My phone app is missing, I'm using sense so the phone is included in the bar but I also had the phone app on my lock screen and noticed it was gone. Opened app draw its not there, but if I go into manage applications its listed. Any ideas how I can get it back?

Mines gone too, but I didn't mess with my lock screen, so I still have it there. So If I do change my Lock screen, it will disappear.
I didn't even mess with the lock screen it just was a blank spot where the phone icon was.

Have you guys tried going into 'Menu>Personalize>Lock screen>Settings' and assign the phone app to the respective shortcut?
The phone app is no longer there.

Not yet. Was hoping to find a different way first before a factory reset.

happened to me a while back when i first flashed rom on phone. for me, a reboot solved it. maybe i also wiped cache and dalvik.
The same thing has happened to me.
A Google search and a search here has returned no solutions.
I saw on a Google search it may have been the OTA update, not sure.
Disregard my signature, it's old. I am now running a 100% stock HTC Sensation. No mods, no Rom, no root (waiting for the official bootloader unlock).
Anyone found a solution for this. And please don't give me a tier 1 tech support answer, "we need to do a factory reset". I hate factory resets, at least not yet stock. Maybe after I root and put titanium backup back on this badboy.

Why are you still waiting for the "official" unlock? Pretty sure I have seen numerous threads stating that tmob sensation had.been added to HTC unlock if revolutionary concerns you.
Yep, takes 5 minutes to do it via HTC with their unlock code.
I just downloaded the phone apk from which a member created. U can find it on the forum, the link where u can download the apk file and use it on the lockscreen.

I've heard about this tool but I've never used it. Seems a bit complicated in that you have to flash stuff before flashing rom, and after. Also once you run the program everything is gone completely. I like having control using root explorer to either move or delete the files that way if something does go wrong I just add it back onto my phone and change the permissions. Maybe it's just a lack of knowledge.

Hi,
It's a lot easier than it seems, and speeds the installation process up.
Perhaps , it's not for everyone, but the [OP] stated removing bloatware ,which it does in seconds.
It takes a while to configure the initial user text file, but once you have done it, you don't ever have to do it again.
And you only have to run it once after flashing the ROM.
It takes 30 seconds to run.
How do I know which particular bloatwares to remove? I'm new to android. Less than a week old.

Hi,
Have a look at what is included in a basic ROM,by looking at THIS USER TEXT FILE.
You will also see guide alongside it showing what each one does.
Make sure you have notepad++(google it).
I have tried all I can but still can do the bloatware removal. I have rooted, enabled SU and I have installed root explorer but I don't know what to do now. The root explorer gives make access to the ROM but I don't know what to remove and how to remove it.

First of all you need to root your phone even If you don't want to flash any custom rom. The reason is you want to remove some of the system applications. After rooting you can use titanium backup to remove these app. But make sure you have nandroid backup if anything goes wrong.

Good evening, good news i succesfully made my phone s-off and rooted it. (2hours) Now i got a question: i try to remove twitter and facebook. The application installer removed it from the phone because i saw the data going down, but i still have the icons in my programlist. Is there any way to remove them, without booting a hole new rom. As you can read im still a newbee here.
Btw titanium backup says im succesfully rooted. Yay, Hope someone knows a answer.
And Xda Congrats with the 50.000 achievement
Boys keep up the good work !

Congrats and welcome to XDA. I would never go back to anything other than an Android OS. It is so much more customizable than anything else out there. I would say read through the forums and see what you can do and what you can tweak. Also, if you get bored you can try flashing different ROMS and see what you like best.
I was already member of xda years before in the time of qtek 2020i. (guus they called it then xda or mda. But unfortunally i lost my account from then, so had to make a new one. Otherwise i was not a newbee . For now i still like the stock ROM of htc. (stable and all functions work. Unlike the bèta verions of ics)

I've had my One X since May without any issues, but last week the camera just stopped working. When I opened the camera app, I just got a black screen with the normal camera buttons but they do nothing when you touch them. I was able to get the front camera to work, but only in Google+ while hosting a hangout.
The phone is unlocked, and was running Cleanrom 5.0 at the time. I first thought it might be software related so I restored my phone with a nandroid backup from September, but I got the same response from the camera app. Then I did a factory reset, formatted system & sdcard, and installed CM10. Same result... So then I assumed it had to be a hardware issue. I ordered an oem rear camera off of eBay and replaced it. Now when I open camera in CM10 I get this popup:
Camera Error: Can't connect to the camera.
I've also downloaded several other camera apps from Play, but none of them work either.
Does anyone have any other ideas? Any other parts that might be the culprit? My warranty is void since I unlocked it, and I'm well out of my 30 days with AT&T.
Thanks!
- Jeremy
You could try to flash the Camfix from the ViperXL thread in Android Dev.
Not entirely sure that would fix it, but it's worth a shot. Wouldn't hurt your phone either.
Are you running a custom kernel or plain CM10?
Try flashing the new gapps. it includes the 4.2 camera
Camfix didn't work

Just plain CM10, I actually already downloaded the new Gallery app from 4.2 and it didn't work.
I think it might be Nexus 4 time if I can't get this figured out soon...

Hey guys,
I rooted my HTC One Mini in hope to get rid of all the Google Bloatware, then I found out, I would need S-OFF as well (screw you Google/HTC!). So I guess I'm sticking with disabling and hiding apps in the menu, therefore I don't need root anymore.
When I rooted my Mini, I also installed Superuser via the TWRP recovery and now I can't get rid of it anymore.
I tried uninstalling it while booted into the OS with RootExplorerKit but that doesn't work.
What can I do?
Any help is greatly appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

Have you tried uninstalling from inside supersu? I know there is an uninstall option under supersu settings.
As for removing bloat, have you tried using aroma file manager? It's a zip file you use from twrp which would allow you to delete files from recovery, like system apps. Should work without s-off as it's from recovery.
There is a s-off method which worked for my one mini, but I'm not sure it's 100% safe for all phones...

Do you know any way for uninstalling Vodafone's pre-installed apps or other pre-installed apps like "kids mode" from my HTC one mini? The normal way by drag & drop doesn't work.

Try going to settings>apps scroll across to "all" and from here you can disable system apps. Or if your rooted use TitaniumBackup.

Disable just freezes the app.

How to unroot the HTC One mini (M4)
Hello there. I own an htc one mini and want to unroot it on order to install the last update for Android and Sense now officialy available (didn't know it won't be possible to do it without going back to stock, TWRP always show up when the phone restarts for update installation). According to an unroot process I've found for the One (M7), it is said I need to get the ADT bundle + proper RUU file, but I can't find any RUU for the mini (M4) on the net, just nowhere...so sad. And if someone could help, which one would be for a european debranded phone (Switzerland actually) ? Thanks for your advice and all the best. ***Can't move this post to a new thread, as I've just noticed my error***

Thanks for answering. This is kind of bad news. I'm surprised no one have had the same problem, the mini seems to be unknown from the public.
Then I'll move to new roms, any idea about the cyanogen one ? Doesn't seem available yet.
CM11 is still in the early stages by the looks of it, but it's being worked on, and many thanks to h8rift for his efforts so far. I'm currently using Magio R3 and loving it.
Seems HTC have left us mini owners to stagnate, with very little if any source code release among other things like the lack of app compatibility. If HTC doesn't step up it's game I don't think I'll be using the company again...
I previously came from a Samsung phone and their source releases were always available. I'm now starting to regret the move in companies, especially with the reports of cracks appearing in the plastics of the HTC one mini phone, which luckily I haven't suffered yet, but is a daily worry for me as I'm tied to a 2 year contract.
Don't get me wrong though it's a nice phone, but is lacking in some support and quality.
Sent from my HTC One mini using xda app-developers app
Hi Ruff,
Thanks again for answering.
I'm not very keen in Magio but it only based on screen captures I've seen, CM seems more accomplished to me, but it's only an impression. Indeed there are very few source of information about the mini and exactly like you, if HTC products can't attract more users and thus more developers, I won't buy any other device from them. That was my second but also probably last try.
Since the Galaxy S1 came up, I've only bought Samsung phones, actually I chose the mini for its design cause I found the S3/s4 rather ugly.
I faced cracks with the HTC One S, supposed to be built with special ceramic, and after 3 months the screen freezed then the phone died...
I like this phone very much as well, but because I've rooted the phone in order to install new roms (and didn't find almost any rom because of the lack of development) and thought it would be easy to unroot it, which is actually impossible, now I can't benefit from natural development proposed by HTC...I feel like an idiot and this is what I am with a strong probability.
Now I can only but waiting on someone proposing a tutorial for dummies explaining how to go back to stock rom with their M4.
Saying that, all the best and waiting for my Saviour
Best way to do it is to s-off your mini using revone method and then lock your mini and remove the tampered flag. After that download the ruu from htc.com at the support and then mini. Just take the ruu and your bootloader will show locked and s-off if you done it correctly and no one really check your s-off thing.

Thanks for your suggestions but it sounds chinese for me, looking at the revone method then it looks even more japanese. About the ruu on htc.com, I didnt' find it, the only download they propose is the sync manager.Regarding my little knowledge, what I need now is a structured tutorial. Therefore I'll do searches on web now and then and probably one day someone will propose it. Thanks for your help anyway. Cheers guys
