[Recovery] Philz Touch Recovery [beta] - Desire Android Development

I compiled this a while ago after seeing someone in the Q&A section ask about if it was available for the desire. I only had a few minutes to test that it boots back when I compiled it, and I forgot what works and what doesnt. Therefore this is a complete beta test. Do not use this if you dont know what you are doing. In its current state its for advanced users only. Install using fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery philztouch.img
If you just want to temporarily test it (without fully installing) you can run this:
Code:
fastboot boot philztouch.img
That'll boot the image and let you play around with the recovery, but once you reboot it will be gone and you will have your old recovery back. (good for testing purposes)
Feedback is appreciated. Thanks
Credits for the development of this recovery go to Phil3759. For more info read here.
Once some testers confirm that it works decently, I will make the OP look pretty and more n00b friendly.

Seems no SD card tools??

How likely will this brick?

Its almost impossible that this will brick your phone (unless you are flashing it on a phone other than the desire)
If you just want to test without permanently installing, use the fastboot boot command described in the OP.

Il check my desire s... They pretty much the same phone.
Edit: yh the desire s doesnt have partitioning tools. But to be honest, phils recovery is based on CWM its just got a [email protected] load of extra features. And we all know not to partition sdcard with cwm so no real loss if u ask me.

So to the people that tested the recovery so far, any issues or feedback?

I flashed ZIP file and the device is stuck in a boot loop
And tried fastboot, ended up in this error:

writing 'recovery'... FAILED (remote: image update error)
finished. total time: 0.807s
Fast solution please! No recovery now!!

Use fastboot instead to flash the image.

have you make a backup by your recovery of your previous stock rom? Hope Yes
So you can just restore your backup on first time, and come back in stock rom for TG
If you are sure, you can test some rom which are compatible with your 300TG

Recovery failure
I am hopeful that someone can point me in the right direction to recover my device. While traveling I attempted to recover back to an earlier backup (twrp made). Everything seemed to go as expected, but then upon reboot, I only received the ASUS screen. I can get into WipeData/Fastboot, but no further.
I attempted to flash the openrecovery-twrp-2.2.2.0-tf300t-ICS.blob as I going to return to stock and then try out the latest Asus rom, but fastbooting openrecovery doesn't allow me to get into recovery - there is no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Next - I pulled the blob from US_epad-user-10.4.2.13.zip and attempted to:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system update.blob
where I renamed the blob to update.blob.
The PC says:
OKAY [141.651s].
writing 'system'
FAILED (remote: ()
finshed. total time: 142.661s
The device reports in red:
Failed to process command flash:system error(0x170003)

Thanks for the suggestion to use NVFlash. I didn't get a chance to try that.
Just wanted to share what worked!
1. Grabbed the US_epad....zip from the Asus site.
2. Unzipped twice to get to the blob file.
3. ran: fastboot -i 0x050b flash boot blob
-- this failed with an error 0x170003
4. ran: fastboot -i 0x050b flash recovery blob
-- ran this even though I would have thought it should have been flash boot. Others have suggested that you just
run this program one or more times to achieve success. The good news is that it worked and after:
5. fastboot -i -x0b05 reboot
I now have a fully functioning device again. I hope this helps others.

no it doesn't matter if you didn't root the stock one
cm10 comes already pre-rooted
do this
connect your device in fastboot mode to pc(in bootloader must say fastboot usb)
extract the boot.img from the rom.zip and place it in your adb and fastboot folder(i assume you have installed sdk tools)
open in that folder a cmd window and do fastboot flash boot boot.img
then do fastboot reboot

Hello, W1F1. There is no way at this point in time to root Project Spectrum on Oppo R7Plus as TWRP isnt compatible. They changed a lot when they made Project Spectrum. For now there is no TWRP. So there is no way to root. It's Fastboot is also set to non-root access making is hard to use the command (fastboot flash recovery _TWRP-HERE_) but not impossible to flash the stock recovery and then ColorOS to get back to safety (by safety I mean CyanogenMod 14.1 [OFFICIAL] or AICP [UNOFFICIAL]). All you need to do is ask and I'll give you the links.

Recovery:http://goo.gl/1AdXkD
ROM:https://s3.amazonaws.com/public.opp...olorOS/Specified_ColorOS_R7plusf_full_014.zip
0. Move all files to external MicroSD card *rename the ROM to update.zip*
1. Flash the recovery.img to recovery partition. With (fastboot flash recovery "recovery.img) *remember to put the recovery.img file in the ADB and Fastboot file for easier transfer*
2. Reboot into the system recovery and select Update, then go to where you put your ROM and select it
3. Wait for it to flash and then reboot
4. Your reboot will hang. Leave it do that for about 5 minutes, then reboot into fastboot mode again.
5. Seeing as you are now on a ROM with an unlocked bootloader you will be able to now flash TWRP recovery with the command (fastboot flash recovery "TWRPRECOVERYNAME") *I used TWRPRECOVERYNAME as an example as to where the recovery file needs to go. You should also have this in the ADB and Fastboot folder*

After flashing recovery, type (fastboot reboot) Before you press enter, hold down the Volume - button (on the phone) and simultaneously press enter. You should then be able to boot to stock recovery
JUST REMEMBER TO NOT BOOT BACK INTO SPECTRUMOS. This will reset the recovery partition as it locks it on boot

Sadly no all it does is show the Oppo logo, and then when it should show the recovery screen it just goes black. I think it's something to do with the DTB error before.

Thank you. I have looked around a lot and I believe creating a new recovery img using the dt from here might work: https://github.com/TeamWin/Team-Win-Recovery-Project/issues/716
Please let me know if you find something.

You could very well try that and it work. I have limited knowledge when it comes to development of ROMs and Recoveries so I'm not too sure how you will fair, it may take a bit of trial and error. Tell me how you go with it

Update:
Bad news: Unfortunately my phone is now stuck in a boot loop.
Good news: Using a recovery provider by the user "Ricky" on the first page of this thread: http://community.oppo.com/en/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=46395&extra=&page=1 I have been able to flash the stock recovery and it is now working. Because of the boot loop problem I am reinstalling Spectrum through recovery to try and get out of that, then hopefully I will be able to flash back to Color OS if the boot loop stops.

Is it just the boot animation continuously playing? If so, this is when you need to turn off your phone and right as the screen goes off press and hold the volume + button. This will put you back in fastboot. Once you are there flash the TWRP recovery. After that hold the volume - and type fastboot reboot. This will boot you to TWRP recovery

OP6 completely stuck

Hi
I tried flash and root my OP6 following a tuto on forums.oneplus.com
And now I'm completely stuck.
When I try to boot normally, I have a black screen with just a blue notification led
when I try to boot via the command : fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img, same thing, black screen.
And on fastboot mode I can't do anything:
I tried to erase my data, but it changed nothing.
help me please.

wrong twrp used. https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...covery-theme-blacked-twrp-acuicultor-t3847752 is a working twrp. use it. The blank screen with blue light means no os installed.
after flashing twrp, you then need to get magisk https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases and flash as well or you will bootloop.
I just have to run the fastboot boot with this image ?
unfortunately, it doesn't work, I just have a blanck black screen again, with just the blue led.
E:\Downloads\twrp-3.2.3-0_enchilada_V2.0.1> fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0_enchilada_V2.0.1.img

I used the one you linked (just renamed it, because PowerShell doesn't seem to like the brackets [])
stupid question, is your bootloader unlocked?
when you first boot to fastboot mode, last line is bootloader state.

Yep, first things I did.
I then boot on TWRP and install some img and zip (I don't have the tuto anymore and don't remember the files name)
and when I reboot to system it started crash (no boot can't boot twrp, only access to fastboot)

download this https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904011624
this will allow us to fastboot flash stock rom back to phone. Then i can safely guide you to proper twrp and root.

I did nothing after launching the bat for now.
ReCaptch is really fu***ng me right now, Can you contact me via pm or email ? a communication without the captcha ...

I'm stuck in the same situation ! HELP
Hey, I saw your problem and now while I was trying to flash the twrp I got stuck onto the same situation and what is worse is I've no recovery and I'm stuck on the blue notification light black screen.
What should I do now? I'm currently downloading the file posted earlier here as I write this but I have a MacBook will it work on this also?
I have an unlocked boot loader if it helps.
I also was on 8.1.0 before all of this but I'm pretty sure I don't have any OS as of now.
Thank you.
