Hi all,
I am new to this forum and i am really expecting some help from you guys.
Samsung recently launched ICS update for galaxy S2 in INDIA and i have been trying to update my phone via Kies but every time when kies is done with all the downloads and this screen called "Downloading...Do not turn off the Target" comes on the phone the phone gets disconnected and Kies gives the message that it cant detect the phone and i should remove battery and restart, whereas phone get stucks at that same Downloading message screen. This problem comes over and over again and everytime i restart my phone it starts normally with my 2.3.6 firmware.
What can be the possible cause and solution for this?

Hey
1 of all....Kies damn sucks
I think you should go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ and search for I9100
scroll down and take the ics 4.0.3 for india
Flash it via odin and it should work
if you dont have any experience with odin search here in teh xda for an tutorial
Tell me if it worked

Ok I have the same problem. Only I checked the performance monitor for network activity, and there's a process; kiespdlr.exe that's actually downloading, but it's been like this for a while now, and there's no progress bar or anything so I don't know if the phone's actually frozen or not!! Should I wait or restart the phone?
Pleaaaaase help!! I'm scared stiff that I might brick my phone!! I just bought it!!

I hard bricked my SAMSUNG galaxy s2 T989 flashing a rom. Called t-Mobile told them it died when I tried to update with Kies and they sent me a new one. Soft bricked it multiple times if I had to guess I'd say about five times also testing themes i made for twrp I got suck a recovery boot loop (just showed the twrp curtain over and over). Luckaly for me I was able to put it in download mode and flash twrp again with Odin. Did that three times.

Bricked my Galaxy Y while i tried to flash a sound mod. Flashed it back to stock rom with odin and it worked like a charm again!
Is it really "bricking" if you can fix it? I'm pretty sure bricked = forever. That's why it's called "bricked."
LOL

#1 definition in Urban Dictionary:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bricked said:
To render your computer useless, as useless as a brick.
Usually the result of tampering with the insides and doing irreversible damage. Bricking your hardware leaves you with a new paperweight. Can be the end effect of a faulty flash or firmware update, a modification (mod) gone bad or being struck by lighting, to name a few.

Bricked does mean forever dead. There is no such thing as a soft brick...that is a boot loop.
i too bricked my allwinner A10 tablet so many times as this tablet is for testing purpose only
of course, YES
I have owned a Motorola Droid 1, 2, and 3 and I have yet to brick any of them.
/me crosses fingers
I bricked my phone for a few month ago -.-
There was a Bump on the Case and my Provider told me i have lost the guarantee,
so i bought a new Phone -.- This sucks
I can say yes.
But it's not an android device. Motorola e398 and rokr e1, i bricked them many times, almost dead, even i need to force them into flash mode, dead again, re flash again, again and again, until i sold them both, few years ago

Hi.
First of all, all help is appreciated.
My sis's Tab (p5100) shut down and cannot boot. I can't even see Samsung logo. The most weird thing is that it has not been modified. It was running stock Samsung Android ICS, and never anything else. No root, no modifications.
Please, help!
And, it is charged (if anyone has objections).
