[Q] set aotu restart - Samsung Galaxy Core

i am using samsung galaxy core (GT-18262) for five months. But recently i am facing a problem. It takes auto restart in anytime. i went customer service centre with this problem. afte that they changed its motherboard. but problem hasnt solve yet. now what can i do?

Maybe the atmospheric pressure in your country is constantly messing with your phone
Anyway, it's strange that changing the motherboard didn't solve the problem. I don't even know what to suggest, nor even where to start troubleshooting.
But.. maybe they hadn't changed the motherboard afterall ?

Or maybe too much radiation from hazardous stuff or exposure to magnetic fields or dropping your phone.

Same issue (Auto restart)
I am also facing the same problem with my Galaxy core (GT-I8262). May i know which type of sim cards your using cutted sims. (Normal - micro) which is cutted or (Micro sim) which u have taken directly from the network people .

Periodic reboot of a cell phone does not have anything to do with a sim card.
It may be due to some bug on the PCB Board or something messed up in your phone like any app that causes the cell phone to restart periodically.
It may be also due to over heating
God knows what is the correct reason behind this ??
RISK EVERYTHING
Press Thanks  If I Helped

lol !
While we are talking about the screen here, has anyone had problems accepting calls? On very hot days, when the phone heats up a bit in the pocket, I am completely unable to accept a call - the screen simply doesn't respond, but does so after the phone call attempt has ended.
I am though scared to contact customer support since my Desire is still in repair (sent in 3 times) since end of March.

Yes that must be it. Gods revenge..hehe.
Froschfinger: sounds like you have the same problem as me.
Takk for det, you are having the same heat problems like I do? Wasn't really keen on walking through all the touchscreen-related threads in detail, but didn't find out about heat problems of others so far. I have one of the early Vodafone devices.
check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140997
they are talking about the same thing, maybe you'll find a solution.
I have the same problem, its actually pretty random and doesn't always happens but is getting annoying.
I contacted customer support to probably find a solution to the problem. She told me to do a soft reset, i.e. pull out the battery while the phone is running, leave it out for some minutes and insert it again. Furthermore she told me that older sim cards can cause problems with newer phones, something I hadn't heard of before (she was talking about three to four years old sims). So far haven't had any problems with unresponsiveness, but an unnoticed shutdown, plus it's significantly colder outside so it might not happen too soon again.
After update 2.3.4 the problem is gone. screen working perfecktly.

Capacitive touch screens don't like heat. You have static problem which in conjunction with heat make phone unusable at times. Check fix for touchscreen thread, plus my thread on how to keep phone at bay, so it doesn't do it again.

[Q] Calls garbled / no audio?

Ok we have 2 Infuses at my house and both are getting some king of call garbling. My mothers phone garbles very often and will only work if she hangs up and tries again. My phone on the other hand does the same thing with the added bonus of sometimes having no sound at all when the person picks up. So, is this a common problem or what?
I would like to add that some times the garbling goes both ways so that I hear the distortion on my phone when she calls (I mean this distortion is not related to our voices, ittl just happen by itself prompting a "did you just hear that?"
Thanks for any help you guys can give me, Im starting to wish I could still return it for another phone.
Is your sim card new?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Sure isnt. I havent had a problem on my backup phone.
Weird. No problems like that - the only audio problem I've seen reported any time recently is the Hellraiser first-call bug - but that only applies if you're running a Hellraiser ROM.
Really sounds to me like something is funky with your local towers... Maybe something the Infuse specifically doesn't like.
What was your backup phone? You never know, getting a new sim may help.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Network issue, just because another different model phone doesn't have the save issue means nothing. Your backup device could be GSM only for all we know while the Infuse uses WCDMA priority and GSM as a backup.
A SIM swap won't do anything unless you were getting no signal at all. Call at&t and report it, they'll most likely file a service request and send an engineer out to check it out.
Being that I used to be in telecommunications for T-mobile, this was a frequent issue I dealt with.

Thanks for that advice, Ive been pushing her to call in but shes far too lazy. Ill do it for my phone and see what happens.

[Q] Help, 2 problems.

Hello fellow XDA members,
Before I start, I would like to appologize if my English spelling is not perfect.
Ok, Problem 1:
This morning i woke up, and as usual, my phone was still plugged in into the charger. (Acer Liquid E2).
But, the thing that actually woke me up, was the phone constantly re-booting, and making the start-up sound + vibration.
When I took the phone, it was SUPER hot... I have never felt a phone being so hot.
It kinda got me worried...
I have the phone for about 2 weeks now.
What i did, was unplug the phone from the charger, took out the battery and placed them on my marble windowsill, and left it there to cool down for about 15 minutes.
When it was cool again, i placed the battery in the phone, and booted it up.
There was nothing wrong with the phone, but when it booted, it said that it was only charged 16%...
While it had been in the charger for about 7h's straight.
I just charged the phone again, but this time using another charger.
To Be Honest, I used the charger from my old samsung device, and swapped to the charger that came with the Acer phone.
I used the Samsung charger, because it has the same plug + the cable is longer ...
Do you think that this all happened because the samsung charger is not compatible with the acer device?
Or should I bring the phone back to the store, and have them take a look at it?
Ok, Problem 2:
When I try to call someone.
I often need to call 3-4 times...
Sometimes, when I call and the person answers my call, I can not hear them.
But the phone is still calling...
I need to re-call them then, and when the phone is calling, and I head a double beep.. then it will work...
Its really hard to explain..
But when I hear 2 dail beeps at once, then I can make a call,
if I only hear one dial beep, then I am a 100% sure it will not work, and I will need to recall them...
I have never had this problem before.
Could it be the provider? or the phone?
I hope you understand my issues,
And I am hoping that you guys can help me.
PS: if I posted this in the wrong section, please forgive me and move it to the right section on the board.
Thanks for your time,
And I am looking forward to see the replies.
Greetings from Belgium,
Kristiaan D.

No my friend,
Just android 4.2.1,
Its the stock ROM that came with the phone, but with an update.
Thank you for your reply.
Doing a preliminary search I discovered that it might not be your phone, it might actually be a tower or similar in your area.
What kind of phone do you have? What carrier do you have?
Do you travel away from your home regularly? Do these issues persist when you are away from home?
According to another forum it could be your SIM card or your SD card (if you have either of those)?
According to another forum you may need to consider a factory reset to clear the cache and then reintroduce applications one by one to see if any are actually causing the problem.
I see you are in Belgium so I know some of the above may have no pertinence to your situation.

My carrier is BASE.
Well, i walk alot...
And these problems happen everywhere that i go...
But to be honest, i never go far away... (max 20km)
I don't think its an app that causes this, because i have had this problem from the first day that i bough the phone.
Thanks for the reply

@ikristiaan - 20k is more than enough to rule out towers as the cause.
What kind of phone do you have?
Does your phone have an SD card or a SIM card?
To find if the problem is due to charger or phone, connect it to a laptop or pc via USB and let it charge and also if u want to know if it was also not because of network take away the SIM and charge if the problem still present then u should probably take it to store.it happens if you've overclock too.

It does not get that hot when i charge it using the pc or when i charge it using the charger that came with the phone.
I did not overclock it. It has enough power with its 1.2ghz quad core
thanks for the replies

@ikristiaan
1) Try removing the SD card for a few hours to see if it restarts on its own.
2) Try plugging your phone into the charger, then remove the battery. Observe it to see if it restarts.
3) If those do not make a difference remove your SIM card to see if your phone restarts by itself without the SIM.
Report back here with results.
@ikristiaan - Hey, I'm just checking back in to see if you've had any success with any of the trouble-shooting methods above.
I look forward to hearing back!

Overheating

When I'm on cellular network, my phone starts overheating & becomes very laggy. I've factory reset, taken updates, anything I could to try & fix.
Any help is appreciated.

By cellular network do you mean mobile data? It's normal for mobile data to make the phone hotter but it shouldn't make the phone laggy as it isn't consuming processor power.
mobile data does make phone heat mainly because of the signal strength, but lag maybe because of some other aspect
The only possible situation I see is:
- You turn on Mobile data;
- The phone starts to heat up due to two main reasons: 4G (or LTE) antenna starts to work at high speeds, and the CPU is working hard on some app that is causing that excessive mobile data communication;
- As the heat comes up, the CPU thermal-throttles.
This happens sometimes in my LG G2.
But I highly doubt this is happening on the Honor 8, as the CPU is more efficient and the layout of the components (motherboard, LCD drivers, etc...) is a little better than on the G2.
Usually, this type of behaviour is caused by an app that is abusive on the quantity of data used.
Start by analysing what processes are running on the background, what apps are consuming more mobile data and if GPS is also being used.
If an app stands out, uninstall it.
If this do not solve your problem, my advice is: do a factory reset and run without a Google account. See if it happens again.
Login to your Google account. See if it happens.
Do another factory reset, but this time, login to your Google account and restore all your apps.
