Hello, I have this question.
I noticed that, with the Titanium Backup free version, I can move almost
every app to SD card, even the apps that Android doesn't allow, for example
Whatsapp.
With some of them, for example Twitter App, I have an additional problem.
When I move the app to SD and I reboot the phone, I notice 2 things:
a) the app's icon is not present anymore in the home screen.
b) I have to login again with e-mail and password, it doesn't store the login.
When the Twitter app is left in internal memory, such problems don't exist.
Is there some way to leave the app in SD card and to solve these problems?
Thanks for advices.

is i helped u press thanks plzzz
Hi my friend, thanks for the answer!
I tried installing your app, but the behaviour is the same,
I think the cause is Android itself or those difficult apps.
Don't mind, I will try in other manner.
I know this is a long shot, but worth a try. I did some digging on Google search and came across no such thing, maybe due to my poor Japanese web searching skills.
I can't seem to find or transfer apps to SD. I transferred my 128gb card from a sim free Z5 Premium to the Xperia XZ DoCoMo version. My files are all present but going into setting and app, I can't see the change storage location option anymore.
Anyone with the Japanese variant who could shed some led?
Thanks.

Goto settings/apps and choose which app you want to move.
Then click on storage and there is an option to change to SD card

I think you overlooked my question. I've gone to setting and then apps and the tab to change storage location wasn't present for apps that can be transferred to SD like on my Z5 Premium.
Here's a screenshot to help with visualization.
I'm no beginner to phone rooting either.

only certain apps can be transferred
Box may not be one of them..

I didnt overlook your question, as has been replied above not all apps can be transferred, if it can be then above the clear cache and data buttons there is an option to change storage.
If you r app cannot be transferred speak to the developer of the app

Here's the thing...no apps have the change storage location option available when you go into setting/app and choose a specific app to transfer to SD.
BOX, Instagram, Facebook Lite, Snapseed, Google Translate, an many more. Both phones run Marshmallow and Xperia Z5 these apps were able to be transferred to SD.
This is why I said you overlooked my question as well as the other person who replied.
Again, I've done all the checks and research. This isn't a noob situation we're dealing with.
Some of mine can some can't. Why some are and some are not i so not know.
No one is calling you a noob, sorry i couldn't help you
A little update. After digging around on Google search by typing Japanese model and various Japanese words, the Xperia XZ Japanese model from Docomo, Softbank, and AU has "Apps 2 SD" blocked. The only way is to root, if there is a possible way OR use ADB and convert the SD card into internal memory to have more storage space.
This is for anyone else wondering why...
Happy Holidays everyone.
D01J storage issue solved
Hi, I was having the same issue with dtab D01J but now it's resolved. What i did was to put in sd card and go to 'memory and storage>storage setting>default storage' . Change it to SD Card. System will reboot. Then system will manage space and shift some apps data to sd card. For games, i moved data file in obb folder from tab storage to sd card. Hope this helps!
I have 701 with standard firmware + root. I want to swap internal memory with external SD card. I wanted to use this software:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pr.swap.sd&hl=en
But it requires XPosed framework. So I looked for it, and below are the instructions for EMUI 3.1, but my device has version 3.0.5:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-workaround-running-xposed-t3338765
Because I have earlier version, I am afraid to install and brick my device.
I also checked the common method by editing config file vold.fstab , but it appears Huawei changed even this part and this file is not even there:
https://ibb.co/dEOhq5
I would like to not update the firmware and EMUI as I am little experienced and am afraid to brick my device. Also, I wonder if that PR Swap app simply wouldn't try to edit the vold.fstab file, which is not there, and fail anyhow ...
Could you please give me an advice how could I do the swap?
So, after working for a while I found out that this phone surprisingly has this built-in feature for swapping the memories:
Settings>Storage>Default location> (Select SD card)
After doing this, the phone restarts and all regular apps "thinks" that SD card is internal memory. However, the system of the phone itself actually "knows" what is what and continues to install the apps to the real internal memory.
I did this experiment: uninstalled facebook, messenger and skype, ran CCleaner. Internal memory had 5.06 GB used.
Then I installed these three apps back, and then internal memory had 5.5 GB used (external 64 GB SD card had the same amount of memory used - so nothing by default went to SD card)
Finally I moved these 3 apps to "SD Card" using app manager, and then internal memory had 5.3 GB used.
A couple notices I made:
1. After changing default location to "SD card", some data (probably) is actually moved to external memory, and now the phone needs more time to start. And I mean noticeably more time, like 4-5 minutes to boot fully. As I don't turn off my phone often so this is not a problem for me. (I noticed no difference in loading time of the apps)
2. I am almost certain that after setting default location to SD card the phone allows to move more apps to external memory. Also, the phone probably moved some system data to the SD card. Now there is a reasonable amount of free space in internal memory, so I am happy
Hi @astuntas , I have a quick question for regarding this feature. Using this setting, does the APK also get stored on the External MicroSD card?
My Internal Storage is so full that I often get the permanent notification that i am critically low even after I moved some apps to SD card in the Android Application settings because it looks like the APK itself still doesn't get moved and stays on the Internal Storage.
I was going to use the app called "Apps2SD Pro" which I bought from the Play Store and re-partition my MicroSD card but if the Android OS can do this natively then I would rather do that instead.
Please let me know, thanks.

For me the emui settings SD card storage is for son data only. But I never verified it.
to get more internal storage make sure you did move all movable apps to your external SD (AppMgrIII from pkaystire will tell you that). It will also let you clean your apps cache, Hicham could get back a lot of free space.
Apps SD pro must be a link2sd like app. They were used a lot on older device, mediapad x2 shouldn't be so dependent to these apps. More over they could Slow some app access, and sometimes make the device reboot.
One thing I know, is that android 6 does not over link2sd feature natively, as far as I know.
Give it a try anyway, it free internal space for sure, in a big amount.
As you are root, I suppose you've deblaoted you device?

Hi Djiban, I have debloated some apps yes but I despite this I just have downloaded a lot of little "lite" apps I find useful which take up a lot of space, especially the APK. These days it seems many apps (APK file size) just take up more space than they should. Just the stupid McDonald's app takes up more than 50MB and they all add up. It would be nice if Android natively was able to store the APK on the external SD card and not just some data files which it currently does now because the APK is what seems to be the majority of the space contents.
BTW, does EMUI B212 have "su.d" support or "init.d" support? I'm sure you or @ajsmsg78 knows this! Thanks guys.

Ha, incentive to switch! How about SU.d then? Some apps like AFWall and Apps2SD require either/or su.d or init.d.
Edit: I use SuperSU in case it makes a difference.

Hi,
I have a problem with my icons, everytime I reboot, or turn off and start again my phone a lot of my icons are amess and they are "shining" like a newly installed app.
The problem happened when I was in B381.
I just update to B389, with factory reset, and the problem still there.
Really annoying.
Am I alone with this bug?
Thanks
A screenshot pls?! Or a photo is better
To understand more, so I can help

Yes, I just made two videos, I had to paste links, I couldn't embed them ( if someone could help me on this too... :silly: ) :
- One with partially reorganised icons (only on the first page) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq-4uJTvlY0
- Second, after the normal restart. At the beginning, just after the restart, some icons are missing, then at 0:27 magically disappeared icons reappear, not where they should be, and blink like newly installed apps :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm8Cppe2h5k
Maybe one hint, I Have a 64go SD card installed as adopted storage, is it possible that missing apps at startup could be the apps installed on the sd card? Because the sd card is "mounted" after the internal memory, or because the sd card is too slow, that could cause the problem.
If it so, How could I know where are really installed my apps, and is there a way to change it?
thanks

That's even better
I will try different test with my sd card, but not so sure it is really the cause, look at this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSkYvI3mefs
I rebooted without mooving any icons this time, and I noticed that the 3rd icon, first line, first page, "calculatrice plus", and the amazon one on second page, also mooved this time, and wasn't after the previous reboot.... they are on screen right after reboot, and don't blink like the other apps that appear a little bite after reboot... really strange...
That's weird, I don't know what to say.
I can't assist you any further

Strange phone .
Ok, some news, a good and a bad one...
I installed appmgr III, so I can see where my apps are really installed. And everyone bugging on reboot , was installed on the SD card... I moved them to internal, and after many reboots and icons rearrangements, I concluded that was the problem. That's the good news.
The bad news is that I, now, have to move all my apps to internal, so there is not really any advantage using my SD card as adopted storage any more...
Do you think a faster, big brand one, should solve the problem?
Mine is supposed to be a adata 64go class 10, do you know an app to really test it, on my phone?

setting up the sd card as adopted, allow system to consider the sd card and internal memory, as a unique big internal memory, so apps can be installed directly by the system anywhere.
I don't think that you need to be rooted for that, but yes I am.
You can still manually move apps between internal and sd with appmngr III (available on the play store), avoiding moving apps with widgets (widgets wont work), or apps that need speedy memory like games that could be slowed. and dont remove the sd card or you will loose everything...
Depending of your system version you could adopt an sd card via menu option, or connecting to a pc, via adb command line, some infos here :
