Hello. Can I have some advice on some good ear buds for my phone? I can spend Max $40-60. Would be great if they had volume control and/or mic on them.
Thanks in advance!

I have this ones the Experience XE200PRO Ebony braun/schwarz
http://www.xears.com/produkte/experience-xe200pro-ebony-braun-schwarz
They are really good hearbuds. I mean. REALLY good and the bass, If you know how to set it (not with beats ^^) is absolutely massive
I think there is a reduction code to get them at 30-40€ don't remember what
the code is: * (edit: found it )
KLANGFUZZIS
they drop then to 30€
Ah yes actually they are not made for sport. because of the wood and the size

Bose Ie2 Earphones
For sound quality I would rather go for JVC.
I bought Philips SHE8500, which is on top why I don't know, and was a bit dissapointed. The level of BASS was low.
Then I bought one from JVC and it was perfect. JVC HA F150B - sound is just perfect.
I never used Phillips SHQ1000.

Ive never before liked in ears, but these are just great!
Clear, strong bass, very good overall sound and you can hear everything there is in music.
also blocks ambient noise very nicely

It also depends on how you want to use the earphones..jogging or just lying down listening to music. If you prefer using it while jogging, i suggest you get something sweat and water proof. And somethings that doesn't easily come off when you jog.
I just use them while walking or sit down somewhere.

beats audio is quiet bad. you just pay for the label.
i bought some ultimate ears super.fi 5 pro from ebay after reading some reviews.
when released they cost about 180€ i got them for just under 50€.
if you want to spent more money and want some really good sound, look for the triple.fi 10 pro.
Just got me these pair http://www.buy.com/prod/monster-diddybeats-high-performance-in-ear-headphones/215198711.html They fall right in your price range. I know people dont like beats headset for various reasons. Unless you are an audiophiles, i dont think they make too much different. I read a few reviews and everyone seem to like it. Mine will arrive the 20th, i'll let you know how they sound. Hopefully the price will stay the same for the next few days for you.

Hello guys. I am using my nexus 4 with phonak audeo which are 32ohm headphones and they are really silent with it. I assume it is caused by low quality dać in n4 right and fact that n4 can't supply enough mV for them? Will the headphone amplifier help here? What if amp is 20Hz-20kHz and phonaks are 5Hz-17kHz? Will it "cut" the low tones somehow? Will the quality be better?
Do you recommend any amp for it?
Thanks in advance!
Or maybe there is any other method to make it louder?
Nexus 4 and Tapatalk 2
They sound okay with my Grados, but yeah, volume can be an issue. However, if you want to try an amp, see if you can get a Fiio E5, only around $20 and very small. No sense bulking your pockets up with a $250 amp.

So the low volume is caused by n4 or those 32ohmz?

The fact that alsa drivers can up the n4s volume temporarily would indicate the n4 is capable of louder volume (not just modified equalizer levels).. Just have to wait for a kernel dev to implant a more permanent solution.. An amp like the recommended fiios could help in the mean time..

Well. Maybe it's your songs.
At home I use my AKG K240 MKII (55 Ohms) and I think they're fine. Not exactly "loud", but enjoyable. Some songs are really, really silent. However, those also are with my in-ears, which have a low impedance.
You could try to amplify your audio files, which works without quality-loss to a certain degree.

Honestly, try to find the E5. I've used it, it's good, it's very small, it's aluminium, it's cheap so if you break it or lose it, no big loss. It's also one of the few sub-$50 small amps that you can use while charging (charging the amp, I mean, mini-USB) without any appreciable noise. You can't go wrong.
Mine is a couple of years old, but if the still make them the same, there is a hidden/accidental feature, too: if you put the bass boost switch in BETWEEN 'off' and 'on' you get a very nice warm sound.
Here's a link to the e5

So e5>e6?!
Thanks for all the replies. I can easily find e5 but thought that e02i would be a better choice.

I guess it depends what you want. If you want a mic incorporated into the amp itself, sure, I guess. But as far as I'm concerned, it's bulkier and doesn't look as good as the E5. Additionally, there's this, from a head-fi review:
It is not sonically as clear as the popular E5 of the same price bracket, nor is it superior in an audiophile sense.

and
If you are looking for this as just an amp than look elsewhere. For the price, it's amp is a 7/10. Very average, sonically disapointing at times but with a nice bass that can sometimes make up for it.

In the end, it's your money, really.
Thanks for you time! Actualy I found few reviews and some of them tell good things about it: "So now how do they sound? Well, Quite good actually! The sound is on the same level of quality as the e6 with about the same amount of gain when comparing them at full volume on the different sources I used. "
I just hope it won't add anything bad^^
I bought one. Will post my impressions if you want
Just so I'm clear, I was talking about the e02i above. The E5 and E6 are functionally pretty much the same.

Just to clarify one thing.
It is not just the impedance that decides if speakers is easy to drive. The magnet, the coil and of course the impedance all makes difference.

No, absolutely. I've used some high-impedance Senns that were very easy to drive. But it's pretty easy to point someone to an amp when they say they find the volume low.
I use this. Never looked back. Picked up a couple spare batteries and charger on ebay for like $10 so when I travel I have hours and hours of use. It's larger than the E5/E6 amps but far superior in sound quality and amplification. I let my brother listen to my ATMH50s with this amp at half volume and my old S2 phone and he said it sounded like he was in a club. Yeah, I'm a bass head but the amp is highly reviewed for all types of listening.

... . -. - ...- .. .- - .- .--. .- - .- .-.. -.-
I'm using my Nexus 4 with a pair of 32ohm Denon AHD-1100s and it sounds fantastic.
I'm using PlayerPro with FLAC files, with the added DSP pack, and then I just have a totally flat EQ and bump up the gain on the preamp.
Music sounds awesome on the Nexus 4. Really open, wide soundscapes, and the bass doesn't muddy or distort. Sounds far less 'coloured' than with my old S2 with the same set up.
Okay, this hasn't been the best day of my life. I was Skyping with my Z and in a hurry of having to do something in the house I pulled out my stock earphones (which model are they anyway, I can't seem to find the model version) out of my ears and while I was getting up I somehow pulled the wire and my phone fell down from my desk. When I picked it up, I had an unpleasant surprise awating for me. My earphone jack was broken from the fall, and is quite unusable now as the sound is distorted.
So, my question is, is there any list of compatible earphones for XZ? I tried my SE Xperia Arc's stock earphones, but Sony gentlemen decided to make them INCOMPATIBLE with XZ (which pissed me off good). I really need help as I'm using my XZ as an mp3 player as well.
Thanks in advance!
I think any iPhone compatible headset will do just fine.

I own the Sennheiser Momentum and they work OK with the Xperia Z even though they are branded for iPhone use.
Mic works, control remote is limited though. Volume up and down don't work, but the middle button can be used to pause, answer, skip track, hang a call.
Most of the time u do will have issues with headphone that have a control or a hands free system in it. Unless they aren't the sony ones u might get in to issues but pretty much every other headphone that don't have a control or hands free on it should work flawless. Or Bluetooth Stereo headphone even with control and Hands free should work fine too. As long as they aren't branded from any other cellphone manufacturer. For example my beats headphone from htc have issues with the xperia z the Samsung headphones do too. But my other 2 pair that aren't branded from a cellphone manufacturer work fine.

Over the ears are great, at the cost of portability. For me, in ears suites me better as I live in a urban area. At home, I don't use the Pistons as I use my headset.
Sennheiser HD555s were awesome open ear headphones are super nice too but really only used indoors because of noise leaks
Jabra halo2 .... basic, cheap...at home sennheiser hd555/595, but mostly halo2 at home too.

I m using Audio Technica ATH-CKL203iS + Poweramp Mid Bass + Soft Bass, perfect suit for me.
I'm using TDK BA200 iems. Sound excellent with the OPO but no hands free option with those.
I left my iPhone 6+ for the nexus (don't judge from my past indiscretion lol)
The apple ear buds were quite nice.. They were more than adequate. I have an old nexus pair but they sound like crap all tinny and the buttons do not work.
So, here is what I am looking for and hoping someone can help me before I have to travel with these nexus buds.
Wired headset with mic. Optional that there are buttons to control the volume.
Thanks

Highly recommended, simply the best you can if you don't want to spend a lot more.
If you don't want the silicone bits in your ear the Degauss Labs Pocket Couture headphones are great. The sound quality isn't as good as their fully in ear headphones like the Noirs etc but I have heard far worse. The buttons work fine provided you get the Android version.

Disclaimer: The ones with 3 button controls - I have no clue if all of the buttons work with the 6P. I'm making recommendations based on products I've had some kind of experience with, and I tend to prioritize audio and build quality over smartphone compatibility. All of the 1 buttons earphones should work fine.
enjoy.

Guys, can you confirm that all three buttons work for sure because my Mi3 piston earphones doesn't quite work well. The volume down button and the mic don't seem to work. Works fine with my old Nexus 5 though.
Yes all three are working! I want to buy the piston, but after I reading that the buttons don't work and with hybrid are working, I just buy the hybrid and it was an excellent deal.

I'm very tempted to buy those pocket couture, I was looking for something similar to apple earpods (or even apple earpods) for my 5X, since I don't like (I hate a lot) this fully in ear headphones (seems like screws in my ear to me). Any other suggestions for me? Or the best I can do itś going for the degauss labs pocket couture?

I certainly couldn't find anything else without the silicone tips and Android controls built in. There are a few Bluetooth options which fit the bill although these are a lot more costly/bulky.
