All the very interesting information are in sticky here on the Q&A section or in the General section...

Better off unrooting bud. Easier in the long run.

Nothing is simpler than just flashing the files when available with fast boot. Its usually only a couple days til files are out...or even a flashable stock version.

No you dont need to relock bootloader when you update it relocks it but its easy to unlock i did it manually and it only took me 5 minutes

[Q] Will My Nexus 5 Get OTA Updates After Rooting?

Hello XDA Users,
I want to know that will my Nexus get system updates after rooting and unlocking the bootloader of it or I have to install them manually with recovery.
Thank You
You will have to side load them. This will most likely break root.

[Q] Question about rooting

Hi, i'm new to the xda community (this is my first post actually) and wasn't sure if this is the right place to post my question...sorry in advance...
I would like to root my Nexus 5 and wanted to know if there's a way to do so without unlocking the bootloader. My version is 4.4.2.
I recently came across the toolkit by wugfresh and I saw you could root the device separately - is it possible to root the device without unlocking using this toolkit?
thanks!
Questions belong in the Q&A thread.

Don't use toolkits. Read the stickies. It's really easy after a bit of reading!

no. you have to unlock the bootloader. after unlocking and rooting, you can relock it. fastboot oem unlock unlocks the bootloader via fastboot, and fastboot oem lock relocks the bootloader.

Next time post questions in Q&A.
1. Don`t use Toolkits as sooner or later you will run into trouble and you will not be able to fix it.
2, Rooting without unlocking the bootloader is impossible on the N5.
3. Read the first 5 threads in the General section well, then you know the basics that will prevent you from bricking your device.

Root for Verzion 5.0

Will 5.0 bring a root method to the Verizon Moto G to the ones with locked bootloaders?
please, dont make a double-thread or another thread about lollipop doubts
anyway here is:
Chainfire has released an easy rooting kit for MOTOROLA variants. Grab it for your Moto G.

Looking in my crystall ball, I believe that it will come unlocked directly from Verizon.
No really - there isnĀ“t even 5.0 for the other variants and thus nobody can know for sure. On the other hand 5.0 brings additional security measures, so there is no reason to believe it will be any easier to root than it was before.
And one more thing - did you see the sticker "NO QUESTIONS in This Forum"? Not only is this question pointless, but it is in the wrong forum as well...

[Q] Is Rooting Android version 4.4.4 possible?

Hello,
Sorry if this question has been asked before. I am used to rooting Samsung phones and this one is new to me. I have tried Weaksauce and I get root fail and it looks like Sunshine does not work on 4.4.4 yet. has anybody been able to root 4.4.4 and can you provide any links or help.
I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
Only way to root 4.4.4 is to be S-OFF and it isn't possible to S-OFF 4.4.4 yet.
For future questions I suggest using the search option as this is a question that is asked at least once a week and a very easy answer to find.
