I'm trying to see if there is an app that will allow me to disable the notification light during certain times. If I'm in a meeting and it starts blinking it totally distracts me if I can't get too it.
Thanks!!

yup...either setup some profiles,
or buy tasker & you can set all sorts of things up
How do I set up profiles. If I can do it without buying tasked that's cool. This is really the only thing I want too do.

I tried a bunch of profile apps and the only one that would turn off the notification light was light flow. But after installing it I have a constant green light that stays on.
Has anyone found and app the will allow I turn off notification lights for select times.

So I have my phone on silent the majority of the time. Now recently for some reason my phone stopped vibrating for texts and any other notifications completely. I can't even get the timer in the inbuilt clock app to vibrate.
The motor or whatever vibrates the phone is working because my phone vibrates when I go to adjust the vibration settings. But it doesn't vibrate for notifications.
For text messages idk what rom your on but go to settings in messaging and find the vibration settings

What Rom are you using?

Ya may need to go into the messaging and email app settings and change the vibration settings there.
Next time you may want to post this in q&a section as well. I can hear the trolls coming out from under the bridge already. Just a heads up
Edit: I may want to realize which thread I'm in! Lol. Sorry, but the settings piece still applies.

I'm on CM9 and my notifications were not vibrating either. I went into system>sound>silent mode then chose vibrate. I also went into the settings of text messages under vibrate and chose "only on silent". See if any of that helps.

I dont have any vibration settings in the default text message app. Samsung's clock timer isn't vibrating on silent like it used to, I messed around with the sound settings as well and nothing changed.
I had this problem yesterday. I wasn't getting any notification for text messages. I would see them only when I turned the phone on and looked at the screen. Turns out I was playing around with the CM9 profiles settings, and had it in night time profile, which by default sets the vibration and volume to 0. You can either change the settings of that profile, or just set it back to default profile.
Having said that, it is kind of handy being able to disable notifications during certain hours...
Has anyone been able to see if the LED’s on the hardware navigation buttons can be customized for notifications, etc?
Such as pulse speed, individual LED’s, duration and order?
For instance, if all 3 are slowly pulsing, I have an SMS.
If only the back button is pulsing, it’s an email..
Etc, so on and so fourth?

No you can't.
You have the notification LED at top of the phone for that.

I guess this would be a great development for a developer.
Btw, how do I customize the LED color at the top? I'm on the SLIM rom?

Yes it's possible
To customize the LED color at top try to go on Settings > Display > Notification LED.
If you don't have this option you need to use an app to control the LED (search the "LED" word on the Play Store).
yeah you have an rgb notification light at the top that you can set on a per app basis. you can set different colors and pulse timings. theres not much demand to not use it and instead a much more complex alternative.

this was done back in the day on my Tmobile Galaxy s2 so I get what you want and dont see why it cant be attempted. I believe BLN was the app we used but it had to be activated within the kernel if I am not mistaken

This is possible with a custom kernel. They call it BLN (button light notification). I haven't seen a kernel yet that has this feature but we might be lucky enough to get one, or to have this feature included in one of the existing kernels.

Yes, but it's useless when you have the notification LED...

Maybe for you, but that's only your opinion, many people find the feature very useful.

Yes yes, I think we need to see
Lightflow gives the option to control the button lights. I haven't played around with it, but its there.
Perhaps @andrewpmoore can chime in.

This would honestly be a cool feature to have as an option. I remember having it on Galaxy S1, S2 & my Nexus S because of the lack of LED. The kernel will have to be modified for this to be enabled.

I had this function in my HTC One via ElementalX kernel. It would be nice to have on my OPO.
Before I go setting up an NFC tag by my nightstand...
Is there a way to disable the notification light in silent mode on 5.1.1? Seems to me there should be, so I thought I'd ask the easy question before I jump through hoops.
I use ledblinker pro app to set quiet times

Is there any way to turn off the persistent notification saying connected to Gear?
Have you tried long pressing the notification and turning on block notifications on the menu that pops up? That's on the note 5
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
I could do that but that don't you not get any notifications related to the gear?

You still get all the notifications, but I could only do that when I was rooted. If you're not rooted the option is greyed out.
