Problem unlocking bootloader, please help me! - HTC Sensation

Hi.
I recently acquired a Sensation and have been attempting to unlock the bootloader. I followed every step on HTCDev succesfully but now I am stuck on Step 9. Once I attempt to send my unlock code to my phone, it does nothing past 0 KB.
Few information in case it might help:
On boot menu my phone says:
**LOCKED**, Hboot 1.29. S-OFF
Fastboot also recognize my device (checked with fastboot devices command).
I know of the other way to unlock bootloader but honestly it's way too complicated and don't have the cable needed.
I would absolutely love some help.

your device is already on S-OFF
why do you want to unlock the bootloader via htcdev site?

HTCdev doesn't do unlock of bootloader automatically
they will just provide steps/step by step guide to how to do unlock process
i guess you need to register first..to do anything with your bootloader
give the details of the phone (when it asks ...i never knew because im already SOFF )
and get the unlock of bootloader done
right now there is no other unlock method other than HTCdev unlock...(remember it may void your warranty)
Also for SOFF via juopunutbear method here is the guide

Well i am registered but i when i press the button begin unlock bootloader nothing happened :s I will give it another try tommorow
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
HTC bootloader unlocked is succeeded!!
Can i now install recovery?? and in the tutorial for getting s-off with the wire trick, it says that you must have a unsecured boot.img < how do you get this??
sorry for being a noob ;P
oke now i have the bootloader unlucked, but when i'm trying to install clockwork recovery i get this:
Checking pg51img
then the phone reboots in bootloader
its checking again the pg51img and then it says this parsing pg51img and its goes back to the main screen of the bootloader :S

Make sure to name the file PG58IMG if you are using windows and keep it in the root of sdcard.
And boot into bootloader.. It should detect now.
If it still didn't work then flash the recovery.img via fast boot. I believe you already have fastboot/adb setup as you did unlocked your bootloader.
Get the image from here and keep it in your adb folder.

[Q] Incorrect CID after s-off

I unlocked my device via the HTC bootloader unlock token, rooted via all in one kit, then I attained s-off using the wire trick. Now upon boot it reads S-off, but it also says locked where it previously read tampered, unlocked. I don't have a recovery to go to to flash anything, so I'm not sure how to proceed now.
After restart, I go into recovery, it then states CID incorrect! Update fail! Press Power to reboot
How can I flash a recovery/rom now?

[Q] Return HTC Desire S to factory

Hi there, firstly i apologise if this has already been asked, i am looking to put my phone back to factory state as i have to send it back to HTC under warranty as it is now broken my current state is as follows:
UNLOCKED
SAGA PVT SHIP S ON RL
HBOOT 2.00.0002
RADIO 3822.10.08.04_M
eMMC boot
my recover is 4ext Recovery ver 2.2.7 RC5
if somebody could provide me with a step by step guide or show me where to find one it would be hugely appreciated!
Goodbye you pretty virgin LOCKED bootloader :'(
Sorry mate, all you can do is go down to an old hboot to cover the unlocked or relocked state...
Oh and if you want the old HTC ROM, you must relock and run a RUU.
ok can you maybe give me a step by step guide to achieve this?
Make sure adb is enabled in the phones developer settings.
Then:
On PC with adb set up enter the following commands:
adb shell
reboot bootloader
then when phone reboots to bootloader, make sure it is in fastboot mode
enter on PC:
fastboot oem lock
Then your Phones Bootloader should show RELOCKED and you can run a RUU that fits your Phones CID/Region since you don't have super CID.
are you able to supply me with a link to find a list of ruu's

hi im sorry but im struggling to find the correct ruu for my phone is there anyway that you can steer me in the right direction - i downloaded the saga vodafone uk one but it hasnt worked
You need to find a RUU correct to your location and service provider, if branded.
If have used the correct RUU, based on the above, then you need to post the error that is showing up. You may need to create a gold card or lower your misc_version. Steps on how to do both can be found in this thread.
I USED THIS ONE RUU_Saga_Vodafone_UK_1.32.161.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.15_M_release_179398_signed.exe
I get the bootloader screen, it says erasing data, sending, then updating signature, then i get error (140) bootloader version error, the rom update utility cannot update your android phone, please get the correct rom update utility and try again.
This issue i have is that there isnt a desire s option in the list of ruu's !

That isn't the issue. The codename for the Desire S is "Saga". As you can see, all of the RUUs listed are for the Desire S.
Your misc_version may be higher than the version of the RUU you're trying to run. Follow the steps under the heading "Modifying the version of your phone" in the thread I linked you to above and see if that works.

Hi been reading this thread, so is it correct that if you have unlocked your bootloader and rooted that you can no longer return to manufacturer?
After unlocking the bootloader you can re-lock it and return to stock, although your bootloader will contain the message "RELOCKED" which is evidence of having rooted your phone, and can't be removed. You could run a pre-2.3.5 RUU which doesn't show the lock status of your bootloader and hope that the manufacturer won't notice and won't write off your warranty.
This is why S-OFF is much better than unlocking your bootloader, since you can root and also return to stock without affecting the lock status of your bootloader.

[Q] Phone stuck in a boot loop, plus other problems

My phone, HTC Sensation XE, is S-ON, on default ROM, and has HBOOT 1.29.000. Needless to say, my phone is not rooted.
The phone is on a boot loop ever since I last took off the battery and placed it back. I sometimes get a message that my Android system is getting upgraded, terminating with an error "System UI has stopped working" before the phone restarts itself again.
I don't know if this is a hardware issue or software.
How do I get my phone to a normal state? I don't mind rooting the phone if I need to for the purpose of installing default/custom ROM. But I don't know if this would be possible because I only have access to boot screen at present.
Please suggest me suitable solutions. Thank you

I looked into the thread you suggested. For my region and CID, I was not able to get the RUU from the thread. What I could get was this - an OTA zip file that matches my software version exactly (3.33.720.106) from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764025
How do I proceed further with this zip file, since I don't have an executable RUU file?
I am hoping you can be of help -)
(The zip file contains -- META-INF, patch, system, firmware.zip, fotaBoot, version.txt)

When I try and do SOFF using KGS utility, it restarts my phone because my phone is not HTC dev unlocked. (My phone's motherboard was replaced some time ago, and so I cannot unlock my phone.)
ganeshp's one click root requires SOFF. I can't SOFF using his technique because temp_root.bat doesn't work in bootloader screen.
I am in trouble, and don't look like getting out of it

@ganeshp's one click root doesn't require htc dev unlock (meaning no prequisite permanent root; the guide has steps for temproot).
You just need one boot.
Do this: get the boot.img of your current (stock rom) and type fastboot boot boot.img.

I know its a long shot, but you should try doing a factory-reset from the bootloader, just in case it works.
Otherwise run an RUU from the bootloader.
firstly Itsakash he can't S-OFF because the device must be booted to the OS
secondly Far_SighT the command is fastboot flash boot boot.img
thirdly as raz0rf1sh suggested factory reset is a good idea and
fourthly jiteshgawali can you post your bootloader details?
It really is great to see your input guys.
@Far_SighT: I have tried doing the temp_root method, but it doesn't work for me. I could successfully run temp_root.bat just once (luckily, even in boot loop), but next when I tried doing the Juopunutbear SOFF it missed detecting my phone (again, because of the bootloop)
I don''t know where I can get a boot.img file from; for what it's worth, I could only get an OTA zip file for my region/CID from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764025
@raz0rf1sh: I have done factory reset several times from bootloader, doesn't help friend. I don't have an RUU for my region/CID, all I have is an OTA zip file for my phone from the link I have specified right above this. Can't seem to get an RUU for firmware base 3.33, and CID HTC__038.

For stock rom go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923629.
Get the rom and extract boot.img.
Then use the earlier command I posted.
Yes I haven't seen Indian version ruu until now ..so ruu is out of question AFAIK
Now the factory reset over boot loader should help if you have software problems but as per your replies it didn't work it seems
Tried HTC Dev unlock ? Even if the motherboard is replaced its worth a try
If htcdev unlock failed
Then try to go to recovery first ..from boot loader and if you went to recovery properly let me know
The other solution I propose is try to do change the cid ..even on locked bootloader sometimes it works
Try these commands one by one
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
Then
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then check cid using this command
fastboot getvar cid
If cid changed that's a good sign

I said fastboot boot boot.im instead of fastboot flash boot booti.img as the previous one boots the rom with with the new image but doesn't attempt to write that to the boot partition. Hence it might get him a much needed boot to s-off.

just install 3.33 universal from here

but don't worry you can always use a RUU.exe
that's not a problem at all
