I'm just curious as to what recovery system this one comes stock with? Considering it's not going to be like ones from Samsung ( THANK GOD! ), HTC, etc... If anyone's seen it, I'd love to know what you think about it.

Yes, you just need an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery to be able to flash Roms.

why exactly do i have to flash fastboot.img ? is it actually necessary ?
do i have to flash fastboot.img -every-single-time i want to flash a rom ?
sorry for asking, i've done some research and i simply couldn't find any kind of answer to my question.
i haven't actually done anything yet, because i know from experience that you don't want to mess with this stuff if you don't understand absolutely everything. i had a desire z before i got an HTC One S, and before i could just flash away with roms, taking my usual precautions like wiping of course.
Correctly it's named BOOT.IMG
Yes, if you're not s-off you have to flash it everytime you flash a ROM... otherwise you don't need it

So if I have s-off I don't need to flash boot.IMG. because I've flashed two different ROMs and I've been getting no vibrations

No vibrations is most likely an hardware issue or rom setting.

The boot.img contains (mostly) the kernel. If you are S-OFF, the boot.img file contained within the ROM's zip will be flashed during the installation of the ROM in recovery. If you are not S-OFF and you want to go with the boot.img (kernel) contained in the ROM, you have to fastboot flash the boot.img file separately.
As a side note - you don't have to flash the boot.img if you are not S-OFF. In fact, if you have a custom kernel you may not want to (or perhaps the kernel has not changed - as with many of the CM nightlies...)

From what I've read it is a problem on a decent amount of one s phones where the vibrator module flakes out. If the sense ROM I'm gonna try doesn't work then I'm.sending it back in

Hi everybody,
This is my first thread in XDA Developers website, I'm an Android developer and I love stock Android. I have a rooted S3 and I would like to flash a stock Android rom on it for the first time. I found out the following thread which has the stock Android rom from the Google edition Galaxy S4 (★★★ [ROM][JB4.2.2] StockDroid v6 [16/07][I9505GUEUAMFD] ★★★), I would like to download and flash it to my S3, can I do it?
If not, can anyone suggest a good stock Android rom that I can flash to my S3.
Thanks and regards

Yes, I am a developer, but that doesn't mean I know everything, I'm good in developing apps, but I'm not good with flashing and custom roms and all these things.
I'm trying to learn these things from this forums, that's why I joined today.
Hello everyone
Before 2-3 weeks my beloved phone was fallen into my sink with water flowing
It works well, but the USB port now seems to work not good.. I've tried it on my PC and one another PC with different cables but it does not connect
So I wanted yesterday to make an update to 4.2.2 via Kies but as I mentioned it does not recognise it and odin too..
I thought to use mobile odin, but unfortunately, I went to stock (without root) before a few weeks..
So my question is, is it possible to root my phone without a PC?
Can I simply root it via stock recovery or would it brick then?

I found a way too root with an app, but its for exynos4 devices only and since the I9105P is broadcomm (not sure if I'm right) this method is not possible

Oh I'm sorry. I meant that you can root without PC (usually people roots without PC), but you need to have CWM to root your device and to get it you need to have PC and flash it with Odin.
And BTW do you have Kies installed or do you have drivers for you phone on your PC?
EDIT: And those CWMs and Kernels doesn't work on S II Plus.

Just had to boot my PC
OK ...
Here is the text :
"paste"
Download xxx-signed.zip kernel matching your ROM
Put the previously downloaded xxx-signed.zip file on your external sd card
Boot into stock recovery (volume up+home+power)
Select "apply update from external storage".
Now select the xxx-signed.zip file you copied in previous step
You are rooted + new PhilZ-cwm6 kernel with CWM6
Can tell you it worked like a charm for me

Maybe right direction, but unfortunately not that what I'm searching for. It says ' Also, a recovery that uses "OpenRecoveryScript", such as TWRP, is recommended. You may try it on CWMR, but it may not be able to flash anything depending on the build.'
Since I have stock recovery, this method isn't possible
But before a few hours I find out that my stock recovery is useless too, cause of that open android which is lying, with an red triangle and black exclamation mark, which appears every time when I choose a option
I believe the only solution is to get my beloved to manufacturer for a repair hope I still have warranty although there's water damage
Or knows anyone more solutions?

Sorry for spamming, but is there anyone who knows a solution maybe?
The only thing I want is stock 4.2.2
I got an OTA Update, but the installation failed everytime I re-downloaded it
I'm googling since many weeks but still no luck
I need a little guidance here please. There seems to be several different ways to root the LG G3, but a lot of them are for the International or T-Mobile unlocked G3's.
So for the ATT G3, which method do we use to Root ? Stump ?
And to install TWRP Recovery ? I read about something named Bump'd ?
My main concern is, I won't get this phone if it's ike the nightmare of ROM'ing like the old ATT Galaxy S4 was, with bizarre things like Safestrap, and or the old ATT HTC One X with .boot img files you needed to installed in fastboot, etc...ugh I want nothing to do with that :silly:
My last few phones, OnePlus One, and ATT HTC One M8, were a breeze and easy to root, and custom Recovery installed normally, no tricks or weird Bump's or Safestraps.
You didn't look hard enough
