pls help me..........Today my 4 months old magnus just fell to the ground and its Upper left screen got cracked.
Now the Touch is not working at All but display looks perfectly fine. Power Button is working too and my phone is charging as well.
Friends, pls tell me the expected cost of its touch screen. I have searched it on google, some guys saying its 800Rs-1000Rs and some has quoted around 7000 Rs.

if your display is fine than it must not cost above 400-500 bucks, And if someone asks for more than that probably they are cheating.
if you go to service center they will ask for about 2.5K so get it from local market..

My sCreen Also broke...and it costs about 2000 locally..:cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:
Local shops Compatible ( duplicate ) touch costs Rs.500/- and a more higher quality Og ( original ) costs Rs.700-800
In service center the actual price is Rs.1100-1300/-. But the guys try to quote sky high prices seeing people faces and reading their knowledge about phones.

I think if the screen is broken then it will cost u around 700
And if the display is broken the it will cost u around 6000...
But i m not 100% sure

It depends n your colour of phone.
If it's white one then,
Only Touchscreen cost --
900 local
600 (gafar market delhi)
2150 service center (original)- normally there is no availability
Both touch n display--
2700 local
If it's blue then, u have to change both touch screen n display since it's joined.
cost. -- same as white 2700 local
6300 service centre original
I am telling this detail since 3 of my friends have already replaced their screen 2 white n one blue.
One thing more, if u opt for only touch then take care that the shop keeper will take some responsibility since some times it gives a lots of problem after 2-3 days.
Any idea regarding Mumbai ???

My friend replaced his display in 600bugs (mumbai) mmx a117!
Look my screen got cracked and touch wasnt working but my phone was in same condotion as yours.But when i went to sc they told 6500/- .they said display and touch both come together

ohk i was on Kyrillos 9.6 jpu and was paying with the power button and all of a sudden my screen woke up with blank display
then i restarted it several times ,still no display,changed my firmware to stock ddjp2 still no luck
all other things works perfectly fine the touch screen ,touch keys and i was able to receive calls
by blindly sweeping the display screen.....
soo plz tell me that do i need to replace the lcd screen or the problem is with the main board or some other things....:crying:

I think that you somehow ( by pressing power button as you mentioned) broke the display :/ so the only solution is to change the display by yourself or samsung custom service but i hope that im wrong!

If your screen turns out to be really broken, don't be afraid of switching it yourself.
Just don't make the same mistake I made (twice). Buy the new display from a store that's specialised in mobile spareparts, not from ebay. If the display doesn't look exactly like the one you took out of your phone, send it back. I had a bent and scratched one and one that had lower resolution and no brightness control. Insane, who hopes to make profit from that?

thanks for trying to help turboblaz,but i have already disassembled the handset and inspected it from all sides, there is no bleeding ,crack or scratch of any kind on it and moreover the placement of the power button is such that it wont harm the display even if its pressed with a moderate to hard pressure.

thanks martialaw ,yeah i know hw to dissamble this handset ,actually i hve done it twice before, once for replacing the menu key button and the other time for replacing the audio jack. moreover i know a good shop which sells good mobile spare parts
i had checked it with the service centre , the price of the audio jack there was 650 inr along with the replacement so i bought it from that spare shop ,it costed meh around 150 inr n works perfectly fine even after 6 months. So im guessing that the price of the lcd display at the service centre would be around 1500 inr and at the local market it would be around 500 inr,but i am just worried about its contrast and brightness as u mentioned and moreover what if the display is fine and the problem is with the board or other things.

sounds familiar. I spent 1200 inr on ebay, twice, both crap. Then 2100 inr in a proper shop, which finally looked like the original part on the circuit area. Dunno if those prices can be compared, I converted them from Euros for you. Go for a original part and try to keep the option to give it back if it turns out the error lies within another component. gl&hf
Small portion on upper half of my touch screen doesn't react properly. When I touch in this area, controls just above/below this area gets activated. My phone is 18 months old and doesn't have any damage on the screen. I am not sure .... Is it a hardware problem or software problem. Please help with a solution.
HTC India service center does not takes the device for repair/checkup just because I bought it in Europe.

its most prob ur digitizer. bout 3/4 of an inch on my screen at the top was "dead" so i baught new digitizer from ebay (only cost me £10 ) and changed it myself (its very easy) and now my screen is perfect. just be sure if u buy one that u get the 3M double sided tape with it so u can stick it to the LCD.
To be sure tho u can always try flash another rom but im 99.9% certain its ur digitizer.

FYI: Sometimes whole screen becomes unresponsive and sometimes it clicks apps on its own even when I keep my hands away from the screen. I was looking to buy a digitizer for my device but here in India it costs me about $25/-. I hope I'll get one from HTC India as buying things online in India sucks.

yh same with my digitizer, even tho the top part was dead, it made some other parts act faulty. like on the keyboard i couldnt use the "b" key and now and then randomly click on things. was very annoying. u can get digitizers cheap but id say shipping to india would be quite expensive.

This is my screen one month later after I change the digitizer + lcd (bought form china).
I have restored old rom and no changes so it is hardware foult. I think I need newer phone and I will not buy new digitizer again.

Guys I am in desperate need of help here. My phone got wet and now my screen is showing a few vertical lines. Though they disappear later they really look bad. Also the screen resolution seems to have decreased as the display is not clear enough. Do you think that its a permanent damage and if so what would it cost me to change it?

Thanx for the reply. I don't have any authorised service centre nearby. I was hoping if someone could tell me the price or a possible solution. Also i think, as it fell in water the warranty would not cover the damage.
Hey bro i got the same prob ....u just need to replace either the touch or the display ...it will cost you 2000 in svc and if u want to repair it outside means in local mobile shop it will cost around 950 for each :thumbup:

Rs. 1200 in Hyderabad, Rs.2000 in karimnagar (andhrapradesh).. if you have a well known technition bay from eBay it will cost only Rs.850
check whether the touch is working ..!!! if not the n u would have to change the digitizer..!!! which will cost u 2500/-

I have a nexus 5 which is purchased from US which doesn't cover warranty in my country.Everything was working fine, but for the past few days I find a Part of the display is not working or not recogonising the touch.Every parts thing excpect that area works fine but not that one.I tried Soft reset and hard reset which dosent work.Is it hardware related issue.If yes is it repairable or the entire touch should be replace.And how much it will cost me.Thanks in advance.Attached the image.the Red spot is the non working part.

The whole thing (LCD and Digitizer) will be replaced and LG will charge you anything between Rs.7000-8000...

AFAIK, there isn't. You could ask a local repair shop and see what they have to say about this...

The only thing you can do is send it somewhere in your city for repair.
