[Q] LG G2 Wifi Issues - AT&T LG G2

I replaced my lg g2 lcd today, but now my wifi and bluetooth strength is super weak. I have to be pretty close to my router just to use wifi, and my bluetooth speaker has to be literally 2 inches away from my phone to work. Does anyone know what I can do or what part I need to replace in order to fix this?

Touch Pro 2 poor bluetooth and wifi reception

Hello
I have a German T-Mobile branded Touch Pro 2 which has been flashed to the WWE rom (1.86.401.0 build 67102), radio 4.49.25.17, protocol 61.44tc.25.32U.
I seem to be suffering from lousy bluetooth and wifi reception and was wondering if anyone else has had any problems,
For the bluetooth, it will struggle to work with a headset that is more than 3-5 feet away. For the wifi, it will struggle if it is more than 4-5m from the access point (with line of sight).
This is really really poor and I'm wondering if my unit is defective or whether they are all like this?
If it's a problem just with my one, does anyone know what the problem could be? I've seen a disassembly guide, which shows that the antenna module is at the top of the device and is relatively easily removed/replaced. Could it be a bad connection to the wifi/bluetooth antenna? The GSM/3G coverage is fine.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew
I have the same situation with my phone.
Mine is a US unlocked Touch Pro2 flashed with the WWE rom (2.07.401.1 build 80303), radio 4.49.25.88, protocol 61.44tc.25.33U.
Any suggestion?
I broke the screen on my old phone recently and bought a new Touch Pro 2. The new one is fine in terms of reception, so I imagine the first one (and possibly your one) are faulty. If you have the opportunity to return yours and swap it, I'd do so.
I'm going to take the old one apart to replace the screen. If I find out what's wrong with the reception along the way I'll let you know. I suspect the aerial is not properly seated/connected on the contacts on the motherboard.

I have tried to troubleshoot my issue thinkin it could be my Altec headset. I paired it with my buddies phone "HTC Epic" and has clear connection for over 80 ft. Not the headset. I can't tell what it could be.
I have an EVO running Calkulin's EViO 2 ROM v1.2
Maybe its not that but not sure if its the Kernal or what.
My Wifi connections rock.

[Q] Signal and Antenna layout / schematic

Hello,
Firstly I'm looking for a comment from an expert who has taken Nexus5s apart before. Also I'm beyond the point of returning the phone as this fault developed after replacing a screen and ribbon cable (after I smashed my phone badly). Any help or advice would be great.
So since screen and USB flex replacement on my D821 i notice that my phone signal will connect with full bars, then drop completely, I can also only get 2g where i was able to get higher. The same sim works fine in my nokia. The Wifi Signal is fine and gps works ok but the 'no service' thing makes my phone unusable. I have tried making sure all contacts are clean and even replaced the loudspeaker unit and the black antenna cable but to no avail.
Can someone put up a picture of exactly the components that are involved in the phone signal / 3g setup? Is it possible something could have been damaged on the mainboard to cause this? I can search for networks, connect (sometimes) then it will just cut out.
I tried google for days but cant find a schematic. Basically im trying to determine if there are any other parts i should try exchanging before giving up. It makes no difference how i hold (or dont hold) the phone.
Thanks

[Q] Weak WiFi issue after water damage on Nexus 5

Because I love my new Nexus 5 so much, I "had" to go swimming with it for about 10 mins until I *realized* it's not water-proof. :silly:
Anyway, I opened it up and did my best to save it. And it boots up and functions again. :victory: However, there are three sequels:
1. LCD display shows water streaks in the background and the contrast is bad but can still see;
2. The vertical center line of the touch sensor doesn't seem to work; Elsewhere works fine;
3. Very weak WiFi reception and hardly be able to connect to any wifi network unless it's in the proximity of the router.
The first two problems can be "easily" fixed by replacing a new digitizer/screen assembly. But the #3 is the most critical issue. If it's not fixable, this phone is pretty much useless to me.
I've read that many people complained about the weak wifi issue on Nexus 5. But mine was very good and always had strong signal before it went swimming. I've tried cleaning up the WiFi/BT circuits and even made sure to have the WiFi/BT antenna on the back cover to have good contact with the contact pin on the main board. But still got weak reception.
Has anyone had similar issue and how to fix weak wifi reception problem? Or where can I get it fixed?
Thanks a bunch!

Calling works sometimes, no network available most of the time

My original OnePlus One worked great in my area, my Moto E also get's signal all the time so this is not a network coverage issue. I have an OPO that will let me make calls perfectly with great clarity, and then a moment later will say it does cannot find a signal. If left on it will mostly have no signal but after a few power cycles boom there you go, full signal! I would think it was an antenna issue except when it does work I have full signal, not a weak signal like on my old S3 with antenna issues.
I am hoping this is just a modem issue that can be fixed by flashing the latest stock rom/modem but I am hoping I can get some input on the problem.
Thanks for your time!

have you dropped the device? it could be hardware.....too. Have you tried different modems or not? If not that would be a start. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/firmware-modem-oneplus-one-t3462214). If the modems dont help then here what i would check...only if you confident.
Open the OPO and make sure the screws have not come lose as sometimes that can cause issues with signal.
Recently i has something similar but no as bad as you, i ended up replacing the, Speaker Antenna module, microphone flex. you could also replace the coax- i was suppose to be but the one i got sent was too long so i had to stick with the original one.
This is what they ebay guy sent me before i replaced the parts:
first thing to replace is the Coaxial cable (which carry's signal), check both coaxial sockets and the ports on the board it connects to
-Second (like you said) Mic Flex, although it is a tough call between the lower speaker unit and the mic flex as they are equally as likley to be at fault)
the speaker unit contains the GSM Antenna, the Mic flex simply takes the Signal to the main board from the speaker Module.
both would be Ideal unless you have time. speaker unit is relatively cheap.
finally check for any lose connections or wear to any of the Gold inside the phone where it makes a connection, using some wet and dry sandpaper rub the Gold plates Very very lightly to reveal a shinny Gold, some on the mic flex, some on the speaker unit, some on the other flex's,
and finally tighten all screws properly, often the screws can work their way out, pulling the connections away from each other.
I would suggest check the connection and wear to the gold as mentioned if u dont want to replace the parts. I found that the coax on mine has been disconnected on one end so i fixed this but it didnt help hence i ended up replacing the parts.
Service was spotty for me too.. I would have LTE and then the next second EDGE or no service at all. I eventually had to fastboot flash CyanogenOS 13 (latest stock for our device) and start over but it fixed my problem. I have not had a problem since.

Major wifi issue in pixel

Everything is smooth and perfect except Wifi.
I can found close wifi networks (Mobile hotspots created by other phones) but if I try to connect it just saves them, cannot connect to any wifi networks.
And the strength is too low. It is unable to find my room's wifi ...!!
So I am just totally unable to use wifi in my Pixel :/
Also I turn on Hotspot on my Pixel, it turns on but I cannot find it from other devices.
Also upgraded from 8.1.0 to 9.0 but still same issue.
Without Wifi its so miserable experience Any Solution?????
Yeah, same issue. It's a hardware thing. If you've dropped your phone either the cable came loose or the PCB board is off. I threw mine before (long story) but can't use wifi nor Bluetooth without being close to what I'm connected to.
I just don't feel like fixing it considering the pixel can break by repair. Plus, my 6p is my DD anyway
Dang, I gave my sister this phone and this problem just appeared. Time to look for a new phone for her.
Ok, being real for a second, this worked and I know it is a VERY BAD workaround but can help in a pinch.
I bought a refurb pixel on woot. Took a while to get it because it was sent to a friend's PO box and then brought to mexico, ergo no warranty.
Unboxed it and had this exact same issue; little to no signal on very few wifi hotspots and just "saving"
Seeing as this might be hardware related as @creep138 mentioned, I tried the following:
PRESS considerably hard on the point that the antenna connector should be.
After a couple of seconds of force and massaging, wifi came on and connected.
I KNOW this is a bad idea, I KNOW this might cause several issues on the long run, but if you have it sitting in a drawer doing nothing because of this issue, give it a try.
For reference this was done on a Verizon Black Pixel. The small one. and the point to apply pressure to is about half an inch below the camera and flash module.
Hope this helps

Status update:
After doing what I have already described, that helped to connect to the wifi at my workplace. Nonetheless I didn't have suck luck with my home wifi.
After reading here and there, some users reported the device connecting to 5Ghz wifi no problem. My work is indeed 5Ghz and my home is 2.4
After unpacking and installing a 5Ghz capable router, the pixel connected no problem to it (after applying the aforementioned pressure)
Hope this helps
