HTC one S with Polar H7 and Polar Beat - HTC One S

Jus making this thread as it may help other people who had the same question as me.
I ccouldn't get a definitive answer so I took a gamble and bought the H7 anyway and I'm delighted to inform that the two work together well! My phone is flashed to Project Lungo 4.4.2 (you need over 4.3 to be able to run Polar Beat)
The only issue I had was having to remove and reinsert battery before it would pair but from then you can chose an option in Polar Beat to make the device visible.
Looking forward to getting some exercises tracked!
Oh and to anyone wondering the difference between the H6 and H7 - the H6 is Bluetooth only. H7 pairs with Polar watches too!

Bluetooth Watches Finally

http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/28/sony-ericsson-and-fossil-team-up-for-bluetooth-watch/
So they are here (almost) ofcourse it says they will only work with Sony Ericsson phones, but before I go out and get inline.....
these should work with our devices HTC's correct???
I have the HBH headset with caller id and that shows the number so these should also right??
why not go the whole hog
**MOD EDIT**
I had to remove this link. When i went to this site it tried to execute a script and install 2 trojans. anyone who may have went to this site may want to scan their machine
that's cool but i really don't want my watch as my phone.....
i just like the idea of the alerts so i can keep it in my pocket or in it's case you know when your in a meeting and you have your phone on silent
but it was an important call..... well imagine having your watch vibrate and being able to see who is calling with out hassling with getting the phone out of the pocket until your out of the conference room
The thing about these watches are, it might take up battery like mad. I have a light-powered (Citizen Eco Drive) watch with me because I hate having to change the watch battery very 3 years (although there are 10 years type). And, being such small in size, I don't think the watch can have bluetooth on for a long period of time before you need to charge it again. Further, as far as I know, Fossil does not have any watch with self-energy-generating technology yet, nor Sony Ericsson. And, probably this watch is not water resist too (like the Fossil PDA watch). You do not want to risk your $$ watch being in the water when you've so got used to washing your hand with your watch on. Another bluetooth watch
Like those Microsoft SPOT watches, it won't catch up if you need to charge it every other day. Will you use a slightly powerful PDA phone if you need to charge it every other day? (consider this is not even near a PDA).
Since we are in the topic, you might want to look at this handsfree watch.
http://www.pdalive.com/showarticle.php?threadid=4907
Which you don't need to worry about the battery.
[UPDATE]: Hmm.. it seems that the phone is able to have 5-7 days of battery life. Not bad. Consider how much your battery power your handphone will eat up once you have your bluetooth on in standby. It IS water resist 3ATM (30m), which in other words, you can wear it while washing hand but not showering (read some reviews on the Tissot T-Touch and you will know what actually 3ATM means ), and ironically, for the compatibility
* Sony Ericsson Bluetooth enabled mobile phones
* Series 60 phones using Symbian OS version 7, 8, and 8.1

heeh
lmao
let me get this right, hehe they have developed a handsfree kit using a watch
& your own hand SO your hands free kit works by holding your own hand to your ear,in the exact same position as if you were holding a phone
hmmm lol
Would be great to see this work with Windows Mobile!
Anyone knows where I can actually get my hands this Citizen i:Virt w700 bluetooth watch ?

I tried googling, but didn't find any store that sold those (which makes the nerd inside cry in despair)...
Thanks !
Anyone with experience with the Fossil MBW-100 Bluetooth Wrist Watch?
I would love to use this watch with my Qtek 9100 Wizard. But it's a little bitt to expensive to just buy and try.
Maybe someone is willing to develop some software for it? If I read the reviews it only shows that a new message is waiting. Would be nice to see the subject and sender of this message also.
Maybe a RSS feeder from Wizard to the Watch?
Any Ideas? At Ebay you can buy the watch for sevaral weeks now!
Regards
Tom from Holland.
Wizard and Mbw-100
Hi
I have a Wizard and a mbw-100 and I can tell you they dont work together.
When I'm trying to pair them it results in an error because the wizard dont recognice the services the mbw-100 offers.
I dont have the skills to solve this my self and I have'nt been able to find a solution on the net either.

Why Why Why
Now, so my search is now over... It still remains a cool watch... But if it doesn't work with Windows Mobile 5 then, well ... I have to forget it..
Thanx for sharing this information!
Regards Tom
it could be possible to make a program to create the Sony-Er BT profile?
What about WM 6.0? I got a HTC Kaiser (Vario3) might it be possible to use the watch? And if not, could it work creating a small app with run the SE BT-Profile?
BT Watches are pretty popular as I get a lot of customers who purchase them.
They have been getting nicer looking too.
Yes, but what about the compatibility of such watches? It would be nice if they run with WM 6.0.

G-graph for car

Hello everybody.
I don't know if a lot of you watch top gear, but I remember the episode where they test the Skyline GTR R34.
For those who saw it you remember that the Skyline has got a G-sensor and you can watch on real time a kinda graph on x and y axis of the G forces to which the car is faced.
Would it be possible to do the same for the HTC Touch Pro? I think it would be cool to have a G graph on the G forces it registers when you are driving, with the maximums attained in both the x and y axis...
P.S.: I'm not pushing you to drive recklesly, but it would be cool for those who would like to test their cars in public circuits like the Old Nürburgring...
Very do-able infact there is already kit out there that can determine your 0-60 by using a G sensor, all it would require for the Raph is the correct software, however it will be of limited accuracy as it has only 1 sensor, and the more accurate products have 3. Having said that Older versions of this product have only 1.
It is called a G-tech performance meter by the way.
sounds neat but what would its purpose actually be? Just fun or do you guys need data like that? Just curious.
Here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422662
Still in a beta version, but Ikari is doing a great job!
woohooo, I wonder how long it will be until we can start watching all the rich boys rolling their cars on youtube seeing who can get the maximum g-force....

[Q] Digital thermometer for android devices?

Hey, first time poster so very sorry if I mess up
I'm currently working on a project to send up a weather balloon to take pics of our planet. It's a more simplified version of Project Icarus by MIT students except with a wind speed detector and hopefully an external thermometer.
I'm hoping to use just a cheap unlocked motorola flipout so naturally it'd be great if the thermometer supported it. As the balloon would be going pretty high up it'll need to support very low temperatures (ideally below -70C).

Z1 Compact with Polar H7 Sensor

Hi Everyone!
I'd like to buy the Polar's H7 sensor to pair it with my z1 compact and to use it with the runtastic pro app. Though I'm not 100% sure if it's compatible.
In the official Polar's web page it says that it's compatible with the z1 (so I guess also with the Z1 Compact, but i'm suspicious about the fact that the Polar Beat app is not compatible with my device).
Did anyone already try it?
Cheers!

Should work without any issues. My Z1c is still in transit but I am using Polar H6 with a 2 year old Samsung GS3 with 4.3 and it works great. I can confirm 100% towards the end of the week when Z1c arrives but I don't see any reasons why it wouldn't work. By the way, you can save a few € by buying H6 instead on H7. The only difference is compatibility with legacy Polar equipment and some gym machines.
Thanks

Z1c is here. Connected my Polar H6 with Endomondo and it works like a champ. By the way, Polar Beat wouldn't install for me either now (version incompatibility) though it installed just fine before on the SGS3.
Hello Claudio.
I've bought the H7 2 Month ago and at first i've got a few problems with connecting
the device. But actual I had no more problems with the firmware version .440 and .757 (KitKat).
The H7 works fine with Endomondo Pro and Runtastic Pro.
I hope I could help you.
Regards, Chris
Sent from my Xperia Tablet Z (SGP321) using XDA Premium HD app.
I'am using the Polar H7 sensor in combination with the Polar Beat app and Endomondo for several month now.
Since the update of Polar Beat to 1.1.1 the Z1C is officially supported.
I still have trouble pairing the sensor with the phone. Most of the time if have to switch off/on bluetooth and or turn off/on the app.
Most of the time the heart rate pops up all of a sudden, but every now and then pairing fails totally.
Are people experience similar issues?
My phone runs 4.4.2

Best Smartwatch?

I'm looking into entering the smartwatch game but I want something fantastic if I'm throwing that much money on something that ultimately tells time. Basically does anyone know of a watch that
-has Android Wear 2.0
-heart rate monitor
-fitness tracking capabilities
-can make phone calls with internal watch speaker
Much appreciated! :good:
Although it currently doesn't have 2.0 (slated for release this month) I am using the Huawei Watch and am pretty satisfied with it. Heart rate monitor, fitness tracking are available, which I seldom use, so I can't comment completely, but I have used the watch for calls. Works, but when it is windy people think I'm driving as there is a "hollow" sound.
My absolute biggest issue is not with the watch, but with the phone itself. For some reason, it always defaults to the watch answering calls, regardless of how I answer. This is an anomaly from my research, as my phone has issues connecting to the Sync system in my car.
If you do sports, go for the Huawei Watch 2.
If you wanted something pretty cheap to get your feet wet, the original Huawei watch has treated me pretty well. It has an internal speaker, heart rate monitor, and has the ability to update to Android Wear 2.0. The fitness tracking is a bit lacking, but the watch itself is pretty solid and I've enjoyed using it over the past year that I've had it.
It is kind of older at this point, but like I said it's going to be a cheap way (relative to buying a new watch) to get into the Android Wear space and see what you like/don't like.
I've had the Huawei Watch and it's very cool with good XDA development! Check it's XDA section for lots of information....
Not Android but I have the gear s3 frontier and love it, Samsung pay is great on it.
Sold my Huawei watch. Now looking for a square high-tech android smartwatch! But hard to find any recent 2017 releases....
I just ordered the Huawei watch, I have a gear S2 but just fancy trying android wear 2.0, if I like it i will sell my gear S2

LG Urbane 2 or Lg Watch Sport.
Can't say anything bad about my Urbane 2. The Sport is a newer version.
Both also are unlocked and have their own LTE Modem.
I have a TruPhone SIM in mine to make calls if I forget my phone at home.
I have the Ticwatch 1. Works very well without android wear. All google notifications come through. For a $100 you can't beat it. I looks just like the huawei watch. I get about 15 hours of battery life ot of it. It has android 5.1.1 installed without play services. Thats the only downfall. Better than my gear fit.
