S4 mini i9105 > Moto E or Moto G 4G? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Trying to save some money. Would I lose much performance going to the Moto G 4G or Moto E?

No, and you won't have to put up with Samsung bloat any longer.

i would say both of them are better than the s4 mini because of Samsung bloatware, maybe not in games and stuff but you wont be buying a Moto G or a S4 Mini if you are going to play games anyway
Not to mention the Moto G has an HD screen compared to the QHD (960p) of the s4 Mini, if you are into that kind of stuff

You wouldn't lose any performance switching but get the moto g 4g, I have the previous version and its really good, better screen and price,
You would lose out on the dual band wifi, camera, I was thinking about swapping it for my nexus4 for daily use due to the longer battery life.

How does the krait 300 dual core compare to the Moto G cores?

Snapdragon quad core processer is much better then krait dual core, quad core is latest and fastest, moto phones are worth every penny. Moto g, trusted as well as tested, go for it, still best in the market...

Isn't the quad core in the Moto G using slower cores (lower DMIPS) than the Dual Krait cores in the S4 Mini 4G (higher DMIPS)?
Krait has 3.3 DMIPS/MHz, how about the cores in the Moto G?
Looking at some benchmarks it seems the Moto G quad core is about as fast as the S4 Mini Dual Krait Cores.

I've used both s4 mini and the Moto G. The s4 mini is not as snappy as the Moto G and the performance along with the Samsung bloatware of the s4 mini is not up to the mark. Buying a Moto G or a Moto E will save you money and give you better performance and software as well as quick updates.

[Q] About hardware and benchmarks

hi,
There's something that I don't understand about how the mobile CPUs work.
Why is the Galaxy SIII stronger than the HTC ONE X (in benchmarks), although they are both quad-core and ONE X's CPU frequency is even faster by 100MHz?
How can the iPhone 5 be faster than the GALAXY SIII in benchmarks, although it only has a dual core 1.2GHz?
Thanks.
because they use different cpus. Some cpus are better than others. This also explains why Xperia T and V (both dual core) outperformed gs3 (quad core).

[Q] Moto G (Music Edition) vs S4 Mini Dual

Hi all,
Currently I have an Y Duos (S6102GT) and, generally speaking, it serves me well, however some things bother me about it:
- The camera suck
- Internal Storage is too small
- The size of the screen
I play mostly casual games, just for passing the time, he is a limited phone after all, however with more power I think I would play more.
My doubt now is which new phone I should choose, between Moto G Music Edition (Colors already sold up on brazil), or the S4 Mini.
I know S4 mini beats Moto G on almost every aspect of comparison, which could lead it to a better utility velue, howevar it's price is considerably higher.
Moto G on the other hand, has a bigger screen (and screen quality ????), comes with Android closer to the pure version, and in that case still comes with a headphone from Solrepublic
So, which one do you think it's best for me?
PS: I'm accepting other offers as well, but it needs to be dual chip.
I think you are wrong. Moto G beats almost every aspect of S4 mini. Only plus of Samsung: SD card and maybe the camera.
But as ever, you should touch both devices with your own hands.

But doesn't S4 mini have a 1.7GHz dual core and 1.5GB RAM and Moto G on the other hand has a 1.2GHz quad core and 1GB RAM ?
I think in that case that S4 mini is best on the technical side (and if not, please let me know because that's the only reason for me to still consider the S4 mini )

I choosed the Moto G, i had the same through. Shop allowed me to test both, and i kinda found the Moto G much smoother in many things. Only positive was the Camera of the S4 Mini, Pictures where a tad better.

The Moto G is by far the most responsive phone I've used. That might not say much, try it yourself, you'll understand

If I wait for the moto G to get here I will lose the black friday deal
S4 mini has LTE. The G has only hspa+ 21 (nexus 4 has hspa+ 42). Also S4 mini is significantly (imho) smaller in length, width, thickness, and weight. Go here to compare. Click "VIEW LAYERED"
I don't have either phone, but I would say its IMPOSSIBLE for me to go with a screen that is under 300 ppi, hence the G would be it for me between the two.

[Q] HTC One X vs Nexus 4 vs Galaxy S3 vs Note 2 vs G Pro vs Xperia ZL in real world

I have only used dumb-phones until now and plan to get a smartphone.
I did a little surfing and found Adreno 320 is better than Mali 400 GPU and Qualcomm Snapdragons are better than Samsung Exynos, right?
But in real world they say Note 2 is considered better phone than Nexus 4. I don't understand this.
Different phones top in different benchmarks, and still some things like display quality are not considered in benchmarks i guess, right?
Now I haven't used any smartphone before, and the I would be using it for gaming or watching videos/movies only most of the time as I'm a student.
Which of these phones that I mentioned (all in 23-29,000 INR range) are better than others in reality?
Those who have used these phones or are techsavy might be able to guide me in making the right choice
Just found S3 in India has different specs than in US, Canada etc.
India: 1.4 Ghz Quad-core Exynos 4412,Mali-400,1GB
US: 1.5 Ghz Dual-core Snapdragon, Adreno 225,2GB

Droid Mini successor?

Any word on one of these yet? I think I am done with the bigger phones.
There are rumors of a Droid Mini 2 codename "Valocia". It will supposedly have a Snapdragon 801 SoC, which consists of a 2.5 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU and an Adreno 330 GPU.
That's all I've been able to find. I really hope it is still "Mini" and is no bigger in body size than the current Droid Mini.
I worry it will end up being bigger and not so "Mini" any more. Reason being small smartphones are becoming less and less popular, with Motorola even having made the 2014 versions of MOTO X and MOTO G much bigger than the 2013 models despite keeping the same name. I'm taking really good care of my current Mini in case the Mini 2 isn't so mini any more.

If they do all the upgrades of the X and give it a little better screen I believe I will get it and hope for decent battery life.
Since becoming a father a month ago my Maxx is a pain to truly one hand.
Droid Mini 2 (Valocia)
1/4/2016 Have heard nothing about the New Motorola Droid Mini for months. Any rumors or facts whether it has been canceled or still be released in 2016?
I haven't seen any info out there about it at all. They may have just decided that nobody wants a "small" phone any more. Everyone I know has gone to 5.1"+, and that includes both Android and iOS users.
If they do come out with a Droid Mini 2, I bet it won't be so Mini and will probably have at least a 4.7" screen.

Someone offered a 16gb nexus 5

For my moto g2015 2gb ram version
Since it doesn't have b12 any longer nor volte I was thinking of doing it
Should I?
Does the n5 support T-Mobile volte and qc2.0?
Check it works first.
Keep the moto G 2015
@PunishedSnake
I did and good thing I did cuz the battery life is awesome
I would consider the Moto G an upgrade from the Nexus 5. You get better battery life on the Moto G and the thing is water resistant. ?

its waterproof for upto 30min
the moto g is a budget phone comparing to a high end one, 720p vs 1080p @5inch, better cpu and in a lighter smaller frame.
the moto g is new, same camera as nexus 6, turbo charge, 64bit,, lower clocked CPU, lower-powered CPU, and GPU, but a bigger battery.
gyroscope and stereo speakers are removed i believe.
even though the nexus 5 is old, it still have specs better than some phones released today.
but the 2gb ram is better, i remembered having a moto g 2013,2014 and the multi tasking was noticeable to the nexus 4,5 due to the ram and soc performance.
