I am pretty new to this business. I own Sony Xperia SL and its now out of warranty. I definitely need to root and use some good custom ROM.
Can anyone provide me with a good guide on how to unlock(root) it first and then install a good custom ROM on it?
Which are the best custom ROMs designed for this model?

i liked the Honamifity ROM for my SONY Xperia P. As i told earlier that im a newbie, i needed help in rooting nd flashing my phone.
First of all i needed a list of all the softwares that i will have to download according to my firmware version 6.2.A.1.100. I wanted to know if i'll have to put a new Kernel into my phone. The details of my phone are as follows:

As i have very less internal storage i cant play hd games,it needs root access and i am outdated with android platform. It is good to prefer cm12 or android 5 among others.
