[Q] HTC One Mini - Soft Bricked - Help. - HTC One Mini

I've been searching on here for the past 2 weeks for a solution to my phone problem, and have yet to find one. I bought the HTC One Mini from Amazon, it's from Spain, and I'm in the US. I didn't know this before I got into rooting this, and I've rooted 2 of my own HTC One M7's, (one TMO and one ATT) and a HTC Evo back in high school and can't manage to fix this. I wasn't aware of the new partition layout prior to me trying to flash a new recovery, and it wiped my OS, and all that ****. I can get to my bootloader, and my recovery, and have flashed a fixed recovery. I'm S-On and Unlocked @ HTCdev. HBoot 2.22. How do I flash either a stock rom or a rooted rom to my **** now? If anyone could help I would appreciate it.
Basically:
I can't use ADB sideload for some odd reason, it always says my device is not connected.
I've updated all the drivers, with Android SDK, I think HTC Sync might be still installed.
I have TWRP 2.7.0.5, and I'm pretty sure I grabbed the right stock rom: i can't post the link apparently, it's tr1gg3r84's pure stock one.
About to try flashing it with:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash rom.zip (renaming it, not just putting rom.zip)
do i need to flash the boot.img too? if so how?
The sooner the better on replies, this is my only day off and I'm trying to fix it.
Also got a skype if that would work.

you need this recovery twrp 2.7.0.8 http://mdmower.cmphys.com/twrp-m4/ for new partition layout. but if you cant flash in fastboot, either buy an OTG cable or try flashify from playstore, once you have the new recovery installed, download a rom and flash

twrp 2.7.0.5 does the same, but will try that.
i've been lookign for the OTG cable locally and my last resort is a radio shack.
i can't even boot up, it just bootloops, it stays at the white htc screen.
been trying to flash a rom, but it doesn't seem to work lol.
i'm going to try a new one i just got too.
i guess i have to use rebootRUU to do this? I can't drag n drop cuz it doesn't recognize my **** i don't think.

So can you not even boot into recovery?
Try rebooting to bootloader
Then connect phone to pc, open command prompt where your fastboot is and type fastboot devices. It should identify your device

Are you running windows 8? And maybe try a female to female usb adaptor if they
are around locally should do the same thing with you usb cable.

Looked at a walmart, best buy, and checked online, there's nothing local. Unless I want to wait for the OTG to get here, I'm just gonna have to find the Stock Recovery, which I can't find.

I've found more things that could probably be of use, I really need this help guys.
I can't use ADB still, in device manager it says One Mini.
My bootloader now says there's not an OS.
The computer recognizes it to a point, but I can't load it on the computer still.
HTC Sync hasn't helped. Downloaded it earlier.
I have the whole SDK, and checked my version of ADB.
Even ran it in administrator.
I know it's not the fastboot or adb because i rooted my m7 right before this one.
I could use a stock recovery, but can't find one.

suppose, but you still have the problem of getting that on to the phone.
if your phone is found by device manager...by rights it should find your phone when its in fastboot usb mode.
try this adb installer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
or see if you can get a dual usb like this http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Andro...d=1400304457&sr=8-2&keywords=sandisk+dual+usb easier to find in store than an otg cable

[Q] - I believe I messed up rooting my phone

I just wanted to say this and see if anyone can tell me if I did it right or wrong. I used the this program to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604677
Now my phone still works and everything seems fine, but none of the apps that need SU or root will run. When I reboot my phone into the boot loader it says both tampered and unlocked at the top. Anytime I try to boot into recovery which I thought I had installed CWM but it just trys to load the android recovery and errors out. Then it reboots normally and wants to send the error log to htc.
So I assume I jacked it up somewhere along the way. Is there anyway to return it to stock and try again? Since I would swear I did every step listed there.
Oh and on a sidenote, how in the name of god do I get rid of the tmobile bootloader image and sound. I keep forgetting about it and rebooting my phone at work.
dont worry the unlocked and tampered are normal
It sounds like you dont have CWM installed.
Download the .img for CWM and flash it in fastboot, Then flash the superboot and you should be fine

Oh good, then I at least got it halfway right this time. But what choice to you use to flash them in fastboot? Or do you mean push them over from the PC to the phone?
download the CWM recovery img file, place in in your adb folder
boot into fastboot and in cmd window type fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
Check out the thread by torxx in the Android Development section of HTC One S forums...he has a pretty in-depth step-by-step interview. If you get CWM recovery installed, you can boot up, transfer a ROM over, go back into CWM and flash it. If you have problems from there...azzle should be able to help you
Nah we're here to help either way man. Just let us know

Thank you, I finally got a moment to sit down at my pc and do everything. Root is there and so is SU so everything is fine now expect one thing but it maybe just my phone. Whenever I use any other USB cable but the one they gave me in the box it's hit or miss if it will even see it?
This can be the issue with non genuine parts, You should always buy OEM, However that doesnt mean it has to be HTC.
I have several USB cables, From HTC, Samsung, Blackberry and they all work flawlessly.

Yeah the cable at work is just from tigerdirect down the road. It works if I have it up at an angle or the one on my home pc is weird cause it connects disconnects about 30 times. But oh well I shall find me some newer cables.

[Q] Fastboot broke my USB need Help

After trying to unlock my phone and flashing stock rom through CWM I accidently downloaded the rom for the at&t model. I own the sprint model. After flashing the incorrect boot img and radio img the fastboot just spat out errors so closed the CMD and booted up the phone. No longer does the USB work i have tried several computers none detecting it in either bootloader or within the android os. The android os doesnt even ask to mount it it just charges. Any help would really be aprreciated!

OK firstly never close CMD when it is doing stuff that can cause damage to your PC, device etc. It can cause serious damage
I haven't tried this myself but you could try using a different USB connector. If that still doesn't recognise your device then it is a hardware problem or you have messed up you device.
If it works then download the sprint version and flash.
Hope this helped,

Wait what ?
So you wanted to unlock to flash stock ROM with cwm recovery but you used fastboot to flash boot radio etc .img's ?

Transfer a stockish ROM (can be deodexed & rooted, doesn't really matter) via WiFi and flash in CWM.

CWM Is no longer there after i restored it I was able to flash a stock ICS through normal recovery but the usb is still not working.
From a powered off state, if you hold VOL down and then press POWER, can you access download mode?
If yes, and you connect it to your computer (I'm going to assume you are using a windows computer), can you hear the device connected sound? It should get detected.

[Q] stuck in boot loop / pc not recognizing phone with adb

Hi,
I tried to install a ROM but it got stuck on the white screen with the HTC logo. I tried to do factory reset but it gets stuck again. I don't have clockwork recovery, and I rooted my phone using adb and ace recovery, which is not on my phone. I only temporarily used it to flash my rom, stupid I know. :-/ When I connect my phone to the PC it is not being recognized. I tried putting the PD98IMG.zip file on my sd card but it just says that it the image is incorrect. Is there anything I can do? Is this fixable?

I just went through some similar stuff. What type of computer are you using? PC/Mac? Are you using the original cable? What troubleshooting steps for connectivity have you done? Different cable? USB port?
Can you access the bootloader screen when you pull the battery and reboot while holding the volume button down and holding the power button? By accident, I found that the phone and PC will communicate with each other when "Fastboot" is selected on the bootloader screen (you should hear a connection chime and it should change to "Fastboot USB") except I could only get fastboot commands to work. The good news is that should be enough to flash a boot or whatever else you need to get back in business.

That's great you're getting the fastboot usb message! As long as you're not using a hub or some other usb extender, any functioning usb port on the pc will do. Again, I learned this by accident (ie the hard way) and found that in this mode, only fastboot commands will work, not adb. (on a side note, and others should correct me here, adb and fastboot work together when the phone is rebooted normally or in recovery but not in the bootloader screen)
Great test for connection: fastboot devices (if you get anything else except a serial # with fastboot after it, then close the cmd window, unplug, and pull battery/reboot to bootloader), fastboot reboot-bootloader. Once it reboots back into the bootloader screen, make sure you press the power button while fastboot is selected and you should again hear the chime and see fastboot usb come up. This is your phone saying it's ready to accept your fastboot commands.
Do let us know how it works.

As far as I know, fastboot only works when your phone is in fastboot mode. ADB works in recovery or system.

Flash a rooted stock ROM from recovery. Whether you have root is in your system partition. Whether your bootloader is unlocked is in your bootloader. Whether you have a custom recovery is in your recovery partition. Three separate things.

I'm guessing that you're trying to flash a PD98IMG.zip or a RUU. You need an actual stock rooted ROM, probably from here on the forum. Or just flash Android Revolution HD, an optimized rooted stock ROM, also from here on the forum in the development section. For more specific steps read the Ace Think Tank linked in my signature.

ok, got it. Thank you again
Dear friends,
I have this problem: I got a brand new TCL S720 and the Google Play did not work, being a known rom issue. So, before doing anything, I've managed to make a backup of it's original rom with MTK Droid tools whichI supose it did it well. Then I've tried to install a CWM recovery to try a custom rom for it. The CWM recovery seemed to install succesfully but I didn't manage to install the new rom. If I remember well, it stucked on boot logo. Then tried to revert at it's original stock recovery, managed to have the phone back as it was in initial state, but doing more tries, It remained stucked on boot logo. The problem is that my computer doesn't recognise it anymore, when I connect it to USB it tries to install MTP usb driver but even before the driver was installed well, now it refuse to install, like the driver is not good or the proper driver doesn't exist. So the only thing I can do is to boot on stock recovery but even I tried to copy the original rom update.zip on external SD and to flash the phone using install update from sd card in recovery mode, It doesn't find the external sd card. So I'm stuck here, the computer doesn't detect the phone to try flashing it with SP flash tool or MTK Droid tool, and I also can't flash it from sd card. Have you any idea how to make it work again?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Did I Just Screw Up My Phone?

Phone: HTC ONE XL
Carrier: Rogers LTE
Hey guys,
I have a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. Any help is much appreciated. I got my phone a year ago and I rooted it and unlocked it immediately. I removed the stock ROM and put Clean Rom 4.5 on it. Today, I realized my phone could be manually updated to jelly bean, so i wanted to install CM 10.1.
During installation, I just put the boot.img of the Rom in my folder that contained adb, fastboot, etc and I was at the step of loading recovery to install the rom, my phone could not get into the recovery and just kept restarting over and over again. I can still get into the bootloader. I read online to try and type "fastboot erase cache", but that isnt working because my computer can no longer recognize the phone. When I go into bootloader and into fastboot, my computer makes the sound like the USB is recognized but when I type the command "adb devices", no device is showing up.
I'm guessing that my first step to hopefully solving this issue is to find a way to have my device show up when I type "adb devices" but my attempts so far have been futile.
Key Points:
- Can't get past HTC boot screen (keeps looping)
- can still access bootloader
- no device seen when command "adb devices" has been typed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I should add that when this occured (the looping), I tried to flash "recovery clockwork touch 5.8.2.7" and I was accidentally following a guide meant for the European HTC One X. The recovery image that I should have used (and did use to flash Clean Rom) is "TWRP 2.2.0 evita".

ADB is a program that gives you control of your phone "terminal" or "command line" remotely. It requires you to be booted into your ROM with USB debugging turned on so ofcourse it won't show any devices while in bootloader.
There are at least 20 threads that ask this same question. How do I know? I've answered at least that amount just myself. Please use the search function in the future prior to asking. I'm so tired of wasting time answering the same questions over and over.
Download TWRP 2.3.3.1 <- latest version that works properly without any issues with any ROMs
Check MD5 <- If you don't have an md5 checker google and download one. This will verify the download is good.
Put your phone in bootloader/fastboot
fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Select recovery from bootloader menu
Flash your rom from recovery.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I read up on ADB after i posted the thread. I learnt that you can't use ADB commands in the bootloader. I've been trying to flash the recovery but i keep getting "waiting for device". (regardless of what command i try). I don't think its the USB drivers because I downloaded the latest HTC drivers (in fact there is a thread about the latest USB drivers for HTC, which is where I downloaded from) and there isn't any exclamation points in device manager. Not really sure what the issue is, any additional help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I just install the latest HTC sync. It installs the latest driver.
Also, try to avoid using a USB hub if you are.
Make sure HTC Sync isn't running when you are using fastboot/adb
Worst case scenario, you could always create a VM or something to get it going.

Alright, following a video tutorial (http://forums.team-nocturnal.com/showthread.php/1050) and factory reset the phone. My SD card is wiped clean but I can mount it through the TWRP recovery. Since I don't have a ROM now, I'm debating what I should do: a) Go back to Clean ROM 4.5, b) Install CM 10.1 Nightlies or c) Install Clean ROM 6.5.
***TAMPERED***
***UNLOCKED***
S-ON
HBOOT 1.11.0000
Is there anything I should know before attempting to flash CM 10.1/Clean ROM 6.5 or should I return to Clean ROM 4.5.
Thanks for the helps. Really appreciate it.
Either should work fine. Cleanrom will have somewhat bettery battery life.

another good tip is that when you are in fastboot mode and write "adb devices" not will work because adb will just work when your phone is turned on inside the android, and fastboot not will work if you arent in mode fastboot

[Q] HTC One mini: no Operation System, no StockROM?

Hey Folks!
I got the following problem...
I have unlocked the bootloader of my HTC One mini. After that it doesn't reboot.
It's possble to enter bootloader and recovery but adb commands doesn't work...
The newest htc drivers are installed. adb tells: "no device found"
What can i do now? No system to boot and no possibility to run adb commands.
I dont have found a StockRUU for this phone to make a recovery.
This device is a german HTC One mini from Vodafone Germany.
Thanks alot for help!
Try flash via Fastboot. ADB requires the phone to be switched on
Hi. I cant install ROM via fastboot. i have downloaded cm11.zip and when i try "fastboot update cm11.zip" it says:
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
So do you have a link to a stock rom (RUU) from vodafone germany?
Or what can i do to get this phone run. Please help. Thanks!
There is no German RUU. They're is only a at&t US RUU available. why try cm11? it isn't complete yet. have you tried flashing Magio or one of the stock roms? And have you flashed the boot.img from the rom zip also?
SERIOUSLY PEOPLE STOP FLASHING STUFF TO YOUR $500 PHONES WITHOUT READING EVERYTHING ON XDA FIRST. MAKE NANDROID BACKUPS AND READ!

Hi RuffBuster,
currently the phone is unlocked and tempered. But when i enter the bootloader it shows "S-ON"
Its not possible to install CM11 on the phone, because its a ZIP File and that must be on the "SD Card"
I am not able to change the CID for other ROMS. I have downloaded the ROM from cingular,
but it doesnt installs - i think its because the CID is set on Vodafone Germany...
What should i do? I cant copy any ROM on the phone because it's not mountable to the PC.
Do you have a good idea what i can do?
When i try the following: "fastboot flash boot.img" or "fastboot update boot.img"
it says:
C:\adb>fastboot update boot.img
EOCD not found, not Zip
error:
C:\adb>fastboot flash boot.img
unknown partition 'boot.img'
error: cannot determine image filename for 'boot.img'
has ADB worked before? What windows are you using? your CID shouldn't matter if you use one of the WWE stock builds.

That is wrong syntax, the command must be
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and not fastboot flash boot.img

İ have Do that but nothing happened.
Before I do that I got to install the ROM, right?
And the problem on that is that I can't copy the zip to my phone...
Any idea how to solve that?
Have you tried the command "ADB devices" does this show your device connected? also are you using windows 7? You can use the "push" command to copy the rom zip to your phone. or if you have a OTG cable you can use a USB flash drive and install from that.

If you are running Winsows 8 or 8.1 there are no drivers i guess and ADB will not work because of that.
If you´ve got the chance to use another windows version try this.
And read about adb sideload to push the rom zip file to the phone to be able to flash it in TWRP.

I kinda had the same issue with ADB/windows a few month back......see from post 5 on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2587477
Try boot in to TWRP recovery...
Then ADB push your Rom zip & latest SuperSu zip to /data/local
In TWRP look for the /data/local folder. Flash the rom zip then the supersu zip
(i would suggest flashing one of Tr1gg3r84’s Roms as they are stable and up to date)
Hope this helps, if it does thank nelvinchi as it was him who helped me

Hi. The Problem is, that adb cannot detect the device so I can't push files.
"C:\adb>adb push revone /data/local
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device not found"
Do you have the same problem before?
your ADB isn't setup right. What HTC drivers are you using? I used the driver's that installed using the phone when htc sync manager connects thru USB cable. Maybe try different drivers and make sure htc sync manager is disabled while connecting to ADB. Also I'm sure you need java SDK installed to use ADB, I may be wrong. Search Google for a proper ADB installation guide. And maybe you need to run command prompt with windows administration rights.
it just sounds like your ADB setup is wrong. I'm not an expert with this. But if you keep having this issue invest in a OTG cable and install from flash drive.

Hi. So when I buy the OTG cable, what can I do with that?
I can plug a usb storage but how should I install a Rom from it?
Do I see the usb storage on recovery when I plug it via USB OTG cable?
Thanks

not sure about CWM, but with TWRP you can install from a USB flash drive or copy zip to phone and install from there. I've done this myself. The cables can be bought cheap from eBay.
I think you could also use a female to female USB adaptor and put that on your USB sync cable to turn it into a OTG cable. This would be a very cheap option but untested by me, so maybe stick with the normal OTG cable.
Also from my tests only flash drives are supported, not USB hard drives.
BUT... I just thought you might still have to use ADB to flash the boot.img file from the zip. But it may work without doing so... Maybe... Have a look at triggers roms maybe you can get away without needing to flash boot.img. try asking trigger about this.
your best bet is to try following one of the ADB guides on Google to fix your ADB installation.
