Hi Everyone!
I'd like to buy the Polar's H7 sensor to pair it with my z1 compact and to use it with the runtastic pro app. Though I'm not 100% sure if it's compatible.
In the official Polar's web page it says that it's compatible with the z1 (so I guess also with the Z1 Compact, but i'm suspicious about the fact that the Polar Beat app is not compatible with my device).
Did anyone already try it?
Cheers!

Should work without any issues. My Z1c is still in transit but I am using Polar H6 with a 2 year old Samsung GS3 with 4.3 and it works great. I can confirm 100% towards the end of the week when Z1c arrives but I don't see any reasons why it wouldn't work. By the way, you can save a few € by buying H6 instead on H7. The only difference is compatibility with legacy Polar equipment and some gym machines.
Thanks

Z1c is here. Connected my Polar H6 with Endomondo and it works like a champ. By the way, Polar Beat wouldn't install for me either now (version incompatibility) though it installed just fine before on the SGS3.
Hello Claudio.
I've bought the H7 2 Month ago and at first i've got a few problems with connecting
the device. But actual I had no more problems with the firmware version .440 and .757 (KitKat).
The H7 works fine with Endomondo Pro and Runtastic Pro.
I hope I could help you.
Regards, Chris

I'am using the Polar H7 sensor in combination with the Polar Beat app and Endomondo for several month now.
Since the update of Polar Beat to 1.1.1 the Z1C is officially supported.
I still have trouble pairing the sensor with the phone. Most of the time if have to switch off/on bluetooth and or turn off/on the app.
Most of the time the heart rate pops up all of a sudden, but every now and then pairing fails totally.
Are people experience similar issues?
My phone runs 4.4.2

Hello people,
I am planing to get myself a smartwatch
since I use Xperia Zu , the Sony SMW2 seems interesting ,
but is it right time to get it now since pebble steel is out and there might be a Sony SMW 3 ( maybe)
shall I wait or is the watch itself good enough to buy or are there must needed improvments , expected to be there in the next gen ?
Thank you

Sw2 is pretty good as it is but there are still some issues that needs to be resolved. Hopefully a firmware upgrade will solve some of them. Soon I hope.
But if you are into customization, than you should look into other options as this watch really does not allow third party watchfaces that can replace the native ones. Yes there are some alternative watchfaces but they are merely apps that can not run without a connection to the phone, and you loose full page notifications. Battery life is also affected by these apps.
There are some really nice smartwatches coming so I suggest you wait a bit longer. But if you get the SW2 and don't care much about the customization then you should be happy. SW2 can do pretty much everything pebble can and more except the watchfaces. But I heard pebble has some issues/limitations too such as the ability to install only 8 apps at once including the watchfaces.I maybe wrong on this one but check the review on pebble steel at http://www.smartwatchfans.com

I usually have a watch on my wrist , so I am not into fancy watchfaces at all. I am not willing to go for the pebble steel because , 1-It is pebble ,
2- Its expensive and
3- the availability in my local market .
and there many other reasons , colour screen , screen size , touchscreen and you name it .
Please mention any other flaws in Sony SMW2 .
I would like to add that with the android 4.3 update for the xperia devices , sony added the downloadable themes feature to the devices , so people waiting for the changeable watchfaces (ones which make sense and are practical) should keep their fingers crossed

I dont think we see smw3 before autumn, maybe not even on this year. It is very difficult to say, but Sony isnt Samsung and makes new toys on every month...
Is it ready for you depends on lot of what you like to have and do with the watch. Simple notification? Then yes. Playing games? No.
It is almost working like a charm, some bugs like apps dont always open immediately - you may need to tap the app couple times. There is an issue with a4.3. I have a4.1.2 so everything is working good - except that I need to couple times tap the app before it opens (calender app).
It is always the same thing - to buy or to wait. There will always better choices if you wait, but how long are you willing to wait? 3weeks, 3 months, 6 montsh, a year...? If you want it now, I think sw2 is the best - working fine, looks classy and stylish, can be weared with a suit or with a college pants or whatever...

Agree with what has already been posted. I bought my SW2 for $199 and lucked out to see Best Buy had a one day sale for $160. At $199 it was a decent deal, and at $160 it is a good deal. I was looking at the plain Pebble at about the same price. The Pebble has a few advantages: more and better developer community, more customization of watch faces and apps available, a bit longer battery life. I chose the Sony due to better build (metal vs plastic), better looking, and touch screen.
I use the SW2 to notify and read texts, email, sports scores and news, answer calls, catch tweets, and Facebook updates. I also use it to control music, view pictures on my gallery, access news feeds via RSS, and Yelp. I have tried the GPS extension and while it works I prefer to wait until an extension that does turn by turn arises. Other than email I am pretty happy with how the SW2 works going all of the above.
Downsides of the Sony? Wish email notifications were handled better. I have 4.3 and the stock extension doesn't work (not a Sony phone) and the stock Gmail extension does not work with 4.3 on my phone. Sony says they are working on it, in the interim I have my email read by Gmail on my phone, which is then read by K9 on my phone, and then the K9 extension on my watch reads the email. With all the hops it delays seeing the emails and it doesnt seem to catch all the emails. So I also use Watch it to notify on email and Watchify notify on Gmail. Better to get a few duplicate notifications than miss an important one.
To be honest, if HOT watch was out I probably would have purchased that one. More of a "smart" watch. And truthfully I am getting swayed by the Galaxy Gear. If it was closer in price and if my phone was running 4.3 at the time I purchased the SW2 I may have looked more at the Gear. Again, more "smart" things you can do. Plus, it is really cool what you can do with watch faces. Maybe down the road when the price and size comes down.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the detailed info.
What can the Sony Smartwatch 2 do as a stone-alone watch (when its not connected to a device)? if you can list then please.
Time?
Alarms?
...?
Thx.
Built-in app: time, alarm, calculator, torch (just max brightness), timer, stopwatch.
Also there's that snake game.
Jus making this thread as it may help other people who had the same question as me.
I ccouldn't get a definitive answer so I took a gamble and bought the H7 anyway and I'm delighted to inform that the two work together well! My phone is flashed to Project Lungo 4.4.2 (you need over 4.3 to be able to run Polar Beat)
The only issue I had was having to remove and reinsert battery before it would pair but from then you can chose an option in Polar Beat to make the device visible.
Looking forward to getting some exercises tracked!
Oh and to anyone wondering the difference between the H6 and H7 - the H6 is Bluetooth only. H7 pairs with Polar watches too!
Hello, So I'm currently wanna buy a smartwatch, I'm think about buying the Samsung Gear Fit 2, but I heard the the Gear fit 2 is REALLY picky and won't compatible/connect with MXP, is it true? If it is then I'm open to suggestions from you guys, which smartwatch/smartband I should buy?
Thank you.

The moto 360 works well, expected I guess since it's motorola. If I was gonna buy a new smart watch I'd buy the Polar m600. Full GPS capabilities for running and I could use it with my gym app (progression). Though honestly, that's the only place I wear my moto 360. Not sure about the Samsung gear, hopefully someone else has tried it.

Looks like a neat watch, just be aware that it probably works over bluetooth, but it's not an Android wear watch, if that matters to you. I'll check some youtube reviews.

yeah well it's the best smartwatch that I can buy and it can actually do what I asked for , i'm not picky, lol
I myself have a pebble time round, really happy with it. Problem is that it's hard to get one since Fitbit bought the company 2 weeks ago and stopped production.
Hi, I use Asus Zenwatch2 and works well with MXP. Except for lack of GPS, my watch runs all I need: calls, SMS, WhatsApp, Maps, fitness, weather, sleep tracker, Google Play and so on!
I really like this Zenwatch2(WI501Q) with latest Android wear version.
This is possibly a dumb question, but do all of these smart watches connect via BT? I'd like one but BT really kills my battery to the point where I need to charge before the end of the day.
Cheers

Yes they connect via BT and unfortunately mxp only has a 4.0 BT.
4.1 and later versions have better power management. perhaps you could use apps like automate/tasker/macrodroid to only enable BT when you need and switch it off automatically when you don't.
I recently got an IQI I3 smartwatch only to discover that the companion app (Sinwear) doesn't work on Nougat. So it's back to the drawing board for an inexpensive smartwatch that will work with the Pixel. I'm curious if anyone has any experience with the smartwatches that use the Fundo app such as the GT08, No 1. G5 and similar watches? I'm mostly looking for confirmation that the Fundo app works properly with Nougat and that notifications get sent to the watch properly.
I'm not familiar with Fundo, but have you looked into Pebble watches? It might not be the perfect solution because they just got bought by Fitbit and won't be updating any more, but the stuff that doesn't require Pebble servers should continue to work.
Not sure I'm interested in a dead product, thanks though. The idea for me here is a super inexpensive and supported option that allows custom watch faces and notifications from my phone.
For anyone wondering, I've now used Fundo with Nougat and it works. It's a bit buggy at times but overall for what I paid for a No.1 G5, I've got a decent watch that if it gets trashed while I'm working won't upset me too much.
HELLO EVERYONE,
I upgraded to Note 9 from my Note 4 which I still retain as the Note 4 was last Note with IR remote that I sorely missed. The only missing feature on Note 9 which already is a terrific android device with stellar features was the IR remote feature. Problem solved.....
My best found accessory for Samsung Note 9.
I would like to share this accessory from BASEUS that is fully working with the Note 9.
Cost: 8 USD / INR 550
Brand: BASEUS
MODEL : TYPE C
Support: Android.
In Box ; USB type C IR Dongle, Silicon very trippy and firm cover with keychain ring.
WHAT WORKS:
1. USB OTGrecognised by default.
2.App: Zaza Remote (DOWNLOAD IT FROM PLAYSTORE AND WORKS LIKE A CHARM)
3. IR REMOTE sending upto distance of 25 metres.
4. Remote Learning is fully supported.
5. DIY remote fully working.
6. 0 bugs and easy to configure and use.
THERE ARE NO CONS OR BUGS AT ALL.
Please see attached images which clearly shows that Red light on top is lit and this beauty works like a charm for its negligible cost.
Fantastic build quality and perfectly compatible with our Note 9.
WOW, NOTE 9 WITH IR REMOTE...:good:
Please hit thanks button if this post helped and / or you found it useful.
Link that delivers worldwide------------------------------------------------ BUY
Pictures:
I have Verizon FiOS, a Sony Smart TV and a Yamaha Sound Bar and all of them have a dedicated remote app that works over my home WIFI. So I really have no use to it a built-in IR blaster, cute little adapter though.
Nice, where can I purchase one at? Amazon link? Anywhere in the US we can purchase from?
Thanks for confirmation.
Mine hasn't arrived yet. Still in transit with china small packet+.
Glad to hear it's perfect

Hey buddy.
I was thinking the same thing, shame no direct link was posted to go with the good find.
But anyway, I found it just now;

I would double check the zaza remote app. Don't know if it's foshy or not. I prefer my microprocessor remote over phone WiFi apps or IR blaster on phone. Most of the fun to be had to with built in IR on note4 and V20 was playing pranks at friends houses, especially if they just bought new equipment for the home theater/living room setup. On and off, channel changing, input changes and ghost volume changes. Harder not to laugh uncontrollably. ???
3.5mm jack
Good to know that we can have IR remote on Note 9 N960F, but somebody knows if also works Universal 3.5mm jack IR Infrared Remote Control and not only on usb-c?
Really wonderful
Thank you friend for the recommendation. I bought one for my note 9, and it really worked flawlessly.
You're great, man.
@rastigo @saltoosho2015
very good. I loved this note 4 feature.
I currently have a note 10 plus. Does it work on it? I saw some comments that it doesn't work on Android 10, is it true?
Another question, do you know the name of the default app that came in note 4? he was very good too.
thank you
I got one off Amazon last week. Works great but that zaza app is a pain to figure out at the beginning. You can diy learn codes/button from your original remote as well! Why Samsung took out this feature, I don't know... I mean the phone is big enough to fit one in.
I can safely recommend this seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Baseus-Min...Smart-IR-Wireless-Remote-Control/303246570495
I ordered one in March but it didn't arrive on time due to Covid-19 and the seller was really cooperative and sent me another unit and told me when to expect it. Sure enough it arrived within the time they specified and it works great.
