I remember my old CM ROM used to have USB host mode working, but I haven't used it for a while. I doubt that it has aptX.

Thanks. I doubted that aptX would be supported.
SO what rom would you recommend, currently I have 4.2.1 stock with latest version of TWRP installed.

Probably not on the top of dev's lists of things to do since there's built in wifi. Though I too have wondered this in case the built in wifi ever dies...

Unlikely that the tablet will power such a USB device since its really not designed or meant to supply power to devices through USB

What i really wanted is to boot backtrack and connect my external wifi that is TP-LINK TL WN722N to our galaxy tab like galaxy note 2. refer to this link http://www.maxters.net/2013/02/aircrack-suite-for-galaxy-note-2/.
It is awesome if we can hack wifi from our tab on the other hand, we can use the external wifi to connect to a long distant wifi.

Since it requires a modified kernel and extra drivers, unless you can convince a kernel developer to do a kernel you are out of luck.

Can the OnePlus One play audio using microUSB port?

As title states, is it possible instead to use the lineout to plug into my car audio?
That depends on how your car plays audio from the device. Many cars with microUsb either expect a mountable external hard drive (no current Android phone will support that mode) or access the phone through MTP mode to find and play audio files. There are other methods too however (like USB sound card - but I'm not sure that works across all phones and drivers)
I have been able to plug in all of my Android phones from the headphone jack to the stereo system with an aux cable, so this won't be any different.

Wow, brilliant indeed. The thing is, if you could use the USB port, you could control the resources from an external player. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Can I please ask what car player will recognize OnePlus One and be able to control it? That would be interesting.
Thanks

The thing is that none of the Android phones are able to work as external hard drive so none of the audioplayers I know would recognize oneplus one to control it. But my alpine receiver is able to control it connected via Bluetooth.

That's not true, see my #2 post. There are many cars supporting MTP mode. As for usb soundcards;
I don't own a USB-soundcard so I can't test if the standard kernel supports such a mode. But if not, it should not be terribly hard to make a custom kernel load the necessary drivers if they exist.

If you claim that no car-radio (you know of) is capable of accessing/handling the OPO that implicitely means that you either didn't know/forgot about MTP or thought it unusuable for the OnePlus.

uhhh, except the method you are using is completely different than USB. USB is far superior in controlling but also audio quality......

[Q] How to use a xBox One Controller?

Hey guys!
I want to buy some kind of tablet and controller holder, but I cant get my controller to work with my tablet.
Does someone know how to connect it properly and use it?
I got one of these OTG cabels.

Pretty sure you can't do that. Only with a 360 controller, and it needs to be a wired one.
Well, thanks kinda disapointing.
But I still got a old PS3 Controller, and its working with most of my games.
Expect the menus in Portal and Half Life 2. Is there a way to fix that? I cant scroll through them
/e
Just found a video showing that the xBox One Controller is compatible with "USB/BT Joystick Center "2015"". I got the App, but my tablet still dont recognize it. Is this just a Shield problem?

The Xbox one controller uses neither USB or Bluetooth, so I find that hard to believe.
Was the guy in the video actually using it on his phone/tablet?

Hey guys!
Just a quick update for everyone who got the same problem.
Looks like the stock rom seriously dislikes the xBox one controller.
So everyone who is willing to flash another ROM. After flashing unoffical CM12.1 the controller is working like a charm with an OTG cable.

No problem, man. Just try to not sound so aggressive next time. Mistakes happen.
So, I am currently a bit confused about this thread. Is it somehow possible on stock or not?
I recently tried the XBox One controller via cable on KitKat stock, but to no avail.
A wireless controller for PC isn't available until later this year, so I don't think this is a valid solution right now.
Xbox One controllers do not transmit data via USB ever.
The usb on the XBO controller is for charging only.
It is a wireless only controller as far as data is concerned.
You will never ever get usb to work because ghe controller does not have that capability with any system. It is an all wireless controller except fof charging.
That is why the guy who said you have to use a wireless pc reciever is correct.
Sorry there is no possible work around as the usb port doesnt physically support data transmission.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
But it is news at all. It is good to know.
Has anybody tried the wireless XBox One so far?

100% untrue. Xbox One Controller works via USB on my Windows 10 computer, no additional drivers. I don't have any wireless adapters or Bluetooth installed.
Unfortunately, this isn't the case with android. Neither USB/Wireless will work without support from Microsoft.

You will find that windows automatically installed drivers for the xbox one pad as it did for me when i plugged it in. due to being a MS device it has its own repository to aquire the driver from and as such may of updated without you even noticing
EDIT: i stand corrected as of windows 10 the driver is bundled into windows, but there is still a driver, its just windows 7 and 8.x users that need to run a driver update to download them, again this would happen when they plug in the pad anyway

That is why the guy who said you have to use a wireless pc reciever is correct. Based on the previous 3 points being totally false this is also likely not accurate
Sorry there is no possible work around as the usb port doesnt physically support data transmission. Where do you even get this information from?? My pc has NO WIRELESS capabilities and works with the Xbox One pad i bought specifically for the PC

Inaccurate statement, you are just the bearer of in correct information
so all that is really needed is for someone to figure out how to port the usb drivers that windows uses for the xbox one pad (which is fully supported over usb on my gaming pc as well) to an android version. I am very tempted to scour the net for any such development already occuring, failing that i will mayb e develop it myself with the people who are developing on the Nvidia tablet who achieved root on it in the first place. I am considering buying one of these devices myself, but i may look to see if a newer version is in the pipeline anytime soon and if there is save my money for that one. if only they had a shield tablet x1 edition like the tv box
No need to keep quoting me.
I was provided and in turn provided inaccurate information.
I apologize.

HDMI USB C dongle suppprt?

I know Google said that there would be no means of mirroring your screen via HDMI. But I'm curious. Is that something that be added in with mods? Or is the hardware simply not there?
I don't know much about these things.

OTG USB Hub not recognizing mouse + keyboard.

Hello, I purchased a Dodocool 3 USB 3.0 + HDMI + External Power hub for my OnePlus 7 Pro. The adapter works fine on my Note 9. However, I can only get HDMI to work with my 1P7P. I have OTG Enabled. Any advice? Would really like to use the hub / monitor / keyboard and mouse. One I use a standalone type c to a OTG adapter keyboard and mouse works, just not with the hub.
Thank you in advance!
USB storage is detected on USB 3.0 ports just not the mouse and kb.
I have the same issue and I opened some threads around the web looking for other feedbacks.
XDA
OnePlus Forum
Reddit
Android Central
The problem seems to be common on hubs that deliver video out. I tried using the original OTG cable paired with a simple USB3.0 4 ports hub and all the devices are properly recognized. Instead, complex hubs are recognized as a "storage" device, no matter what you attach to them (but storage + HDMI works on several hubs).
I posted a similar question on Reddit. No answers yet, I basically want to know if Dex style hubs work with op7p. I currently use my old v20 with HDMI USB mouse and keyboard with power delivery, but it doesn't work with my v30 even tho USB to HDMI works. I want to buy this phone, but don't want to make the same mistake twice. I like using moonlight to stream my PC for gaming.
Dang, yea - I wonder if it is an issue with usb 3.0? It detects drives attached and HDMI just cannot talk to kb or mouse. I am going to keep poking around the system.
I wonder if it is a kernel level issue?
I fixed it! Flash this kernel! https://forum.xda-developers.com/on.../kernel-kirisakura-1-0-0-op7-pro-aka-t3933916
So just to clarify, HDMI, USB keyboard/mouse, SD scard, and power delivery all work together?

Yep 100% after flashing the kernel.
Can confirm, same here! It's just that kernel though, other kernels don't seem to work.

I'd back up via Twrp then flash the kernel.
Sent from my OnePlus 7 Pro using XDA Labs
Is there a Kernel that would also work for the OP6T?
Just installed twrp, rooted my new and fully updated OP7 Pro and then flashed the kernel but the result is the same.
USB-c to USB works
USB-c to hdmi works
USB-c to HDMI/USB/SDCARD/JACK/RJ45 - Only HDMI Works.
Anyone got any suggestions to where I might have gone wrong?
Does anyone have another solution other than flashing the kernel ? i dont want to root my phone and i really need to use my device to connect hdmi+usb port+audio jack at the same time .
my huawei mate 20 just work fine . but oneplus 7 pro doesn't .
