[Q] LG G2 stuck in boot loop - General Questions and Answers

I just got the international LG G2 D802 model. I installed the KitKat 4.4.2 update, rooted, and then installed TWRP. Everything was fine, but I noticed there was another OTA update available, and when I tried to install that my phone got stuck in a boot loop.
I was able to restore it using the the following command:
dd if=/dev/zero/ of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
dd if=/dev/zero/ of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
That brought it back to stock, and thinking everything was ok, I tried to update again. Now the above commands will not work, possibly because I hadn't rooted and turned on USB debugging yet. When I select reboot from the TWRP menu, I get a message asking if I want to root with SuperuserUS, but it doesn't work.
I've tried everything, including all the LG flash tools, and nothing works.Because I've got the international version, but I'm with Telus, I can't find/select the proper stock ROM.
I'm really hoping I can avoid a $600 brick.

[Q] Droid stuck in boot loop

Long story, but here goes...
About a week ago I turned off my Droid. When I attempted to turn it back on it got stuck at the Motorola logo screen. After a few minutes it would reboot and do the same over and over. I had never rooted or done anything custom to the phone at any point. It was 100% stock original. Nothing had changed recently to suddenly cause an issue, no new apps or anything. I spoke with Verizon about it and they walked me through the process of attempting to boot to the recovery screen. During this call we found that I could not even boot to the recovery screen. I am outside of the warranty and inside of my renewal date.
Since I don't intend to pay for a new one I decided to try to fix it myself. My first attempt was simply to get to a point that I could boot to recovery. I flashed the phone with SPRecovery and sure enough I was able to boot to recovery. I then attempted to flash it with 2.2 and ended up back in the same situation with the boot loop. During all of this I noted that the Bootloader version was 2C.7C.
I then decided to go back to the SPRecovery/rooted configuration and attempted to load a custom ROM from Liquid. This also failed.
My next train of thought was to flash back to an older version of the Droid OS. I chose to flash to VZW_A855_ESD56_QSC6085BP_C_01.3E.01P_SW_UPDATE_03. Low and behold, that worked and the phone booted up and ran fine. It immediately updated to 2.1 update 1. I noticed after this flash that I was on Bootloader version 2C.6C.
Shortly afterwards I was prompted to install the OTA 2.2 update. After accepting and installing I was back to having a bricked phone. This was through the OTA update. Nothing I did or forced.
So basically, I can flash the phone back to VZW_A855_ESD56_QSC6085BP_C_01.3E.01P_SW_UPDATE_03 again and it works fine. But the second it tries to install the 2.2 OTA update or if I attempt to flash to the 2.2 image it gets stuck in the loop.
Notes that may be important:
1. I get the "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command" error when I am able to get into recovery.
2. I have been sure to wipe data, cache, etc and formatted the SD Card through the phone OS when possible.
3. I use Ubuntu to flash the phone as it seems more stable and easier for my preference (I like Linux commands )
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I'm also stock in a bootloop, lost count already...

[Q] Accidentally wiped all partitions, bricked phone.

I have an LG G2 D800 (AT&T variant) that was running CM11 with TWRP recovery installed. I was going to reflash the stock ROM, and decided to wipe all the partitions in TWRP. ALL OF THEM. Phone is stuck on the LG boot screen. I have TWRP backups for the stock and CM ROMs, but no way to get them onto the device. I can't access it through ADB as it says that the device is unauthorized. The phone won't even turn off now. What should I do? Please help.

If you have manual access to the sdcard you can use a micro sdcard reader to put the backups onto the device in the folder that restore the backups.
Or you can use lg's upgrade tool found on the support page for your device.
It will flash your device from lg's emergency mode.
(Helped me with an optimus u)
Good luck! :victory:

[Q] LG G3 is constantly rebooting into TWRP, can't get a normal boot

Guys I'm freaking out, I installed TWRP while on 4.4.2 and then later tried to install the OTA Lollipop update. My phone rebooted into TWRP, and now it won't stop. Even normal reboot option continues to reboot it into TWRP.
I tried flashing another ROM, I tried factory resetting from the TWRP menu, I tried rebooting to recovery then rebooting normally, nothing is working.
Please, what can I do?

So your completely formatting system and then flashing a custom rom? That should fix it if not just follow my back to stock guide.

I found your back to stock guide, you're sure it will work? I'm trembling in anticipation here because the .TOT file is going to take 5-6 hours to download, and I've got work really early in the morning. If it doesn't work I have no idea what I'm going to do.

or try this. i just had bootloop and nothing worked except this
Found this on AndroidCentral: Saved my life – it got my phone back to original. Hope this helps others.

What worked for me was from the TWRP terminal command was to type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit enter and reboot.
I was able to fix the phone a few nights ago; I was on the road and never had a decent internet connection to update.
The return to stock method ended up working. Although, the process failed about six times before finally going through.

[Completed] LG G2, Stuck in TWRP bootloop! - Please help.

Hi,
So it alll started when I installed CM13 Nightly on my G2, (at this time, it wasnt rooted and no custom recovery) i then decided to update to the next version of the nightly which caused everything to crash.
So I used the LG Flash Tool, and went back to stock which worked absolutely fine. Then I decided to use ioroot and re-root my device which always went fine. Next, I installed the twrp manager, which installed an old version for my G2. I had G apps 5.1 and resurrection remix rom, in my downloads folder. I then went to recovery, wiped my device, (apart from internal storage) and then tried to install the rom. I forgot to download the bootstack and the new version of twrp. I then accidentally wiped internal storage, which has stopped adb sideload from working. I have tried re using the LG Flash tool to go back to stock, but it always skips system, data, cache etc. and when the phone boots, I am back in TWRP with no OS. Please Help. Thanks..

after that, you can use the lg flash tool, and go back to stock
Hello,
Glad, you yourself found out the solution.

[Completed] Lg g3 700 fastboot mode started when going to recovery

Hello I hope someone could help me.
I have an lg g3 D855 international version, with kit kat 4.4.2 and its the 10e version.
I've root my device in order to install new custom rooms. At first I wanted to go to android marshmallow official and wanted to do the flashing with lg flash tool, but in every computer I have, it does not working, its either stuck in 2% and then it fails, or 4% and then it fails, and I tried to erase an install the new drivers and the old ones in the computer... But I couldn't get it to work. So I decided to root my device, and install twrp recovery, so I did. First I try to install the latest version of twrp, this I did it directly from the phone via TWRP manager. It was supose to work... But when I finish installing and went to recovery.. It went to a black screen saying "[700] fastboot mode started" or sometimes "[760] fastboot mode started" to my surprise the phone is not softbrick. I removed the battery and then reboot the phone and it works... But everytime I go to recovery or tried to install a new bump recovery... Because i thought that was the problem is still the same. I tried to install a new recovery with ADB but when I put the file path in order to install it... It said it couldn't find the recovery img in the path... But it was there... And I tried, but couldn't get it to work. I have some experience with custom roms on samsung galaxy s3, but change my phone, and this lg g3 is really making me crazy.
Thank you very much in advanced.
