the Nexus 4 battery, so I am not sure whether it will fully charge my phone or not)
Second:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-BATTERI..._Batteries&hash=item564ff32d35#ht_4794wt_1346
Pros: it is 5000 mAh, so it should do the job
Con: costs the double 17 € (not expensive though).
(there are other colours, I just liked the greens ones)
So, any suggestions? Have you seen other usb batteries with similar prices/charges?
I couldn't find a thread detailing the most convenient portable usb battery chargers, so we could start it here (or please, post the link to the respective thread)
Have you check DX.COM? They also have a lot to choose from with different charges. If you don't mind the wait, might be another option. I bought my MOMAX Portable 5600mAh Li-ion External Battery w/ LED Flashlight from them(cost is US $41.20) Not sure about the shipping to Europe, but to Canada is free)
Thanks! The shipment is free to France also, and they have similar products to those I saw in ebay (which comes from Hong Kong, so it won't be any faster).
I think I will go for this one Multi-Functional Portable External 5200mAh Battery for iPhone 4 / 4S / Samsung - Black, which is only 11,22 € and one good review.

I don't think you will go wrong with that. Even if it's just 4400mAh or so, it is still 4x the charges of N4. I just received my N4 yesterday, so couldn't tell you how many time it will charge with Momax. The reason I go for that specific one is due to they use Samsung battery(You can see their box have a sticker saying "Cell made by Samsung')
Thanks again. I just order it (11,59 € with free shipment to France)
I've just got delivery of a 12000 mAh portable charger. Will update on it's effectiveness when I've had a chance to test with my N7 & N4.

glad i found this thread... had been debating of paying too much for a mophie but i think ill be finding something on dx.com
i just bought an Anker astro3 for £25.99 from amazon uk.
10,000mAh @ 3Amps total output from 2 ports.
it's about 10% bigger and heavier than the N4
i also have the Tecknet 7000mAh / 2.1A equivalent which is about 20% smaller/ lighter than the anker
and a just mobile pp08 4400mAh /1a which is about 1/2 the size/ weight of the Tecknet

not much to say really. they all do what they say on the label. i find myself using the "just mobile" one the most on account of its small size and get ~1.9 charges out of it; and the others proportionately more according to their rating.
the 2A+ current rating (and dual outputs) on the bigger packs i find useful for charging tablets, cameras etc. simutaneously.
great products, you can't go wrong with any of them really. hope this helps.
I got this one for Christmas: http://amzn.com/B005K7192G
So far, I really love it! I can charge my Nexus 7 and my Nexus 4 with it and still have son juice left over. The flashlight feature is kinda handy (it never hurts to have an extra flashlight!) And I like knowing how much power is left. The versatility of being able to charge any USB device is cool too. It charges pretty fast too. I can plug it into my phone, stream internet radio and listen to it through my bluetooth headphones and it still charges the battery on the phone! Overall, its just super handy to have (I didn't have any kinda backup power supply before).
Good luck,
Billy

Anker, Zerolemon and RAVPower® 3rd Gen are the best choices, can't go wrong with either of them, just find which one fits your taste and your pocket money.
Also Xiaomi's power pack has good reviews and is very neatly prized
I have put together a few of my own.
You can purchase (for very cheap) an 18650 lithium ion cell enclosure, your choice of how many cells, how many USB ports, what amperage support, and what lithium cells you'd like to use and boom.
Especially if you have a few laptop batteries hanging around that still have a lot of cycles left, they are full of 18650 lithium ion cells.
EasyAcc® 12000mAh Power Bank 4 USB 3.5A Output Portable Charger High Capacity External
Cheap, large capacity, has 4 outputs, multiple amperages (all labeled clearly).

I just got this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LXL6L9E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it works great
I am using this really cheap Chinese 6000mah power bank.. It gives me two full charge, brand powertron.
I have these two. Always carry the smaller one in my backpack.
RAVPower Luster 6000mAh External Battery Pac
RAVPower® 3rd Gen Deluxe 15000mAh External Battery

GALAXY NOTE 4 BATTERY: Too good to pass up??

There aren't any reviews yet so i'm unsure of the quality and legitimacy of the product. What do you guys think?
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PJEQ290?psc=1
EDIT: If you look at the (color) section of the amazon page it shows different options. You can buy a single battery for $11.00 USD
or 3 batteries and a charger for $35.00 USD!
I've found a review about the batteries, although these are for the LG G3, I'm guessing they are similar.
http://www.extendedbatteryreview.co...y-combo-with-portable-usb-travel-wall-charger
It has a lifespan of 1 month.
You really should never ever cheap out on a battery. There are tons of garbage quality batteries out there that are totally useless. Buy an original battery or an extended one from a recognized brand. Also the very cheap batteries have a much higher likelihood of running very hot, leaking, or even catching fire in some cases.
I bought some 'cheap' batteries just for the charger. I got caught with a dead battery on my Vivid and had to wait for "the slow boat from China". (ran battery down due to ROM testing and couldn't recharge by phone}
Now this was some years ago and I don't remember company (overseas) or cost.
My SO got a Vivid & will not update and she uses the white batteries as often as the stock black one (she often forgets to plug in.) One stock battery dead.
So your mileage may very. I would not count on only 'after market from across the pond' as my only anything.

Pocketable power bank charging at 3A?

I've looked around with no luck. Considering that most of the "lipstick" ones must have a regular 18650 battery inside, the 3A output is *amply* inside the range of good batteries output (several manufacturers offer 18650 batteries capable of constant 10A output with 3.500mAh capacity, I hope that there are products like this.
Thank for the help.

There aren't many. Your best bet is the one that tronsmart makes. It's available from Amazon for 30 bucks.
I ended up going with the ravpower 20,100mah USB c bank, it sorta fits in my pocket.

I suppose you are referring to this: http://www.tronsmart.com/products/tronsmart-presto-10400
While interesting is different from what I'm seeking. 6p has got a 3.500mAh battery, I would be good with a power bank worth one full charge. I come from a Note 3 and I always went out with a spare battery in my bag. Weight was less than 100g and size... well it's a Note 3 battery, I think the idea is clear. Now the "lipstick" shaped power banks are the right size and given their capacity it's obvious they have a 18650 inside... but I can't find any supporting USB C fast charging (5V/3A).
This seems interesting, too bad it's not buyable anywhere at the moment (not that I can find, I'm in Europe).
^That looks cool...

Yep that's the one. My guess is you'll end up having to make a compromise. That is about the smallest I could find.

Yes it does. To be honest I'm surprised at the dearth of products on offer that support USB-C fast charging. It's been adopted on enough phones that I was expecting something more in the sub 10,000mAh range. Bringing a 10,000mAh with you is beyond the scope of even heavy phone use on a daily basis. Whereas I can see myself needing to top up at most one full charge during a day. For that, considering the loss due to efficiency, a 4,000mAh power bank would be enough for Nexus and other phones.
Let's hope that this LeEco power bank comes to US/Europe soon (or at least to websites such as GearBest and GeekBuying).

I can recommend the ORICO 10000mAh usb-c battery pack.
It's not 3A, but 2.4A, however it still charges my Nexus 6P in about 1h 30m.
The good thing is that it supports charging two devices at the same time (one over the usb-c, and one over the standard usb port).
It also looks great, it's worth checking out.
I think there's a review of it here on xda.

So absolutely not what the OP was asking about then?
To the question actually asked, unless you can fit this beast in one of your pockets, I'm pretty sure there's nothing out there that will meet your needs..
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerC...8&qid=1481511899&sr=8-4&keywords=anker+type+c
after having this phone for about a year, the battery health has gone down so that it is almost always dead by 7-8pm now.. and carrying around a battery has become absolutely necessary in case I go out for dinner or drinks w/ friends after work...
when I have my bag w/ me.. the Orico is fine but when I'm going out w/ just a jacket.. I would like a smaller lipstick sized solution too..
Its frustrating that even after a year (and now w/ launches of the Pixels), its still so hard to find USB-C accessories :-/

Ever seen this one? It's size is manageable, it's a GMYLE 10000mAh and has a micro USB in, just in case you don't have a type C cable around
Thanks, but I really would like something that took the 18650 battery form factor and built a charger around it. I know their capacity, I know they are more than enough for whatever need I might have. Once I have a full charge with me I'm set. Unfortunately I'm not finding it... I might even accept to forfeit the USB C fast charging capacity if there was one...
I use this one and I love it. Also has a nice extra usb port so you can charge your 6P alongside another device, or charge a device while the battery pack charges. I get probably 3 full charges out of it.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A6HKP7E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Single 18650 requires voltage step up and won't fill the battery, biggest 18650 I've seen is 3400 mah. That is about the size of 6p battery but its not a 100% efficient process. You lose some from the step up to 5 volts and lose some to heat and some to resistance of connectors and cable.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262640284381 ?
I use and love the aukey one. I think is around 15000mah. It's nice and slim. And it charges faster than my 3a car charger from aukey lol

Check out this one here. Although the Ebay website's description is incomplete, other websites clearly indicate the Aukey PB-Y5 is capable of 5V-3A output. Looks like the ticket for one full charge. Unfortunately they are not shipped from the US yet so I will wait. Credit goes to MrTemz.

This one works rather well for me. The US link to the same company mentioned above.

Oh man, THANK YOU. Even better ('cause it saves me a little money), I found the AUKEY PB-Y8 which is only for USB Type C. In Europe, Amazon carries it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Cell-Pho...-Input-Output-Cable-Devices-Nexus/B01M0UEMYV/ (not only for UK). Thank you so much!

Any suggestions from personal experience on which is the best battery replacement

I just replaced my original battery with a Max Baer high capacity battery at 3600mAh and it's just as bad as my old original battery. It's draining just as fast. I need to purchase another battery so anyone with experience with purchasing any batteries. If you can give me some advice on which one you bought and how well it did would be great cuz I would hate to buy another one after I buy this one, so any advice would be grateful. And theven MaxBeat high capacity battery was even rated higher than at 3600mAh and the original battery was 3200mAh or close to that number. so I would have thought that this max Baer battery would have done pretty good but it's as a right now not holding up to my standards I have to charge it like twice a day. Once again any suggestions would be greatly appreciate it thank you
Never heard of MaxBaer/MaxBeat or whatever it is - is it the same physical size as the original battery? If so, there is no way it can be 3600mAh. I wouldn't touch anything other than RavPower - as far as I'm aware there are no genuine Samsung ones left and Anker has stopped making them. RavPower: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072N5G4RB
I'm a ZeroLemon fan. Granted it makes the phone larger and people always comment on how large my phone is, though I have used phones as large as Red Bricks for work (Intermec) so it's small by comparison. I don't use the belt clip with it since I have cargo pockets.
Based on my personal experience, Stalion® Strength Note 4 Replacement Battery gives a great performance compared to the original for a normal (not extended battery) and sells at a very good price too. Also 4500mah Golden Battery though its performance is the same as a 3220mah Stalion but comes at a cheaper price.
I have got them from eBay.
I have tried Maxbear and powerbear, neither of which are any good in my experience. I also have two from anker and those were good but they're old now. I just this week bought an extended shenMZ 7500 mAh battery but that is not even lasting an entire day so I think it may have been sitting for a while. I think part of the problem may be that some of these batteries have been sitting in a warehouse for a long time unused. Somebody in this thread said that the RavPower batteries are still good. I also hear from another thread that the TQTHL extended 11800mah batteries are good as well. Has anybody bought a battery in the past few months that doesn't suck?
