Philz touch recovery for N8000 - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Just flashed Philz touch recovery to my friends S3.
wanted to know if anyone uses the this recovery in their N8000 ?
http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/n8000

I use Philz.
Do you need any help?

No, thank you.
Already did the switch from regular CWM to philz without any problems. The best option for me is a working USB mount in philz.

I have used Philz in past but I feel better with CWM

Thats a good question,....
Have you tested this CWM:
How to ROOT Galaxy Note 10.1 3G/Wifi! [N8000/N8013/N8010]
Download you Firmware from SamMobile.com ... test the CWM and if it not work Reflash your ROM with the SamMobile Files.... i cant test it because i have an N8000 ... but i want to know if its work too?
I Think it works... because N8000, N8010, N8013 have the same Recovery... So why should the N8020 have another? I think it is the same....
Please give me a Feedback!
Ok, it worked, with the CWM File, great idea.

Tried this on my 8020. The rooting process (method 2) indicate that all goes well but when booting up it is not rooted. Running JB 4.1.2, any ideas?

I can only access CWM directly after flashing with Odin. When I booting after installing the zip all is normal, no root. If I now try to reboot into CWM I end up in the default bootmenu..
Can not access the internal SD card from CWM, says "canĀ“t open..". Only the external SD card which I formatted in fat32 is accessible..
Now here is a working CWM for the N8020 Device!!

Problem with archidroid in samsung galaxy s iii

Hello there! I just flashed ArchiDroid V2.3.4 in my Galaxy S III. When flashing ended I selected reboot now. But my phone only reboots in recovery mode (phiilz touch 4 CWM Base Version: 6.0.3.1). I tried to reboot my phone from the recovery mode but still the same problem. I tried to remove the battery and try again but still the same problem. Can you give me a solution to this cause I don't know what to do... Thanks!

its 4.4.. i will try to flash a custom rom and see what happens but i don't know if this is rom's fault or PhilZ Touch Recovery's fault

the CWM version of this particular recovery is 6.0.3.1.. Is this a problem? and if it's recovery's problem what can i do about it? if i flash a stock rom the recovery will not be erased.

hmmm well i dont know what to say to that but thats what i have heard with kit kat roms, i have looked on CWMs website and almost all of the galaxys s3s (discluding the s3 mini and international i think) have 6.0.4.X so i would try the specific one for you on Rom manager when you get a rom Working.
I Just installed HellKat 4.4 on my galaxy S3.
The only way this would work is to get my CWM to 6.0.4 just like Trozzul suggested.
The way I did it is to find ODIN pro/lite (MobileODINLite-v4.00.apk)
Then use that to install the CWM.img.
The HellKat 4.4 would not install with CWM 6.0.1
Hope this helps

[Q] TWRP recovery for GT-I8262

I want to perform a Nandroid backup for my phone. And i want to use TWRP recovery instead of CWM recovery because of following reasons :
1.I don't have enough space on my phone,so if i use TWRP it will allow me to backup directly on USB OTG.
2.The UI is much more simpler.
I have searched for threads about installlation of TWRP,but there are none available for Samsung Galaxy Core (GT-I8262).
Please tell me any method to install TWRP recovery in my phone....!!
Any help is much appreciated.

If you can get into CWM can't you flash a different recovery, maybe TWRP, then flash a good ROM? I'm a fan of the OMNIROM Kit Kat 4.4.2, but there's lots to choose from.
I had trouble installing ROMs from CWM, but all that resolved with TWRP. I used 2.7.0.1 of TWRP, by the way.
Good luck, and report back.
Marc
Update to latest twrp (I prefer philz advanced recovery, myself) and try flashing again.
Oh, and if possible use a different ROM file as your download may have been corrupted.

Just download latest TWRP from Android Andi here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47970089 flash it thru your CWM, reboot into your new recovery, wipe system and flash a different ROM. Make sure you re-download whatever ROM you are going to use because as previously stated you may have gotten a bad download.

Read my last post. Use a different ROM then. There are plenty to choose from.
To be clear what you need to do is use the CWM you have to install A DIFFERENT recovery, one more compatible with a lot of the current custom ROMs. I have used TWRP so for example:
1. Boot to CWM with TWRP package on your microSD
2. Flash TWRP
3. Reboot into recovery... CWM will be gone and you will have TWRP instead
4. In Twrp Wipe caches and format system
5. Still In Twrp, Flash ROM of your choice from ROM downloaded onto your microsd
6. Reboot system and give it time.
Let us know how it goes!
Thank you everyone
Thank You Thanx a lot for helping me guys
I downloaded TWRP n then downloaded the latest version of OMNI Rom and it worked
Thnak u soo much guys
CWM n Cyanagonemod has a lot of bugs and is really ****

Glad you got your system to boot omnirom! You may need to re root the device... Others here can help you get that done, as I'm no expert.

Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535083and use the Philz recovery link for your device. Once finished you can reflash your existing TWRP zip you used earlier to regain TWRP recovery if thats what you want. Or you can just leave as is and have Philz recovery as that is a very good one as well. Your choice.
You could also use the SuperSu link from here http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu and just flash that. I believe that will work just the same. I havent, but have heard it works as well
Thanx

Rom and recovery are independent in that direction. Both use a different kernel.
Must be a hardware problem in this case.
