[Q] Need Help Please

I have a question about my phone. I'm running a custom ROM and the update for Gingerbread is out. Now since my phone was in my pocket I didn't realize the message popped up to update it and now it's downloading the new update. Can I stop it? If so how. Or should I let it download? Or will that brick my phone? Thanks for the help. Using a Droid X by the way.

no worries, the update will just fail to install
no problem
Thanks guys! Now one more question. I am ultimately trying to go back to stock so I can get Gingerbread. Since I'm using ROM Manager(I've only used two ROMs), I use the oldest date to restore my phone back to "stock" root correct? And then do I use Z4 root to "un"-root my phone? Appreciate it. (Droid X btw).

[Q] XOOM Accidental 3.01 meant to put 3.2 now can't get back

In attempting to root, I ended up putting 3.01 on the Xoom by accident because I had the 'Stuck at Motorola logo' problem. Now I'm back to the Xoom desktop, but I have an older version of the OS and the OTA update won't work. I want to get back to my 3.2 glory and I don't care so much about rooting anymore.
So if anyone has any tips to help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I've searched around but I can't find the answer to this one.
Xoom
3.0.1
Kernel: 2.6.36.3-g2a4197e

But I know I had a different Build Number all the way up until I had the Motorola logo stuck screen.
Thanks In Advance!

If you are completely stock and unrooted, you you should get the OTA updates. Being unlocked is OK, so don't relock, because if you decide to root later, unlocking again would cause you to lose all your data.

[Q]

Hi All,
I have recently bought a Motorola fire Xt530 mobile. Its running android 2.3.4, recently I noticed Motorola rolling out 2.3.5 for this model. I have below questions in my mind
Is this update worth?
Does anyone faced any application issues after this update?
Wat would be phones internal free memory after this update?
Also I didnt root my mobile. If I root it now, is it possible to use the motorolas official update 2.3.5 or other updates.
If the update is fine to go, please let me how to root it after this update? (Because I am not planning to go for custom ROMS, just root is fine to install default applications on my own).
Please clarify me.
Thanks.

[Q] loading a DROID 4 with ICS

Hi all,
Sorry for my ignorance, but I don't want to brick my phone, so....
I have a DROID 4 (now unrooted) that is still running 2.3.6. I cannot get the OTA ICS update to succeed, so I was wondering if it is safe to use the Droid 4 Utility for ICS to install it directly.
Thanks for any advice you might have.

To clarify, the readme would seem to indicate I can do this, but I must not have a bone-stock 2.3.6 or the OTA update would work. This is why I am asking if it is safe to proceed.
Thanks,
